Greedy

The recent update fixed a bug that allowed users who were not subscribed to be able to use the “Just Lift” function of the machine. Now, you must pay the $40 monthly fee in order to use all features of the machine. So now, I have to pay $40 a month in order to use a $3000 machine. I understand if the guided workouts and programs were behind a monthly paywall, kinda like a class at your local gym. But forcing users to pay a subscription just to be able to have full functionality of a $3000 machine is asinine, greedy, and unfortunate. Shame on you Vitruvian.

Needs Work

Safety features locked behind a paywall. Constant pop ups and clunky interface. Very frustrating for such a pricey device.

Love the hardware, but the software is hit-or-miss

Features (like live activities) often stop functioning and workouts sometimes let off in unpredictable ways. Both of those can be really frustrating in the moment as predictability is probably the most important thing when you're in the zone.

There's also a lot of prioritization on Vitruvian's workouts over your own custom ones. I don't really want their workouts and would love to have my own prioritized and not see what amount to fullscreen ads for theirs.

Membership isn’t worth it

The app is necessary to use the machine and it works fine in that regard.. but the membership is nowhere near worth the subscription price in my opinion. The app is kind of hard to navigate. If you miss a day on the workout program, I wasn't able to find a way to begin the workout I missed and it forces me to do the current days’. The calibration really stinks, too, and the tutorial video doesn’t show accurate steps for the pro kit I have.

Machine not registered

Every. Damn. Time. I use just lift, it goes through the whole motion of telling me my machine isn’t registered because I’m not subscribed - I don’t need a subscription as I know what lifts I want to do, I don’t need classes. So why am I punished with this every time I use the just lift feature?

Great machine, not great app, painful customer support

The machine and accessories have been great for me, with a little over a year of ownership. The app on the other hand seems to have gotten worse and harder to use in some ways (for example, they replaced all of the instructional videos; they’re zoomed further out / harder to see). But the real issue comes when you try to report bugs. The customer support folks at Vitruvian treat bug reports as if the customer is wrong by default, and you have to work hard to convince them otherwise. A lot of skepticism and user blaming. They don’t try to ask questions to understand the issue. It’s frustrating. I don’t regret my purchase and I hope the company smooths things out, but there are some problems that need fixing with the experience

Amazing product

Researched several models that offered magnetic resistance and Vitruvian was hands down the best option. From the various lifting modes, self spotting and abundance of exercises, this was well worth the price. If you had to replicate the exercises with equipment purchases, the cost and space required would be counter productive for most people. You’re getting more than what you pay for with this! Too many positive aspects to go on.

Not value for money

Works well ish as a machine if you don’t have the space at home. The app stops working properly after a year thou, doesn’t record your workout or give you any data. Not really worth the money.

Great machine and software improving

Nothing else on market with the weight capacity and build quality. Application seems to be aggressively develop at the moment. There is a new isokinetic mode in beta and frequent quality of life and big improvements. Recently launch is the web portal for users to list out their wishes. Heading in the right direction. Highly recommend.

Good app but missing some quality of life features

The app works pretty well but a little buggy and I would like the ability to alter the weight/reps mid-workout without having to stop/start the workout.

Response from developer

Appreciate for the feedback! 🙏 Great suggestion: the team were discussing a QoL change to support modifying workouts between sets this last week. If you can point us to specific parts of the app you experienced bugs, we’ll likely be able to address them over the next week or two as we focus on improving performance and reliability, particularly in core flows.
