Full of scammers

This company has no way to vet scammers, nor do they care. I was scammed on this app and the company still hasn’t issued a refund. Can’t stress enough how shady this company is.

The support for this app is GOD AWFUL

I’ve never been so frustrated with a support team in my life. I’ve sent 3 highly detailed emails explaining my situation and no response other than “you should kindly wait for the card to be delivered”. After getting extra photos from seller I’ve seen it was fraudulent and I’ve been trying to cancel the order before it ships out to Canada but nope they are gonna send it here so I can spend more money to send it back. Never using again

Why

Shipping to Australia is minimum 21$ usd or like 30 au no matter the location

Response from developer

Hi there, shipping to Australia can be costly, with rates varying by location. The buyer is responsible for all local customs fees and taxes. Shipping usually takes 1-4 weeks, depending on your country’s postal and customs services, and will be handled by your local postal service. Additionally, all items undergo a $7.50 hand-verification process, which may extend shipping by 3-8 business days. We partner with global carriers to ensure safe and secure delivery.

A Collector’s Paradise

Pretty much the best app for any collector out there whether buying or selling. Just facts.

Fraud

I wasn’t shipped everything I bought and acquired. Then when asking where the rest of my order was (all the expensive stuff) what not made any excuse possible not to pursue it. It’s a shame that such a good idea is run by such individual.

Rubbish support rubbish pay

This app is basically for £1-£2 items, after the 8% they take off u ur making nothing close to what u want. Good for massive clear outs instead of taking to charity shops but if u wanna make serious money here isn’t it. The app is hard to navigate around, confusing, not clear on the sellers side. The idea is great, execution is very poor. I sent all my parcels off but still haven’t received money for some items that whatnot is holding from me. I’ve spoken to other sellers too who have said the same thing. Customer service doesn’t exist, if u want any help then ur out of luck. I’ve done over 14 lives now with genuine vintage clothes that are desirable on my other platforms and sell quickly and well, each live had 2-8 views in with people trying to rob u blind as they only want items for £1( whatnot takes 8% so ur left with like 67p) and whatever u do sell u don’t see the money anyways. Scam of a app and a waste of time just don’t bother trust me.

Shipping fees & referral credit nightmare

As a Canadian, it’s terrible to be forced to pay crazy amounts in USD for shipping items, as well as the referral credit not applying to buy now items, (only for live show auctions), and not covering shipping/taxes as well.

Response from developer

Hey there, referral credits do apply to both auction items and buy now items, but can't be applied to cover the cost of shipping, taxes or other fees associated with a purchase. If you had an issue with a referral credit not appearing in your account, please contact our Support Team from "Contact Us" in your Profile menu in the app. You can also review our FAQ on our Buyer Referral Program here: https://help.whatnot.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407952429581-Buyer-Referral-Program-Terms

Scammers love this app!

So here’s the deal, you are bidding on people’s mostly junk or made in China tee moo crap that they have decided to resell to you. The bidding can get exciting and bang in a week or two you might have the biggest regrettable purchase you ever made show up in your mailbox (many get “lost” and I won’t get started on the overpriced shipping). Most of these sellers have low/zero integrity and once this app dies off (trust me it will) they will move on to other ways to scam you. Here’s an example: I “won” an iPad during an auction from the seller NicoleState and it never shipped. I got the run around from her, first it got lost, then shipped to wrong person, then I’ll send you a replacement and now I’m still waiting almost a year later and of course when I reached out to whatnot they said they don’t regulate contests. Hmmm ok so you openly allow scams? And the auction I won was somehow switched to a different handbag “of equal value” and it was sold at TJ Maxx for about 25% of what I paid, I own the stupidity of bidding more than something was worth (never again though). Sellers like Nicole State are a dime a dozen, I have encountered a few more in her circle and they all run the same scams. So if you like overpriced junk and supporting scammers lifestyles this is the app for you!

Slick App

Honestly this app is awesome. I’m constantly finding things I want to buy, so the only down side is how much money you’re going to want to spend lol
