Returning SC 201
What the camera specifically because it had an easy access app to the videos. The app is absolute garbage as is the camera since you can’t get tattoo to link up when you need to. If that you cannot work together then it is absolutely useless to most people. I will be taking the camera back to the store and I advise anyone thinking of buying a camera or radar detector where you would require the use of the app, do not buy this garbageimjasper
Absolute Garbage App
I’m not sure if my Cobra SC201 is any good because the Drive Smarter app is absolutely worthless and makes it almost impossible to pull videos from the dash cam. The tech support hours are only M-F from 9:00 to 5:00, which makes it difficult to contact since those are during my work hours. I tried emailing support but haven’t received anything back after 48 hours, not even a confirmation email. I am returning my dash cam and never purchasing another Cobra product again.Tattooed Geek
APP NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!
I have the eacort ix radar detector with the attached m2 dash. I’ve only once been able to take video off the app and save it to my phone radar has always been awesome and the camera is amazing quality. However the app Drivesmarter that supports the m2 camera is absolutely garbage and never works unfortunately. I have nothing wrong with escort the company but who ever hosts the drivesmarter app for them need to do an app overhaul or something. I should have listened to the reviews when purchasing the m2, camera is great quality but I can’t get the vids off the app. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!! Should have just stuck with the m1 camera with lesser quality. Escort I believe hosts their own app for the m1 and the app has much better reviews. Both companies are losing out on money because of this poor app. PLEASE OVERHAUL THE APP OR FIX EVERYTHING!!!!!!!I dont review apps but htbd

Cobra SC 200D Camera and Smart Driver App are Great!
It is the first time my wife and I owned a dash cam. I installed the front and rear cameras a week ago and have used them since then. The owners manual gave great directions for setting up and operating the cameras.
The Drive Smarter App is well designed and formatted for ease of use. We were initially apprehensive about the app after reading all the negative reviews but it works great! Today, I talked with Cobra technical support (TS) and reported two items for them to consider on future updates. The app only works on one smart phone per SC 200 or SC 200D. This was not mentioned in the owners manual. Second, I couldn’t find the rear view (aka cabin) camera recordings on my iPhone. TS told me the recordings are located in the Gallery below the front camera recordings. The rear recordings were there.
I asked if there was anything else I should know and the TS asked if my power cord was plugged into the mount or the top of the camera. I said into the mount. The TS said good because power to the mount supplies power to the GPS equipment located in the mount as well as to the camera. If it was plugged into the camera, then the recordings will not contain the GPS positions onto the recordings.
After giving enough time to study the owners manual (downloaded from the Cobra website) and a call TS for guidance, we are very pleased with our SC 200D equipment and the Smart Drive App. Happy Father’s Day!David A Dow
Battery hog
I only open the app like once to set up the dash cam and I noticed that my phone battery just dies I check the iPhones internal battery management system it has the most battery usage out of everything I use once I uninstalled it the battery went back to normalMewPanic
Well intentioned but very buggy
The app is well intentioned and has lots of potential. However it’s very buggy and slow. For example, to set up a time zone and date, the app does not change time zones and does not recognize am/pm. I’m sure a company that has been in business for so long g could have done a better app.mrc08
Garbage
Don’t buy if you need more than one or two of the features listed. App is one of the worst things I’ve ever come across. It keeps saying I have to get the newest update. I download it, it installs, reboots and says successfully installed and then I’m prompted to download it again before anything will work. Total garbage. I suggest you don’t buy it because it’s just going to Lisa you off from its lack of functionality. Will be returning it and go with another brand.thebaldtorment
Poor app and poor customer service.
Well even with the last update there is still more broke than working. Will not display speed limits, not showing any alerts of any kind that my detector is picking up and the app is showing nothing in terms of things flagged by others.
Add to this that I was an early adopter of the MaxCam 360 and it still has very few of its “technologies” working. It will not work with any UConnect in car wifi which is AT&T. It displays no speed limits, shows no alerts tagged by others, and the list goes on and on. I’ve worked closely with a member of their team and am told that fixes are coming but here it is 8-10 months later and it’s still nothing but a very basic radar detector for 4 times the price.Elarson5757
