Transaction Notifications

Hello, I would like to provide some feedback on the application. Is there a way to allow the app to only have push notifications and not sending it as a message? I know the app gets littered with a bunch of transaction messages for which you have to clear them out each time, but other banks that I use just have a push notification that comes through and you don’t have messagesinside the app clear out so it’s like you have to clear them out twice. That could be implemented?

Thank you for your feedback! To ensure our customers receive the alerts they set up, when an “in-app message” alert is sent, a push notification is delivered for convenient and timely communication. Meanwhile the alert is also available in their Messages within the app. This ensures they receive the alert if the push notification is dismissed or if they have push notifications turned off. Alert messages will expire from your inbox after a period of time. These are different than conversations you might be having with our customer service within your app. Conversations will stay in your inbox until you remove them. We will pass along your feedback to our developers.

Horrible banking app

Horrible banking app ! I do a lot of mobile deposits from being on the road this app is by far the worst thing ever all it ever says is deposit amount is wrong . Soon as I get back to Missouri I’m moving banks

We encourage you to make sure your phone and app are both up-to-date. If it continues to say the amount is wrong, it could be the writing-clarity or a lighting/contrast issue. If the lighting is poor, the check cannot be read by the app. Make sure you’re in a well-lit area with a contrasting background. We’re happy to help if you’d like to give us a call. 800.943.8488

App works great, unless your phone just stopped being updated…..

I loved using the SMB app until it stopped being compatible with my iPhone 7. (Days ago, and without warning)
I’m not planning to upgrade my phone right now so I’m completely out of luck and ended up deleting the app. I opened up a different FDIC insured online bank account and now get a better interest rate and can effortlessly transfer money if needed. (Like I used to do on SMB’s app) It’s a shame that this has happened because I do like to support local, but as I am the primary bill payer and budget builder, not having instant access to my balances or being able to transfer anything while traveling was a huge Nope for me.

Long story short: as long as you have a new phone, this would probably work for you.

We understand your frustration. While our app requires a minimum iOS version for the security of your financial information, you may still login on your phone through a mobile browser like Safari to view balances and transfer money. We appreciate your business and hope to serve you in the future.

New update

I can’t get in the app anymore because it requires iOS 16 and my phone only allows up to iOS 15.8. So I guess I just don’t get to see my account anymore.

If your iPhone does not allow additional iOS updates, this is due to Apple no longer supporting your phone in regards to their required security updates. For the security of your accounts, the mobile banking app requires devices to be current with security updates. You can still access your account by using a web browser on a phone or computer at www.smbonline.com. SMB always takes care of all my needs. I have never had any issues with SMB but any issues I have had, they have addressed immediately. SMB is awesome.

Every time I open the app I’ve got to close it and reopen it to see up to date transactions. Just a small glitch but very annoying.
