  • Fun and well designed, but ad heavy

I love the game, definitely a new favorite! But I do find the ad quantity overwhelming. Sometimes they appear after every word I submit! I have noticed after like 10 ads or something, they tend to stop themselves (screen flashes with an ad, then disappears before it really loads) which is welcome, and probably the main reason for not docking another star.
That being said, I’ve really enjoyed the game! It’s very casual, and I like that there aren’t any timers (which can be fun, but also stressful) and the dictionaries used seem quite comprehensive! I’ve had a few words where I’ll be like “surely that’s a word”, but googling renders no results. But the fact you can challenge a word is nice (haven’t used it yet, so I can’t comment on it yet though)

  • Addicting, great developer

I’ve gotten addicted go all Zach Gage’s games. Simple premise and easy to understand, but very replayable with lots of strategic considerations to discover. With this game, there’s one irritating issue which is that as the screen gets full, it seems to track finger movements less accurately which makes losing more likely and more frustrating on Rush mode. This is probably a hardware or iOS issue though. Otherwise great.

  • Great Game, Responsive Developer

Compelling game without that feeling of un-put-down-able-ness that leads to game fatigue (and, you know, regret). This is just a great way to pass a little time: engaging and beautiful, a pleasure for the eyes and the ears as well as the mind. Thanks to the team.

Also: The ad problem I read about in other reviews seems to have been fixed, because I’m not seeing a hint of it.

  • Needs one thing

I would like to buy this app (less than the price of a latte right?) but I would like to suggest one thing. We need an undo button! My solitaire game has it. I’m playing on my phone and my finger has spelled a different word than I was intending quite a few times now. I could have gotten a better score if I could redo the word I was trying to spell. But once you lift your finger that’s it. Thanks for the game.

  • Great concept but....

The ads that come up even during game play (I get it you have to make money) can not be x’ed out of! The ad just sits there (a lending company) for minutes and you absolutely can not do anything but get out of the game completely and restart it, which 50% of the time the same ad comes up again! So utterly frustrating, deleting for now, may be back if they can correct.

  • Puzzle is my favorite mode

I have played word games before and I usually delete them after a couple days. This one I have been playing for weeks now. Catch me on the leaderboards!

To the developer: I think it would add more depth to the game if you added a new move option for the player. As of now, we can either spell a word or add a row. If we could spend a turn to swap the position of two adjacent letters, we could combo together even crazier words!! What do you think??

  • Missing words

I enjoy this game as it stimulates your brain! But it is obvious that there are a lot if words missing that one can find in a dictionary. Also in the Tower game, not sure when you come up with with a good 5+ word you get punished by having a whole block of letters falling out of the game? Maybe that is suppose to make the game more competitive, but honestly it is ruins motivation in trying for a higher score. If anything a good word should add letters not take them away!

  • Excellent game, great modes, 1 suggestion for dev

This game has been amazing for the money spent. I have no issues with spending money on well-developed games that don’t abuse users through any timers or other gross tactics.

Big fan of this game as well as Flip Flop Solitaire, another implementation of paid add-ones I was happy to pay for.

1 suggestion for my use-case: I live in NYC and frequent the subway. As such, I’ve discovered that the game is reliant on the internet to just open. I assume this is for the challenge and scoreboard systems to work and update properly. Would it be possible to be able to play offline in a future update, for just such an environment as the subway with no internet access?

  • Fun game - ads are broken so often that it ruins game

The game itself is fun, but whoever they use to build their ads isn’t very good at it. Oftentimes I have to force quit the app with an ad comes up because the exit out/close button just won’t register. Very frustrating experience, and I’d rather not pay for no ads for this particular experience.
  • Even more fun than the original

Great game, I’ve been playing Spell Tower for years and this brings it to another level. Thanks for the developer response to my issue too, it’s all fixed.
