  • Cool app, but lacks some functionality

The app is very cool and does have some cool feature to it to keep track of all the to dos. But seeing that the basic version is all you get for when you need the subscription doesn’t make sense.

It would be cool if the paid version allowed you to add your own items not listed and add to dos with reminders for those. Pulling in manuals from newer equipment with maintenance recommendations from those would be a good feature as well.

A lot of this I can set up calendar reminders in my google account for free as a recurring event so not as much need to pay for subscription.

But the app overall has a great concept and lots of potential to be super useful for home owners. Especially if we could sit down with our maintenance manuals for the equipment to add periodic maintenance items that aren’t listed here.

Hi kdkevin10--thanks so much for providing your valuable feedback. It's great to hear what folks want so we can share with our product team. We are working on some cool new features, like adding custom items. Hang tight as more fabulous features are coming!
  • Forces you into subscribing.

You get a pop up saying you can check it out free for a month. You then have to click ‘got it’ which they feel counts as you agreeing to a subscription.
  • So far so good

I really like it so far. However, I really wish there were options for septic and well systems. Or also options to add your own tasks.
  • Disappointing for an expensive app

Half of the things that I try to add get me stuck on a “Please wait…” screen and never load. I have to force kill the app to get out of it. It is doing this when I try to add specific items, including a kitchen faucet, electrical panel, plumbing, and I’m sure others as well. I will be requesting a refund from the apple store.

  • Needs updates to be worth it

This app is great in theory, but for 4.99/month, the amount of bugs you run into is unacceptable. Several items never load (kitchen sink, trees, lawn, to name few) and just sit on the “Please wait” screen and the only way to back out is to force close and start over.

Hi Danielachante--we're sorry to to see that you've run into a few bugs. These should be resolved and would love for you to give us another try. If you continue to see any, let us know at upkept@cr.consumer.org
  • Great so far

This app is great to keep you on track of maintaining a home. I’d like for there to be an option for putting certain tasks on a certain month though.
  • Constant error messages

I downloaded and added a few things, but after I closed the app, I have had constant error messages. It won’t bring up the data I imputed and just says something went wrong. I have closed and reopened. Logged out. Reinstalled. Nothing is working. What a waste of time. I cannot believe they charge people for such a problematic app. I don’t know what all the app can do because I haven’t been able to use it. I am disappointed and upset at wasting so much of my time.

Hi AgLlama--we're so sorry to read the app isn't working right for you. If you'd like to provide more details on the error you're getting, shoot us an email at upkept@cr.consumer.org so we can take a look. The first 30 days are at no cost and if you'd like to keep access, you'll get a pop up at the end of the 30 days asking you if you'd like to continue and then you'll be charged.
  • Disappointing

I was really excited about the concept of this app - while technically the function is something you could recreate in many other apps or just your calendar, I love a niche app that is also aesthetically appealing, which this is. It’s fun to tap the icon for each element of your home, upload a photo, enter the model number, lifespan, etc. I love the concept of having all the information on each appliance or area of your home in one easy to find place, especially the different sections for receipts and parts.

I had to give only three stars (I almost gave just two), and I will be canceling my subscription, because the actual maintenance plans in general are *extremely* lacking. A few of the major appliances have more unique and tailored maintenance tasks, but the majority of the other “maintenance plans” are just annual “do a visual inspection”, “make repairs as needed”, “do a deep clean”. This wouldn’t be as disappointing if the app gave you an option to ADD your OWN tasks - but it doesn’t!

Customizing and adding your own tasks seems like SUCH a basic feature and I can’t believe it doesn’t come with this option. Heck, even just being able to adjust the frequency of the task would be better - cleaning my range hood only once a YEAR? It needs it far more often than that.

There is also no option to add your own appliances or home elements, which would be helpful as the ones available are limited. There’s no microwave, free-standing bathtub, patio, fireplace…lots of basic home elements.

I REALLY wanted to like this app, and I honestly never write reviews, but the creator of this app seems to actually notice reviews so I thought I’d give it a shot. Please, add these things if you can, and I’d be happy to renew my subscription!

  • Lots of Potential

Downloaded the app and went through the setup which was super easy and straight forward. There is a lot of useful info and detail maintenance plans for all kinds of home items.

One thing that would be a great feature is to include warranty tracking and notes about repairs. I’ve had to call in for warranty repairs and tracking down which items have 1/5/10 yr warranties is difficult.

Hi WoodlandlT--thanks for sharing your feedback and providing a rating. We're always working to improve the app and your feedback gives us great insight into what customers want.
  • I’m sorry but no

This app is purely to mine data from consumers to enable consumer reports to sell reports. That’s all fine and all but it’s insults to see that they want the end user to pay for this. Useless app
