  • Can’t share events with others, unresponsive UI

I rely on my calendars to share events. It’s not an option I could find with this app

I had to touch buttons a couple times to get them to register and I can’t swipe from the left side of my screen to go back
  • Pretty weak attempt

This is pretty pathetic. I’m paying for the whole proton suite and I love the privacy proton offers, but this calendar app is laughably bad. I can’t invite others to calendar events through the app, I can’t click on hyperlinks, for a zoom invitation for example, and no one else can see the events I create through this app even if they’ve been invited to view my calendar. Every free calendar out there has mastered all these basic tasks, but I’m paying a premium for this joke? Put out an update and fix this mess already!!! Don’t embarrass yourself and tell me you aren’t aware of these issues. I’m just wondering why you’d put out an app well before it’s ready for prime time.

  • Love proton! but it’s a bit too basic

I want to switch fully to this calendar, but it made my phone super hot while adding my scheduled items; I only have about 7 right now. My phone is not plugged in for charging, it’s the newest iPhone and running up to date software yet this app just heated up my phone like I’m FaceTiming inside a sauna. There is no reason a calendar app should be using enough power to cause that. Otherwise it’s a great app,

2 suggestions to make it more user friendly:
    - add national/international holidays
    - add color options for the little dot on the calendar indicating a scheduled item.
Right now it’s just a green dot, but if I have multiple things scheduled I’d like to make more important items a different color; for example I’d make doctor appointments pink dots, school reminders blue, errands green… this way looking at my schedule I’d know immediately by the color dot if I could easily change plans for something that comes up or if I should see what other options are available because I see I have something less flexible that day. Not having to click on each day to see what I’m doing and have a general idea just looking at the month view would be much more convenient.

Thanks Proton team! We need more functional apps with proper privacy!

Thank you for taking the time to review our app. Please report the battery usage issue to us using the in-app "Report a problem" button so we can look into this further. We'd be happy to help you troubleshoot. The option to display your national holidays has already been requested before and we hope to add it to the Proton Calendar iOS app in future updates. In the meantime, as a workaround, you can subscribe to a calendar containing your national holidays from our web client (https://calendar.proton.me), which will then show up in the app as well. You can read more about this here: https://proton.me/support/subscribe-to-external-calendar. Currently, events inherit the colors of the calendar under which they are created. To change the color of your calendars, go to Settings → Calendars in our web client: https://calendar.proton.me. We intend to add the option to choose the color of individual events in the future as well. We will add your vote to this feature to help our developers prioritize future implementations. Please feel free to share any additional feedback you may have with us here.
  • Paid Proton User: Calendar disappoints

As a paid Proton Mail user I was excited to see the calendar for iOS launched this week. Coming from Fantastical I expected a lot. However, this calendar is very basic. I am a therapist and like to sync events into my calendar, along with reminders, and this cal does not have those options, yet! I have hope for improvement, but for now I will stay with what works for me.

  • Promising but needs more features

I need two things before this calendar can become my main agenda tool. (1) a month view that shows the events for all days, not just one day at a time. (2) ability to share calendars across multiple accounts, for a family or team.

Google calendar for ios does both of these well. Would love to see proton offer a similar feature set.

  • Been Waiting A Long Time

I have been waiting for this particular app for a long time. I will do everything in my power not to complain. Thank you for finally bringing your cal app to iOS.
  • Waiting

I've been waiting for this app ! However I am spoiled on Google calendar having the month view with headings where I can look at my calendar and immediately see what's going on instead of focusing on a little dot on a specific day and having to go search it out. Get that month view going and I will totally convert.

  • Great Start, Needs Search Function

I am happy this exists! It is new, and they will build it better as time goes on. I would love to see a search function so I can obtain the dates of matching appointments easily.
  • Barebones but it works

I’ve gone through the pain of manually inputting all of my contacts bdays. There’s no sync for that at the time of review. But other than that the app works very well despite how barebones it is. I’ve since made it my sole calendar app and I’m looking forward to continued improvements
  • Lacks features

As a Proton Visionary member I utilize the entire proton suit and I’m actively trying to move off Google. Now that the calendar is released it was really the last thing I was waiting on. But unfortunately this app doesn’t come close to feature parity to Google Calendar. I need more integration and synergy between the proton platform. But just on the calendar app alone here is my feedback:

    - location doesn’t populate/auto fill
    - no support for iPad resolutions
    - unable to share to calendar app from other apps.
    - no ability to sync other calendars (3rd party)
    - unable to invite people to calendar events

These are just to name a few.
