NAV Drone User Reviews

Horrible app and not easy AT ALL to use.

This app requires a ton of effort to navigate through, and don't make an error where you might need to go back. It's not easy.

Not user friendly

Can’t enter coordinates of flight location in order to plan mission Won’t let you enter flight times start and finish Be more useful if could upload KML files

This app needs huge improvement

The idea of this app is great but I can say as a frequent user it is the most frustrating tool I use for my drone specific work. Not only is it very buggy but it is also so not intuitive. I’ve been a using an app for US flights called Aloft. This is a model of what nav drone could work towards? It is really intuitive and easy to use. It allows you the ability to go back in and edit existing permits and it just functions so well. Sadly we are stuck with the NavDrone app but hopefully there will be many improvements soon? so nice to use and gives the user a much better experience.

Broken Functionality

This does not show any restricted areas nor does it allow to request authorization. It seems to be buggy and unresponsive.

Not practical

The app is not very intuitive or helpful. Should take notes of USA B4UFly app which is very formative on airspace, and easy LAANC requests which allow certain altitude if near an airport. Much better than this clunk...

The DJI mini can’t fly anywhere ?

I don’t quite understand how your app works. Because any location I pick in Canada I cannot fly even with a DJI mini which is a sub 250 g drone. The question is why does it appear to be this hard?

Response from developer

To ensure a smooth planning process for micro drone operations, you must align the selected drone and category of operations fields. If you select a micro drone model, you must select micro drone as your category of operation. This alignment ensures accurate validation results. If there is a mismatch between the aircraft field and category of operation field, NAV Drone will return a “Not Allowed” Validation Result. While micro drone pilots do not need to register their drone or get a drone pilot certificate to fly them, pilots must not fly in a reckless or negligent manner as to endanger aviation safety or people. Micro drone pilots are expected to use good judgment, identify potential hazards, and take all necessary steps to avoid any risks associated with flying their drones.

Inaccurate info

To test the map I tried seeing if it would allow me to fly my DJI Mini 2 at the airport and it said it was allowed. This is inaccurate and misleading, sad to see such a big flaw.

Really bad.

Just go back to the old online submission form RPAS approvals. Please! This app isn’t user friendly or at all intuitive. It’s a pain to navigate and create an RPAS flight. What could have been a good experience is a major hassle.
