This game is so much more than a game and it can help you feel better as effectively as one hour of meditation. It is complete, with meditations, journaling, caring for Amaru, collecting interesting and strange objects, exploring new regions, playing… I’d like to see in the near future one more journal, a journal where you can keep your thoughts and memory so you don’t have to use another journaling app for this purpose. And why not a friend for Amaru? Thank you for this amazing app and for keeping improving it!

  • Super helpful and super cute!

I’ve always been a fan of virtual pets and combined with my anxiety and how bad my stress levels have been since this pandemic started this has been the perfect help for me. I’ve actually brought this up with my therapist and she asks how I’m doing with amaru during our sessions. The meditations really help me to destress when I get overwhelmed which is super nice. I’ve never been able to meditate on my own and gotten anywhere with it. So these guided ones have really helped me.

  • Great self care game with lots of promise

This app is still relatively new with lots of content to come, but there is still a lot of substance to it as it is now. It has allowed me to start and maintain habits of gratitude journaling and meditating every day which I struggled with previously. (I’m currently on a 46 day streak!). The art style and animations are very charming and while the full version is (in my opinion) extremely reasonably priced, you still get a generous amount of content for free if you can’t afford the upgrade. I’d definitely recommend downloading it and giving it a go - you might fall instantly in love like I did, and you’ve got nothing to lose but an adorable companion and improved mental health to gain!

  • Love this!

I have never felt the urge to write any app review before, but this one has been so helpful to me, that I felt like I had to. I have anxiety and depression from chronic illness, and struggle to relax or do self care a lot of the time. I find the guided meditations super relaxing and the voice pleasing to listen to. I have been integrating the breathing exercises into my daily life, and enjoy being able to see Amaru and take care of him when I feel stressed out. All the nature sounds in each different location are very soothing, and I feel like this app is genuinely helping me to take better care of myself. I did pay for the full version, and I feel like with as much helpful content as this app has, it was well worth the money. I highly recommend this to anyone who struggles with self care and anxiety. ❤️👍🏻

  • Haven’t even bought the full but already one of my favorite mobile games

This game is amazing! I have not bought the full game, but it is already so good! I’ve been using this app every night for a few weeks now. It is really calming and since I started using it, I’ve been sleeping easier. The animation is great and so cute. The meditations are very effective. The mini games that I have access to with the free version are well made and relaxing but nothing special. Even if you don’t have the money for the full game, the free version is still amazing and has a lot to explore. Wether you are looking for self-care or just a cute virtual pet game, this app is great.

  • Best mindfulness app I’ve ever used!

I've used apps like Headspace and Calm, but wanted a meditation/mindfulness app that felt more unique. Amaru is beyond unique. There's nothing like it! I've been using the app every single day for nearly 3 months now. Taking care of Amaru has helped me feel such a stronger connection to taking care of myself. I'm just absolutely in love with the attention to all the small details, from the drawings to the story-writing – like the food and treasures that Amaru finds – I often screenshot them just because! I know a lot of people get bummed when they see they have to pay for certain features, but let me tell you, it's all worth it. By paying you support an amazing team of designers and developers working SO hard to make the magic of Amaru unfold. I look forward to when they allow you to donate games to others. I'll be first in line! That's how much I believe in this app :)

  • Keeps crashing

Just got the app but it keeps crashing when I go into the app.
  • App closing by itself

Hi, I’ve download Amaru for around two weeks, and it didn’t have much problems until a few days ago. It started to close itself when I’m about to enter the game shortly after the loading screen, is there any reason why that happens? I love the game besides that :)
  • Love the idea

I truly love the idea of this, but there is just so little to actually do, there are very few lessons and currently only 2 games, not at all worth the $12 😕 I can think of sooo many ways to improve this, like maybe Amaru can learn some fun tricks as we go along, or he can find toys on his journeys that he can play with, just give him more to do then just lie there. You also need more lessons, maybe teach other types of things, like yoga moves, or Taichi. Just please do something new because I’ve had the game for a week now and already tried everything you have available…and that’s just sad 😞

  • This is one of the best self care apps ever

I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression for a while now. I’ve struggled to implement helpful coping techniques and actually stick with them. This app really helps to do this. It gives you goals and rewards for taking care of yourself. It makes a game out of taking care of yourself in the best way possible. It’s not an automatic fix as nothing can make your worries just go away but it is an amazing step in taking care of yourself. Also Amaru is so cute!!! Sometimes he gets anxious or tired just like us and you have to take a second to calm him down with different techniques!!! Overall I love this app and hope it gets more attention!!!
