  • Good Start

We’ve been waiting for this day. Great initial release for iOS. I would love holiday calendar even if I could link google’s ics I would be happy. Also a list view like the apple calendar app would be much appreciated.
  • It's kind of buggy

First, my calendar won't decrypt. It just says "decrypting" below the weekly calendar screen and I cannot see any saved events. Second, when I try to create an event, half the time the keyboard won't open, though this happens on other apps to with the new iOS release. Finally, please add a way to change the alert tone. The default one is too quiet.

  • Finally!

I’ve been waiting for the Proton calendar app for iOS. I agree with some of the other comments about the app being fairly basic, but as a 3 year paid Proton Mail user I trust in and look forward to the future development and improvements of the app. Now that the notifications issue has been fixed, I’m using Proton Calendar as my primary calendar.

Since I didn’t see any other comments about it, here are my suggestions for features I hope to see in the future…

    1. Widgets!
    2. Ability to see holidays
    3. Ability to sync the calendar with contacts birthdays because I like to know when it’s someone’s birthday
    4. Ability to change the color of events- particularly to distinguish between all day events and isolated ones

Other than that, you guys at Proton are awesome and I praise you for the work you do in raising the standard of privacy! Thank you!

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback and support! Widgets, national holidays, contact birthdays, and event colors are all part of our roadmap for Proton Calendar, and we're working to implement these features over the following period. You can expect further improvements to the Proton Calendar app in the months to come. In the meantime, as a workaround, you can subscribe to a calendar containing your national holidays from our web client (https://calendar.proton.me), which will then show up in the app as well. You can read more about this here: https://proton.me/support/subscribe-to-external-calendar.
  • Basic functions needed

Please add Search function ability to look for keywords or events. Also please add function to Go-To a date. For both All platforms please. Thank you!
  • Shared calendars

Please add the functionality to include calendars that have been shared with you, not only calendars you have created. For example, my wife and I put all of our family events on a calendar that she created and shared with me. It shows up in my native iPhone calendar app but not in Proton Calendar.
  • I love everything Proton

I wish the app would have a notification next to the app to let you know something is pending for the day
  • This is not MVP

IMO, this should not have been released yet. This is a bare bones basic at best calendar app. Go to settings, there are none! Cant send invite, can’t show week, it’s slow, no widgets, doesn’t show the day number on the icon, no year view, can’t press and hold to create event, no multiple account calendar.. Additional work is needed before I can switch to this calendar.

  • Need Support for Additional Calendars

Nice to finally have a calendar app. One issue however…. I have two Proton email accounts where I receive event invites and only see an option to login to one account at a time. I would like the ability to access both accounts to show events from both or filter as needed with the check box. Am I missing something? I see the option to check or uncheck the calendar which portends that this feature is maybe coming soon?

    Developer Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. The option to log into multiple accounts in the Proton Calendar app is not yet available, however, this is something we're considering adding in the future.
  • Works great especially for Version 1

Can we get the option to add images to calendar events? Also, maybe I’m just missing it, but why can’t I make a .ics file open in the app from my phone? Currently I have to use my computer to add that file type to my calendar.
  • Needs month view

Mostly good. Haven’t used it much yet, mainly because there isn’t a month view. I don’t want half the screen taken up by a day I don’t have anything scheduled. I need to look at the month ahead without a day breakdown.
