  • Easy to use

    User friendly, and a really easy way to meet clients for babysitting or pet sitting !

  • Platform fee is very high and the app is only benefit parents not sitter

    The app charges 25% platform fee on the sitter for the first sit, which is very high and most parents not even know how low income that the sitter received. Of course the app said then it charges 6% for all your next sits with the same family but most ad hoc sits are just for random and not for long term relationships with the family. Also for the parents cancelling the sit in the last minute, the sitter received so little and they also charged the platform fee on the sitter on top of the cancellation pay. They give discounts and benefits to parents side but they don’t care the sitter. I can see here have a lot of comments and reviews saying the same things just because the app is not for sitter, but for their own profits.

    Hey Laura, appreciate your feedback but I would love to clarify a few things here. Firstly, we care deeply about the sitters that use Bubble - we have fantastic relationships with hundreds of long-term Bubble users as well as newbies, and sitter feedback is incredibly valuable in building a fantastic service that brings you more work. As you've touched on, Bubble will only ever charge you 20-25% on your first sit with a new family. After that, your fees are significantly lower. We know that most parents do want to rebook with the same sitters, rather than meeting a different person for every booking, so with this new structure, we're rewarding sitters for rebooking with families and incentivising those long-term relationships. We're also working on ways to make it really easy and convenient to rebook the same sitters time and time again. If a parent cancels a sit last minute, they're forced to pay a minimum 50% payment to you, and Bubble does not make a profit on this. The 3.5% charge covers your secure payment processing. Bubble sitters are incredibly important to us - this is why we're constantly coming up with ways to support you - with Super Sitter status and rewards, cancellation payments, and new app features.   • Stressful and disheartening

    I used to enjoy this app but feel that now there are a real lack of jobs which I am sure is down to the new platform fees. Parents are unaware of these fees and are very shocked when informed.
    Some days there are only 3 jobs on the app and that is really disappointing.
    Also, When jobs are up, parents seem to take a really long time to choose someone and that can be frustrating when you are trying to plan ahead.
    I have also had parents book me in the knowledge that their children are really sick without informing me which was very unfair.
    I am a highly qualified and experienced sitter and not prepared to work under minimum wage even if it is just for the first sit. Sad that it has come to this. I understand the app has to make their money but this increase is so substantial that it is really impacting on sitters livelihoods as many of us rely on the app to make our money.

  • A must App!

    This app has been fantastic for me to build my career at my own pace and it gives me the flexibility to network with new clients and amazing families. It’s extremely safe and secure. Everyone is vetted to the highest standards. It allows clear communication between everyone and offers in house support when needed. I have recommended so many of my friends to download whether they’re parents or looking for work. I absolutely Love Love Love this app! I can see negative reviews regarding the payment charges however , the amount of work I have had from the App covers the fees I pay and the 25% is only a one time fee for every new client. The only negative i would say is that you have to have a regular amount of clients per month to keep your “super sitter” title - with the amount of babysitters / Nannie’s using the app it is becoming harder to get jobs so it isn’t easy to keep the super sitter title which is a little disheartening especially when you have 100% positive reviews and have stayed loyal to the App. It would be nice to be recognised for that. Having said that Bubble was a great way for me to network and I think it’s great for parents to find a trustworthy person for their precious babies.

  • Could be better

    I’ve been using this app for very long time, done over 150 sitting. It has been great, but with the recent increased of fees for sitter is getting hard. It feels they only care about the parent side and not really the worker. It’s absurd that they now charge 25% of the total sitting to the sitter but the parent fee is ridiculous cheap.
    Parent can cancel last minute and the cancellation fee is peanuts, on top the sitter has to pay 3.5% for the cancellation payment transaction. Why on earth the sitter has to pay??? I got a last minute cancellation, the sitting was suppose to be £72 but they charged the family £18. On this £18 I need to pay 3.5%. I’m not able to replace the sitting as it was last minute cancellation.
    But if a sitter cancel last minute they could suspend your account.
    I do understand the fee and till recently I found it quite fair, but now it’s too high where it should increase for parent as they are looking for a service and no the other way around.

It's best to see this as an introductory fee - we really want to encourage and reward long term relationships with families that you meet through Bubble. This fee covers the cost of sending the payment over to you - please note that we put this forced cancellation payment from parents in place to protect your income on these bookings as we really value the commitment that you make to the sit.   • Very expensive now, not worth my time

    Bubble have raised their platform fees for the sitter to 25%. They now take a quarter of what you earn, and for self employed work this means you keep around 40%. They’ve been so brilliant for me over the years, making last minute childcare accessible when they took around%. But now I have to hike my prices up, making parents less likely to get the quality childcare they are looking for. It’s real greed, and so disappointing. They’re just another massive corporation benefiting from exploiting workers who are working living wage jobs.

  • One of the best apps out there

    I’ve been using Bubble for a few years and cannot fault the app or the team behind the service. The app is extremely user friendly and easy to use and far exceeds others on the market. Bubble isn’t only my favourite (and now my only) babysitting platform but I far prefer it to any other job-related apps for other casual work such as pet-care or tutoring. In my experience Bubble has been the safest and easiest to use platform, and despite recently increasing their platform fees the fees are still very low compared to similar services on the market - and you are insured on all bookings through the app for free! Wether you're new to babysitting or an experienced childcare provider, I highly recommend Bubble for parents and sitters.

  • Generally a great app.

    I’ve been using bubble since it was launched as a sitter. I have had some great sits and met some lovely families through this app. However, it’s very biased towards favouring parents.

    Sitters get penalised for cancelling a sit due to being unwell or plans changing beyond their control and they quite often have their account suspended, however, parents don’t. I’ve turned down other work and then been cancelled with no payment and they’re free to continue using the app. I would much prefer to use the app if it was fairer to the sitters.

  • Babysitters have rights too.

    As a babysitter, if something is wrong between yourself and the parents or regarding payments, there is no easy way to contact somebody from bubble. On the chat function, I have been ignored for two days regarding payment that I was supposed to get three days ago. The parrot was extremely late coming home, showed little remorse for this, and I had to find a new way home in the middle of the morning which affected the following days. Bubble have been completely unhelpful in solving my issues and I am yet to be paid. I am pretty sure if I turned up 2 1/2 hours late to babysit that would be uproar, but it doesn’t matter, because I am just the babysitter.
