Reviews of Awesome Habits

  • Very helpful

Update: The developer responded to my concerns, which is appreciated. I figured out how to use Apple health with this, but it only syncs FROM Apple health, not TO it. I would prefer if it synced both ways. One other thing that I would like is if it added an option to sync “state of mind” from Apple health, and then have some sort of chart or statements about correlations between your mood and habits. That’s the only thing it’s really missing IMO. Overall I’ve really been enjoying this app. It’s really well thought out, and quite customizable. It’s motivating me to stay on track with my habits.

The apple health habits are not working. I have habits turned on in apple health and have iCloud backup on. The problem is I add an Apple health habit, but there is no way to mark it off as completed. When I tried contacting them for help, it is asking me to download the mail app, which I do not use. So, two big problems.. no contact info, and apple health habits not working. I like the app otherwise. I am in the free trial, but likely will cancel unless these issues are resolved.

    Developer Response

Update: Thanks for your additional feedback! Third-party apps currently can't read State of mind data, but it looks like new options are coming with iOS 18, we're exploring them now. We will definitely consider adding this feature in future updates. ----- Thank you for your feedback! Our app supports Apple Health, but currently only in read mode. To update your health metrics, you can use the Apple Health app or some dedicated app available on the App Store. The ability to update Apple Health records directly from the app is likely to come in future updates. We're sorry that you couldn't contact us directly from the app. As you said, it requires an installed email app. We will definitely look into this issue. In the meantime, you can always contact us at feedback@awesome-habits.com
  • Awesome Habits. Awesome App.

Every time I start with a new productivity system I over complicate it. Not with this. Empty rings bad. Filled rings good. Habits are incredibly simple to set up and customize. Back filling is easy and day/week/month views are great. The widgets put habits front and center and performing a habit has become a welcome alternative to getting swept up in social media.

With my setup, a “meh” day means about 70%— C work, but a better baseline (and better streaks!) than I’ve had in the past. 100% days really count and include a mix of baseline habits, tracked dietary needs, and other positive activities.

I only have two (minor) complaints:
    - You can seemingly only change the primary ring color by changing the app to mono. Can we please set the primary ring color separately?
    - Similarly, you can’t set colors on lists, so you have to manage lists and colors separately. List colors, still separate from individual habit colors but with the option to apply to all habits, would be hugely appreciated.

    Wishlist:
    - Expanding on the above, a view with a circle for each list’s progress with respective colors + an icon for each
    - Mark a habit as “Bonus” so it contributes to the total percentage in a way that can exceed 100%

My recommendation— Get it. There are similar apps out there, but none that balance simplicity and functionality in such a satisfyingly iOS-like way.

    Developer Response

Thank you so much for your positive review and ideas for improvement! More list customizations are likely to come in future updates. We'll definitely consider your other ideas as well! If you have any other feedback, please let us know anytime at feedback@awesome-habits.com
  • Awesome!

The app works really well! Enjoying it.

    Would love the following features:

    1. All me to make a goal out of any Apple health metric, I don't think you need to build them all in, but rather just a section within the "custom habit" to pick a health stat so that it can automatically connect to that health data.
    2. An "On or Off Track" status indicator for the habits that are weekly or monthly as well as one for the daily status. In other words if my status is weekly, but it's tracking sugar intake, I really have no idea if I'm on track with my goal or not which forces me to to some math in my head "ok we're halfway through the week and it looks like I'm less than halfway done so I should work on this today" rather than seeing the gap between where I should be and where I am, or inverse, the fact that I can ignore that habit today because I'm already ahead. Without this feature it makes weekly and monthly goals difficult to achieve.

    Developer Response

Thank you very much for your feedback, we're happy that you are enjoying our app! We will definitely consider both of your suggestions for future updates. As for Apple Health support, you can already find the most common metrics in the templates, and we plan to add more in the future. What specific metrics are you missing?
