  • The app crashes very often, not reliable

    The app is not intelligent enough to send you the requests that are in your area and most importantly the postal codes that you always apply, instead you spend lots of time rejecting the same jobs over and over again. Every "update" makes it more inestable, right now a message of something is wrong appears with any single click of the screen. Messages are mixed with single or regular requests, feedback page for parents is not always presented. The availability is not updated as requests are confirmed. Too many issues that doesn't make the app easy to navigate. :(

  • Nice but far from excellent

    I like this app for any extra during weekends I don’t have plans or have days off from my main nanny roll.

    It’s an app FOR parents and made for them, babysitter here doesn’t take much benefits from apart from paying fees, they can cancel even when you get to the place and without paying NOTHING or ANY FEE at all for your time of booking and waste of travel.

    This have to change, if a uber gets a fee of time waste for a cancel trip, am I not worth a compensation of my time and money to travel there? Wouldn’t be fair for those parents to pay a fee as a part of booking? Luckily some parents do pay a compensation or the sit but that unfortunately doesn’t happen often.

    Friends of mine have had their profile blocked because cancelled sits, for personal or work related emergency which on the child careers world happens a lot. They don’t care or ask you why you needed to cancel, so it just what parents wants and their needs.

    I’m aware of it, which the reason why I only do occasionally sits with and not long ones because it’s useful to be honest but I wouldn’t trust only this for jobs.

    This app need to improve and protect the workers that make you earn money, I have a fee taken from every job and I don’t feel well treated or respect. There’s a lot more to change to be a trusted app.

    Hope the Bubble team can take the advise and look after the sitters betters.

When it comes to cancellations, it is always something we look into case by case and apply a common sense approach. We understand that sometimes a cancellation is unavoidable on either the parent or the sitter’s side. There is a goodwill payment system in place that many parents use and using the app provides many benefits for sitters, such as insurance and meeting new families and winning more work. Platform fees cover the costs of running the platform and reduce over time with every sit. We're proud how sitters on bubble earn more per hour on average then with any other similar service.   • Handy for extra income

    It’s a great app if you’re looking for local work and some extra income. It certainly helped me during the COVID lockdown days, however, I don’t feel like there is enough support for the sitters on this app. Our profiles are penalised or even taken down if we need to cancel a sit (I have never had to do so) but on more than one occasion have had parents cancel whole weeks of work for me last minute. This is income I have heavily relied on during this difficult time, and parents’ profiles will not be penalised for doing so! Payment also takes a long time to come in and the commission rates are quite high...! Bit disappointing. Wish there was more support for sitters. Seems to favour parents more than actual workers sadly.

When it comes to cancellations, we always take it case by case and apply a common sense approach, as we do understand that sometimes it cannot be prevented from happening from both the parent and sitter's side. We also have a goodwill payment system which parents have to opt out of, which is used in more than 50% of cancellations. Platform fees help cover costs of running the platform and the more sits sitters do on bubble, the less the platform fee percentage is per sit.   • Good app but payment is a downfall

    This app is really good for finding extra work when needed however I do think the payment is a downfall. It’s really good that when in need of extra money- childcare professionals can turn to this app however I think the payment process is ridiculous. The fact you have to actually wait 72 hours to get the money you earned is a joke. I think you should allow parents to transfer money to carers or give cash as there’s no need for it to take so long. A simple bank transfer would be in the account instantly. I only use this when I’m in need of some extra money and having to wait for the money I earned is not ideal. Either allow money to be given personally or develop away for it to be in babysitters account instantly

    Hi Lucy, we're really glad you've managed to find extra work easily using bubble; that's great to hear. We always advise that 72h is the maximum amount of time; sitters generally get paid within 24h, though weekends can cause delays on the bank's side. A direct bank transfer is not instantaneous, and bubble's payment system is typically faster than many other online marketplaces. Parents and sitters generally love our payment system due to its security, the insurance that comes with it, and how easy it is instead of having to deal with cash.   • Good way to meet parents

    The app is very dynamic, it seems to have a big database of sitters and families.
    On the other hand it needs to improve in the following
    1. App doesn’t learn your preferences. You have to decline over & over requests that are far away from you or that doesn’t apply to your experience.
    2. Requests should not appear when it is 30 minutes to start, you need time to travel.
    3. It is time consuming as it sends texts of new requests and it shows again sits that you have declined one hour ago!
    4. Fees are high for sitters 10% first time/family. Considering a payment of £7.00 minus fees and transport, you will have to accept all kind of jobs in order to be profitable for you.
    5. There should be a fee incremental for the number of children, as tasks is exponentially heavier.
    6. Some families want to treat sitters as housekeepers or nurses, the sitter job needs to be clarified on the app rules.
