Car insurance

App works great very informative however having an issue where it doesn’t take the money out of the account automatically when there is money in the account for it.
Double checked the information I put in for the bsb and account number and it’s all correct.
I also removed it and put it in again and it still doesn’t work 🥲

Good but needs work.

The app works well and I can make a claim, view my policy and update details. The app is however really slow retrieving information from AAMI servers for a submitted claim.
Also don’t understand when I want to view a policy document the only option is for it to be emailed to you. Why can’t you open it from the app?
I’ve also had issues uploading additional photos to an existing claim and kept coming up with an error.

Difficult to write an email to ask a question about my car insurance

Hi I am a new car insurance customer as of today 6/5/24 and have spent the past 20 mins trying to find an email address to confirm a question ( in writing) on my new cover, the website directed my to the app which I have downloaded and still can’t find anywhere to send an email so writing this on your review page

I said twice on the recorded call that my car is for work use mainly however on the certificate of insurance it says primarily for private use
Does this need to be amended ?
Please advise at your earliest convenience

Terrible support team chat

Such a good way of wasting time on active chat box. One issue, multiple people involved, no one point to the main issue, just asking multiple questions multiple times. Why don’t they gave all information, all questions at a time? Took one week still policy not being changed. I have to cancel policy. Terrible time consuming.

Mostly good, but not really necessary

The app is almost great, but there are still some things you have to use the website for, like changing mortgagee on a home loan. It would be good if you could do everything you can do on the website on the app. I am better off just using the website all the time if it has more functionality. Considering how rarely I need to interact with my insurance policies I don’t really need an app on my phone all the time. It’s also frustrating that they push you to use the app as a means of contacting them with the messaging part of the app, but they are so slow to respond to messages that you are much better off just calling them if you need anything.

Poor design and no thought

I tried to use this app to communicate with AAMI about my insurance claim. It brings up your claim and number - great!

I used the app to query something about my claim using chat. The first thing they ask is your claim number, which is displayed in the app, but the AAMI chat rep could not see it. I thought I know! I will copy and paste the claim number into the chat; it's easy! NOPE! You can’t copy the claim number!
And you lose your chat session if you leave the chat app

Who designed a chat app where I can see the data I need, but the AAMI contact can’t see it, and I must type the number in?

Which means getting my quill and ink bottle out and finding some paper to write my details down!

Dumb and dumber.

AAMI don’t look after the old Customers

My house insurance, very expensive compared to other insurance. when I called, they were not willing to help. they said I made a claim that’s why my house insurance is expensive, that is incorrect. I did not make any claim my ceiling in the garage collapsed and I got in touch with AAMI assessor came and had a look and said it’s normal wear and tear I did not Clam. I will definitely be moving on to another insurance company for my car too

Easy to gain access to your information and to use.

I think the AAMI app is one of the easiest apps. to use. They haven't tried to over complicate it and navigating through various areas is a breeze.

Please fix weather/hail alerts

Any time I get an alert for thunderstorms or hail, I get the pop up notification no problem, but when I click on that notification and try get more info such as the map or where hail is expected I just get the login screen or a notice that you’ve updated your terms once again - every 3 days? - but then after I login there is no mention of the weather alert anymore.

Trips are unrealistic

I could never get a trip to work on my app. I have my location on with precise location, still never worked. Finally started working! Now I’m getting marked down for things like hard corners on roundabouts and hard braking in areas where I was actually accelerating etc The feature really doesn’t work well. I have to drive like my nan to get a good score and she’s dangerously slow and inattentive
