Love it!
Honestly do not leave reviews on games very often but this one is an exception! I saw this game being advertised a lot and decided to download it because I love merge games even though they’re a bit brainless. I was immediately impressed and fell in love with the story! The art style is so adorable and all of the characters I’ve slowly become attached to. I’m only up to Day 9 and I’m seriously impressed.

Love love love! (And pies)
I absolutely love this game. It’s so much fun and I’m completely immersed in the story. Usually with games like these I fulfill orders for months and do the story little by little and end up hoarding coins, but I couldn’t stop with the story on this one! Not just the story is good either, the art is absolutely adorable, the furniture and decor options while remodeling are gorgeous, and it’s a very well paced game! Sometimes I have to set a timer for my energy to refill and force myself not to open the game until it’s done because I just can’t get enough of it! Also, the events always keep me on my toes and I love that. All that being said, I have one recommendation: an un-merge option. It could be like “watch an ad to unmerge this” or like a special item you get for completing story quests. Either way, the lack of this feature definitely isn’t a deal breaker. Can’t wait to keep playing! (Has my energy reloaded yet??)😁

Too Much Waiting, not very Strategic.

ARTWORK
As an artist, I can really appreciate the work that went into this game. The character designs are cute, the props are clear and the colour palette and animations are attractive, bright and fun.
GAMEPLAY
When you start to have a little bit of fun, the momentum is quickly halted b/c you no longer have enough energy to play. Sometimes when you do have energy to play, you are now waiting for certain props to “recharge”. I feel like I’m constantly waiting, and if I’m waiting in the emergency room in real life, plus waiting to play a game, this is beyond annoying. There isn’t enough time to really enjoy this game without ENDLESSLY sinking a lot of money to buy gems. Even when I use my gems to boost some items, it doesn’t feel like it’s worth it b/c you find yourself out of energy really quickly once again. If you want to buy energy again, the price has suddenly increased. I want to play a game without it feeling like it’s a money grab. And this is what this game feels like. The amount of gems required to boost items aren’t really worth it. AND the most annoying part of this game is the fact that you have to watch long winded commercials if you want “free energy” or “free recharge”. I should mention, this FREE stuff is limited and eventually they want you to pay to play. I’m happy to support a game with my hard earned money if I find it fun. This is lacking the fun factor because of the endless waiting, momentum killing and lack of any strategic play. It’s honestly mindless matching with so much waiting and a weak storyline. All games where you have to watch long commercials to play for “free” should be abolished. I HATE games like this and will soon be deleting from my device.
STORY
😴The story is ok if your an 8 year old girl. I’m not playing the game for the story, I’m playing the game to pass the time. However, if you’re big into stories, this one is a lot of none-sense with repetitive banter. It doesn’t feel like it is moving along when you finally accumulate enough coins to unlock something. I don’t feel rewarded for the long waiting or gems I’ve put into the game. It’s a buzz kill.
PAY TO PLAY
This game is nothing like the good Pay To Play games like Clash Royale or Clash Of Clans where you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. With good Pay To Play games, you still have to wait for certain things to unlock or regenerate, but you can still play and have fun endlessly while you unlock rewards FOR FREE! These are the types of games I don’t mind supporting with my money b/c it doesn’t feel like a cash grab! If I’m genuinely having fun, than a good game deserves my support. This game, sadly doesn’t have the wow factor I was hoping for. I got sucked in with the beautiful artwork, but that’s all this game has going for it right now.
FUN FACTOR
Once you run out of “Energy”, you also have to wait for your items to recharge. So even if you have enough energy to play, it feels like I’m constantly waiting. Waiting for energy, waiting for recharging, waiting for the horrible commercials. I just want to play the game without losing the momentum. I can’t justify paying to play this particular game because I’m still WAITING to see if it is going to be fun. 😔 The sad thing is, this game could be fun - there is a lot of potential! It just needs to lose those wait times, abolish the commercials, revamp the gem system, give better rewards, make it playable continuously (for free), and for the love of games - make it more strategic!!!

