Reviews of Paceline

  • Too many rules

The idea is nice but there are too many “rules. For example, only being able to achieve up to 50 minutes of exercise per day, even though many days I do more. In fact most weeks I’m hitting 200+ on my garmin over 4-5 days per week. This makes it hard to maintain a weekly streak of 150 minutes on the app. Then the prizes are pretty average in value - 35,000 points for like a $5 coupon or a 20% discount is just not incentivizing enough for me. The giveaways were a nice way to “waste” points but I never won, so… now I don’t even see those as an option since the update.
On top of that pacepoints expire so it’s just very hard to reach a high number of points before they expire. I think I’ll be leaving the app as it doesn’t provide enough value and motivation for my already active lifestyle.

Thank you taking the time to leave us a review, and for sharing your candid and thoughtful feedback. All of the Mystery Gift, donation, and gift card rewards can be found by tapping on the Marketplace toggle button toward the bottom of the screen. However, if you don't see that, please reach out to our support team directly (https://help.paceline.fit/support/tickets/new) and we'd happy to assist. That said, while we intend to continue investing in our own Paceline Marketplace, it’s understandable that the list of products or partners currently available might not resonate with everyone right now. We do hope to continue growing as a company so we can feature some really exciting products and brands with exclusive discounts or offers to our Paceline users, powered by their physical activity. On that same note - as we continue to grow as a company and can reinvest more into our rewards platform, we look forward to rewarding our users at a higher level for their continued engagement with the Paceline app and their commitment to their physical well-being. Until then, please don’t hesitate to reach back out with any additional suggestions or feedback.
  • Tried it, won something and now I trust it

I have been using Paceline for a bit over a year now (I think, maybe more). I started using it because I liked the idea of getting rewarded for being active, which I was already (so it was a low effort decision). I stuck up on points and noticed that I would have to get a lot of points to get something worth it for me. Because I have it linked to my Garmin I basically paid little to no attention to it for a long time other than the ocasional giveaway ticket purchase. About a week ago I won the Garmin giveaway, had a great experience with the person from customer service and was able to get a brand new heart monitor from Garmin! So, pretty happy about it! Also, I signed up for the credit card maybe at the end of last year and I haven’t heard anything about it since then, but I would be interested in looking into that if available in the future. I like the user experience of the app and as long as I can get the ocasional value from them while keeping active I would keep using it! Not sure how Paceline does it or how they keep their profits, but kudos to them for promoting active humans and rewarding them!

Thank you so much for your review and for your support of our mission to get people moving! Congratulations on your win!
  • What a honest joke.

I’ve used this app for a few years and was even apart of their 29% Apr credit card that eventually failed (figures) I thought everything was cool. An app that you report your workouts to for free gift cards just for working out. I don’t see anything better! Then recently they switched to a point system. The new point system comes out and you can redeem something known as “a mystery gift” Here comes a sad optimist like myself thinking I’ll get something decent for waiting a saving up for so long! Was I so wrong. It tells you your potential for something up to $140 in value. (I get what “up to” means) But after all the grind it felt like getting spit in the face. Like “thanks for falling for our elaborate scam to get you to workout! For your prize we’ll cover the taxes in our own store” Not worth the grind in my opinion. Reward yourself don’t rely on an app that’s trying to take your money to spend on failed products their investors think are “cool”

First and foremost - thank you for being a long-time supporter of Paceline and our mission to get people moving. We equally appreciate your candid and thoughtful feedback of the Paceline app and our rewards platform. Your sentiment is understandable and we certainly don't want to dismiss your views or feelings, but we would like to try to offer some context on some of the points you raised. With respect to the former Paceline Credit Card program - we have since parted ways with our now-former banking partner and card program manager, Railsbank, since they were unable to achieve our vision to bring a better, new card program to life. Ultimately, it meant that specific credit card program has ended, but this certainly does not mean the end for the Paceline Credit Card altogether; we'll most definitely be back with another card program in the future. Regarding the Mystery Gift(s) specifically - as we state within the app itself, it is worth reiterating that the potential rewards being offered ARE random. The higher the value, the smaller the chance to win it; but still random nonetheless. It's justifiable to be disappointed that you did not receive a reward of higher value, but it is not the case that a higher value reward is guaranteed irrespective of the amount of Pacepoints spent on the specific Mystery Gift. We fully recognize how users would ideally like to see gift cards every week and for amounts of higher value. It’s not lost on us that the currently available partner rewards to up-and-coming health and wellness brands (though none of which are decided by external parties or investors, to be clear) may not be the best fit or greatest motivator for everyone. Our Partnerships team is constantly working to feature new and exciting partnership opportunities in the Paceline app, but we’re also actively looking for additional ways that we can provide value to our Paceline app users that continue to motivate them to stay physically active while also allowing us the opportunity to grow so that we can continue to expand upon our rewards platform and other financial incentives that provide even greater value to ALL of our users. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at productfeedback@paceline.fit if you have questions or additional feedback to share.
