  • Don’t be fooled, it’s not free

Asks u for all ur personal details, making you do a long mental health survey thing. You get to the end of it, it gives you your results and begins to talk about a plan. You think, great we are getting somewhere! Then, BOOM, the only way forward is paying a sodding subscription.

Such a joke. I have no quarms about apps (particularly those providing good service) charging. BUT make it obvious you have to pay before you waste my time. This app is also advertised as FREE. Categorically incorrect and misleading. Put the price tag at the start please. If this is endorsed by NHS (one of whom’s principles relates to TRANSPARENCY), you really need to sort it out. #Sad times and I hope you don’t keep peoples data once they delete the app.
Don’t let them pull the wool over your eyes too.

Hi icedlattegirl, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We apologise that you felt mislead about the subscription cost. We understand the importance of transparency and strive to communicate this clearly to our users. We offer a free account to view a snapshot of your results, but to continue with a care plan, we do charge for the subscription. Details of the paid subscriptions in the app are outlined in our ads and in the App Store description, including details of subscription options, prices, free trial periods, and cancellation terms. We apologise if this wasn't clear, and we'll take on board your suggestion to emphasize the pricing information at the beginning of the assessment to avoid any confusion. We want to assure you that we take the privacy and security of our users' data very seriously and we adhere to strict data protection regulations. Thank you again for your feedback. If you have any further feedback or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. support@letsmindstep.com
  • Brilliant

I rarely leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so for this app. Extremely user-friendly, filled with useful information and it’s had a meaningful impact on my life. I’ve been telling all my friends about it.

  • Disappointed a bit

I don’t know how to explain it but I have a medical condition which I have been trying to get sorted for the last 5 years after my surgery went wrong, the reason I have put disappointed a bit you never actually asked if there was any medical issues I have.

Hi Nickhurl, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We completely understand why you might have felt disappointed and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective. If you could email us any more details at support@letsmindstep.com, we can look into including it as an option in the app going forward if we believe it's something we can assist with. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback and for helping us improve the Mindstep experience!
  • You need a subscription

I though I would try this out. One issue I noted was that you cannot pause or restart the initial assessment. My bad, but I was travelling and had 3 days between starting and finishing (so I could not remember the initial word list well).

Once you get to end of the assessment you get 2 options - paid annual subscription with a discount or a monthly subscription with a 7 day free trial. I decided I couldn’t be bothered with the remembering to cancel thing so deleted the app.

Perhaps I should have tried the trial but 7 days isn’t long enough In my experience and I would prefer a free version with adverts or reduced functionality.

I did have some display issues on iPhone (graphics off the top or bottom of the screen).

Hi Johnny 3G, Thank you for giving Mindstep a try and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that you encountered some challenges during the initial assessment. We do appreciate your feedback on the subscription options, and we understand that a free version of the app with reduced features would be more suitable for some users. We'll take your comments into account as we work on future updates to the app. Our team is currently investigating the display issues you experienced on your iPhone and are working on a fix for it, so please stay tuned for updates. Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback with us. If you have any further suggestions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@letsmindstep.com.
  • Hmm

Maybe I missed something but I told the app I have chronic fatigue syndrome and the top tip is I should do more exercise. If I do it makes my condition worse. Which is a fairly widely understood issue. Not sure this convinces me to part with cash. It might be fine other than that or for other people.

Hi there DoogieNotrab, First of all, thank you for sharing your feedback. Your insights are crucial in helping us improve Mindstep! I'm sorry to hear that the top tip provided by the app was not appropriate for your condition, and I completely understand how frustrating it can be when advice seems to overlook the unique challenges and limitations of chronic fatigue syndrome. As you mentioned, sudden increases in activity can often result in worsening of symptoms, leading to burnout. In order to avoid these negative effects, it's important to maintain a constant level of activity that only increases very gradually over a period of months. In fact, this is a common recommendation that healthcare professionals often provide to those with chronic fatigue syndrome. I hope this information is helpful and that you feel empowered to manage your condition in a way that works best for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns at support@letsmindstep.com

  • The Developer Should Check Their Own Brain Health!

After beginning the initial test, I only managed to provide a few answers before I was unable to continue because the options took up all of the screen space and there is no way to scroll down in order to proceed.

It’s fairly fundamental to any app that a user can navigate the thing. Whatever remarkable functions may be contained within the app are rendered useless by the inability to access them. It’s particularly fundamental for an app which is going to attract people worried about their cognition!

Hi Sam, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we understand how frustrating it can be when an app doesn't function as intended. Our goal is to ensure our app is accessible and easy to use for all of our users, especially those who may be concerned about their cognitive health. • Concept is good. Execution poor

I love the concept of the app and I think it would help but on the initial questions I couldn’t answer because the button to enter was too far down the screen. I don’t know if this is commons or not. Also why measure things in days? Personally I think that measuring in days is less useful because it can fluctuate during the day.

Hi hdsnkjrssgjj, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on our app. We're glad to hear that you like the concept and believe it would be helpful. We apologise for the inconvenience you experienced with the initial questions due to the placement of the button. We understand how frustrating that can be and are actively working to improve the user experience. Regarding your question about measuring in days, we chose to use this unit of measurement as it's the most commonly used in patient health assessments. However, we do understand your point that it may not be the most useful for everyone. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our app.
  • Not working

Was really enjoying the app but now whenever I go on it, it tells me my network connection appears offline. It isn’t offline, and I have tried it on multiple occasions (with data and strong wifi) and it always displays this message and am not able to use the app at all.

    Developer Response

Hi Meepsharrison, We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble connecting to the app, and we want to do everything we can to help get you back up and running. If you have any additional information that could help us diagnose the issue, please could you email our team at support@letsmindstep.com? In the meantime, one thing you could try is turning airplane mode off and on again, as this sometimes helps with connectivity issues. However, it's possible that there may be a system bug causing the problem, and unfortunately, this isn't something we can resolve from our end. The error message you're seeing is coming from the iOS networking system, indicating that there may be a problem with your device's connectivity when using Mindstep. We'll continue to monitor the situation and do our best to find a solution as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and understanding!
  • Why am I stuck on the “resume “ page?

I seem to be stuck on the resume page ( you know with the hands)… I’ve tried turning phone on and off again but can’t move forward on the app.

I also notice that (unless there are more questions), I haven’t been asked about other diagnoses. eg, is there a place to say that you are neurodiverse ? What about people with lds? I’ll be curious to know if it asks those kind of things.

Hi E. Clementine, thank you for reporting this to us. We've released a fix for this bug and it should work now. Regarding the ability to input existing conditions, Mindstep is a brain care app that assesses your brain health across multiple areas, and provides targeted care to improve your brain health over time - it has not been designed to diagnose or treat specific medical conditions, so if you have any concerns or questions about your brain health, we would recommend you reach out to a healthcare professional.