Best in class.
There are a couple of merge game paradigms. One is this type, where you merge items to fulfill orders. My enjoyment of these depends on the wrapping, since the gameplay is identical. And this is the best wrapping of this type of game out there. Most importantly is that there’s a continuing story to keep you interested. And I’m totally hooked on the story. I have never seen a f2p game with so much racial diversity and LGBTQ representation and it is so refreshing! I rarely spend real money on these games but I’m happy to support the development of such inclusive gaming.
Two points people have made. 1: The main character is in yet another romantic storyline. Yes, but there’s so much else going on, and I wonder if that reviewer was even paying attention, as he suggests an alternate storyline of her being worried about her mother…which is in fact the very plot of the game! 2: The game is designed to take your money/There’s not enough playtime before energy runs out. Um, is this your first f2p game? You don’t get a free game for actual free, dear hearts! At least this one doesn’t pummel you with ads for gems.
This is a game to play a few times a day, not as your main source of gaming, with a fun mechanic, adorable art, and inclusive storytelling. It’s a pleasure to spend money on it every so often. (No different from Patreon, really.)

Response from developer
Thanks for your awesome review and support! We really appreciate it and thank you for playing our game!
Play 2 • a day til plot drama just wrong now why?
I have played this game for 8 months. I until now, I loved it. The combining of items to get something else gives a sense of accomplishment. The decorating and cleaning is fun. The story, until now, was AMAZING! Warning, if you just want something you can do for more than 2 hours a day, for free, this is not your game. This game story hooked me. The story was what kept me coming back to this game. It was my happy game to play twice a day. Until… yep, things got just too much like someone’s bad real life situation for me. Why the storyline went from a bedtime story to soap opera, I don’t know. I feel betrayed. I would have given 5 stars originally but now I’m down to three out of respect for 8 months of good times. I think it best if I just look for another game with less bad situation vibe to it.

The Best Mobile Game
If you’re looking for a fun, easy to play/understand, game with an amazing story, this is the game for you. It isn’t the kind of game you can sit there and binge, rather a game of patience, where the gameplay is extended, and gives you something to look forward to. Nothing puts a smile on my face like getting the notification from Love and Pies that my energy is refilled. It is also so satisfying to complete tasks, and get pieces of the beautifully interesting story that is unfolding. Not to mention the competition aspect in later gameplay. I have never left a review on anything ever before, but a masterpiece like this deserves recognition.

Great game!
For once, an game that is actually like the ads! Genuinely free with no ads, basic merge game with an interesting storyline/renovation aspect to keep you engaged. Characters are multicultural without being tropes and LGBT+ inclusive. Graphics are pretty and the decorating options are varied so you can really build rooms to your liking. Love this game all around, well done to the devs.

My bus driver said “top of the morning to you”
I love this game so much, by far one of the best mobile game ads I’ve had: there’s loveable and diverse characters, a perplexing and interesting story, and simple but still fun gameplay. All the ads for this game are honest to the game too, no click bait.
Definitely recommend downloading.
The title has nothing to do with my review btw

Needs new quests
Please stop recycling the same 3 quests one after the other. I enjoyed them maybe the first two rounds, but now it’s just ridiculous. Not exciting at all. Actually I might as well uninstall it. Why am I giving this so many chances to improve? It’s taking the Mickey out of this - like, someone suggested there be more quests and then the develop just does this. Pointless .

Love Love Love (and pies)! 💞🥧
I’ve been playing this game for a few months now and I still love it possibly even more now. I am INVESTED in the story and I never want to stop playing. This is the only game I’ve ever spent real money on. It gives three paid packs a day which I find great because not only are the prices good (unlike most games that want you to pay hundreds for a few gems) and it limits how much money you spend in one day. For me that says that the developers really care about the players experience and not money grabbing. The game doesn’t shove tonnes and tonnes of paid packs or tabs in your face before you can actually play anything and doesn’t have ANY unnecessary ads. The only ads you watch are ads you CHOOSE to watch. The game is really well made and the art style is lovely. The design options are just enough (could be more but not really needed) and I have only found one tiny glitch where edwinas face was distorted during a conversation in the story but that is all. The only things that could be improved is waiting time for energy and to produce the things you need to merge since it can take a really long time to merge items at a higher level without using loads and loads of gems. A few more events could be added over time since you just get a rotation of the same three (one being a new addition which is very good). However this game is amazing and I’d recommend it to everyone! I just hope that the game stays amazing over time!
