Finicky interface
The playback screen is incredibly sensitive, I find it difficult to pause the video and return to where I was without having skipping 10 minutes into the video. Very annoying, needs to be fixed. Also incorporating the date to where each video was made would be a nice feature.
Terrible, everything is out of sync
Awful app, when watching dual screen one screen doesn’t update or they will both be out of time with the time presented at the bottom. Skipping forward or backwards does nothing except change the time displaced. Trying to watch a lecture and the slides were not updating and now when I try to watch, the lecture slides will not even show.

Lots of Glitches
7/10 times I go on the app, the projector screen is black while the classroom camera screen works fine. Also, when I try to skip through the video, one screen would freeze while the audio syncs with the time skip. I prefer to use the browser version
Always refreshes the page and start form the start
Why does it have to refresh out of nowhere while watching my lecture and starts again. Both website and application has the same promblem.
Excessive Amount of Bugs
Every single time without fail that I open this app to review lectures for school, there is always a glitch or error that occurs if you pause, skip ahead any amount or try to go back on videos. Most common being the audio and video not syncing at all, always being at drastically different parts of the video from eachother. The only way to avoid bugs is to close the app, reset your phone, and watch a video from the very beginning without interacting with it at all.
We are using this app for school, we pause and move around different sections of the video to learn at our own pace or to stop and take notes. The fact everytime I open this app it feels like the equivalent of driving a beat up car that'll break down any second is unacceptable.
I have never, ever encountered a video streaming service on any website or phone for the past 2 decades that has this level of bugs and errors. Please do better. Every single review on this app is telling you the same thing. It is a simple issue to fix. There is no reason why streaming and video services from 2005 worked better than this app in 2024.
Although thinking anything will change despite the reviews is wishful thinking. Surely this company receives their paycheck from our universities funded by us students at the end of the day regardless of how garbage this service is.

Panopto mobile is a buggy mess
Just after 2 days of usage I have already encountered a plethora of bugs and issues. Did you miss something? Don’t dare rewind or the entire video player goes into an infinite loading screen. But don’t try closing the app and restarting or you will break the display. Often, the video will start 20 minutes in, but the audio will stay delayed. Miserable experience, do better

Really difficult to play videos! Bug issue
There is some kind of bug with the tech playing videos rarely works properly it’s super frustrating. The audio plays from the start even if you try and skip ahead and the video or the slides are often out of sync with the audio. Please fix this!!
Worst App
This is hands down worst app I have had the displeasure to interact with for educational purposes. I hope that schools see these reviews and drop these no-good developers and bring somebody who knows how to build an app.
I’ve had so many issues and frustrations with this while viewing my online classes:
1. At random times, one of the videos stops showing (most of the time it’s the screen sharing… arguably the important piece)
2. If you stop a video in the middle, when you come back to it, one of two things will happen to you:
- you won’t be able to see one of the screens (most likely the important one)
- the tracking progress bar on the video thinks it’s picked up where you left off, but the video actually started from the beginning. In which case you cannot navigate through it, because it’s all out of whack.
3. Sometimes audio just stops working and you need to restart the app.
I’ve had so many issues and frustrations with this while viewing my online classes:

So buggy!
Playback is buggy - won’t pause, can’t fast forward - absolutely terrible app and frustrating as I use it for watching university lectures
iPhone App not even usable
So many issues that renders this app completely unusable on iPhone. No matter where in the video I am, if I’m continuing where I left off, the audio starts and resumes from the very beginning, completely unsynced from the video. Sometimes screen is just completely black with audio. Others it doesn’t let me fast forward or rewind. Not once have I been able to view a single video properly. :(
