  • Actually works for me

I’ve been trying to cultivate a daily mindfulness habit to combat my anxiety for YEARS, and this is the first one that I’ve been able to stick to. Something about having to care for (and getting to bond with) a cute little winged cat actually keeps me coming back to this app, where streak tracking alone in other meditation apps has failed me. I’m not really good at caring for myself yet, but I will care for Amaru even when I don’t feel motivated to care for myself, and that helps.

  • Amaru is the sweetest self-care reminder!

I downloaded this app in August, and this little cat-type animal has me coming back every day. The dopamine hit you get from checking in and completing your self-care goals keeps you coming back because you want to see this sweet little cat every day, and you get so attached that you want to complete your self-care goals (journaling, meditation, lots of options) to keep leveling up your bond. This is like no other self-care app! It’s awesome.

  • Amazing, Phenomenal, Helped Me Overcome Negativity

Hello, Six Wings Studio and Team Amaru!
I have been looking for an app /exactly/ like this for several years now. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, and PTSD, and I did not know what to expect when I downloaded this app one day through a recommendation email from Apple. I have been wonderfully surprised with how much cute, devotion, and love was put into the game; I love Adventure/Fantasy games like Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy, so the art style is very beautiful as well. I am actively recommending this to my friends and family who are suffering and/or going through a lot themselves. 11/10, please continue making spectacular apps to help the community. 💜

  • This App Is Just What I Needed

As someone who struggles with self care and prioritizing mental health, I found this makes it much more fun and easier. I love the little notes of encouragement; for example, one of my favorites is “You are strong and validated.” This app really focuses on getting you to focus on yourself.
It starts out with Amaru being very anxious and untrusting of you. That is, until you do a self care task which usually involves a form of meditation. They have different categories and time lengths so you have options. I like to do some of them at night when I’m feeling especially anxious and can’t sleep. You can buy treats and feed Amaru, which increases your bond with him. You can also pet him. You can play mini games with him or have him explore.
I really enjoy the gratitude journal, because it helps me really think about the good things in my life.
I love the simplicity of the art. It’s beautiful, but not overwhelming. I also love the symbolism.
After interacting with Amaru a couple times, I couldn’t help but feel he was a representation of myself, mainly because I could not make Amaru calm and happy unless I was doing that for myself first.
I definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to improve their mental health and learn to prioritize themselves in order to become a healthier, happier person.
Please support this app’s very thoughtful creators and download it!

    So glad you're enjoying it!
  • Self-Care best friend

I absolutely love the app on the phone and I pad. Definitely one of the best virtual pets I own. I love the meditations, goal setting, and journaling aspects. There are only a few minor updates that would be fun: Add accessories to personalize your Amaru. It would also be nice to have more color choices and placement options. Additionally I would add a smartwatch integration with a clock face so you can easily touch base with Amaru on the go, and possibly convert exercise/steps into gems. Otherwise as it is I love this app!!!

  • I love it thank you!!

This is a great app that is really helping me with my mental well-being. It really helps to take care of a little pet and the self care advice is great. Thank you!! It is very helpful to have these encouraging steps within the app to focus on being positive, present and to show real kindness to yourself. I recommend to anyone needing a little support in a tough time.

  • Take care of yourself by taking care of someone else

If you’re like me and you can’t do things for yourself but you can do them for a pet, this is the self care app for you. Amaru is really cute, and it makes me feel more motivated to go into the app and feed him, then getting one reward for doing that makes me want to do a self-care thing to get another one. I also really like the gratitude journal, it helps to think of things I’m thankful for after a bad day. The only thing I dislike is having to pay so much for the rest of the features, but I don’t mind as much with this app since the free parts are so useful. Overall I really enjoy using it!

  • Went in skeptical and was proven wrong

I don’t know what it is about this app, but I really internalize the little encouraging messages it gives and found myself truly, substantially calmed after 20 minutes or so of playing around with it and doing a short meditation. I have severe anxiety and am also unfortunately susceptible to depression. Tbh, I gave this app a download just to see the cute cat and didn’t really expect much in terms of getting anything out of it. But I actually really like this app so far and I’m going to try and incorporate it into my daily routine.

  • Helps calm

I use it a lot when panicking to help calm myself down :) I recommend it to anyone who’s stuck in a mindset, it’s not a quick fix but it’s been working well for me!
  • Great app!

I got this app for the cute cat-bird thing known as Amaru but I come back for the guided practice, games, and still Amaru, he’s really cute.

The guided practices are great, you can choose how long many of them are which I love! I also am usually in a better mood after I’ve listened to one.

The minigames are pretty fun and I feel like they’re sharpening some if my skills like hand-eye coordination and memory(unlike a lot of the games I play). They’re also only available when Amaru’s awake which I like because it prevents me from playing them into the night.

The journals, or should I say journal, is nice and it reminds me to be grateful. The one thing I don’t like is how there’s only one I can use because it gets boring doing the same one every day but I heard there’s one you can unlock and I’m sure as the game develops, more will become available.

Lastly, the world building and atmosphere. I haven’t traveled very far in the app but I love when Amaru brings me back little things, I love the sparkles after I complete a goal and the little messages with it. There’s also the ambient noise, including the one within the guided practices that you can turn off when you want.

My biggest negative with this app is just that I can’t get myself to use it enough but that’s more on my end and the goal gems and aura really helps.
