  • Great machine and software improving

Nothing else on market with the weight capacity and build quality. Application seems to be aggressively develop at the moment. There is a new isokinetic mode in beta and frequent quality of life and big improvements. Recently launch is the web portal for users to list out their wishes. Heading in the right direction. Highly recommend.
  • Good app but missing some quality of life features

The app works pretty well but a little buggy and I would like the ability to alter the weight/reps mid-workout without having to stop/start the workout.

    Developer Response

Appreciate for the feedback! 🙏 Great suggestion: the team were discussing a QoL change to support modifying workouts between sets this last week. If you can point us to specific parts of the app you experienced bugs, we’ll likely be able to address them over the next week or two as we focus on improving performance and reliability, particularly in core flows.
  • Extremely Disappointed

I’ve owned the machine for over a year. The hardware is great, no complaints there but it doesn’t work without the software. And saying the software needs improvement would be an overstatement. Updates to the software are infrequent sometimes many months apart. Even then, there are small changes. While overall, the UI has improved the experience, Laginess, and overall errors have increased. Once your subscription runs out even the most basic safety features are paywalled (such as sound to indicate your reps, end of range of motion, and beginning of set) you are limited to a just lift mode that is quite buggy and doesn’t even have any of the new modes that the machine is otherwise capable of handling. All this has led to me too contemplating selling this, going with another device or an old-school squat rack. I’ll probably stick it out for another few months, but I’m almost at my wits end.
  • I want to love the Vitruvian but the app doesn’t work

I have ten years working in software so I’m use to the standard troubleshooting steps. However the app regularly glitches out leaving me unable to finish my workouts without spending as much time working on the app as I do actually working out. I want to believe in the Vitruvian but it consistently lets me down. I recommend the Tonal instead because in my experience it is reliable and I am able to complete workouts on it just fine.

  • Love Equipment, App is Ehhh

I would recommend Vitruvian to people, but the app is not good. I get random bugs, especially with confirmation sounds not playing for reps and the latest version won’t play set completion sounds. The app also regularly disables sounds and I have to toggle them back on for some reason. It’s somewhat of a safety hazard if you’re expecting another rep and apply heavy force with zero weight on the cables.

The app has a lot of workout options, but this is a pro and con. The navigation is not the most streamlined since accessory options for a workout aren’t consolidated, but I appreciate how many options you do have available. Drop down to pick your preferred accessory to consolidate the list a bit would help.

I also find the app won’t easily let you dismiss it from your screen or the Dynamic Island if you need to end a workout before the last exercise. This happens consistently and should be pretty obvious and easily testable by the developers as something to fix.

Hope the app continues to get better, as the device is pretty solid. Keep trying please!
  • Best tech ever

Great reliable machine. Responsive team whenever app is acting up(rarely happens). Just overall 10 out of 10 with this machine great workouts if you wanna make them up on your own and awesome programs if you just want to switch it up.
  • App is getting better!

Loving the machine and how its so versatile. App is getting better and better. Awesome to see new updates. Keep them coming! Thanks Vitruvian. ‘Update: it’s been about a year since the last review. I can definitely say the app just keeps getting better. Keep the amazing updates coming’
  • “Doesn’t need a subscription”

This equipment technically doesn’t need a subscription to work but removes the most arbitrary features to make you resubscribe after the trial. For example, you cannot see workout history even if you are using custom workouts you created. Workout history includes reps, names of workouts, calories burned, and time you completed exercise in. The volume control feature is turned off too which seems unreasonable.

The user experience of the app is otherwise good.
