  • Light rail security

They need to get on the homeless and drugged out people more before then even start approaching us working people why are we paying for them to ride free ??? They make us get off too and They ALL know the machines don’t work either and still try to make You get off on the next stop knowing we got A set schedule for work appointments etc. if the machines don’t work at the stop getting on then don’t make us get off the next to just pay and get on when the drugg users get no hassle SHAKE MY HEAD gotta deal with this every time I ride.

  • New update

Used to like the app because it made it easy to just buy a certain number of full day passes or one ride passes. Me having a set route and number of busses I have to take to work made it even easier to purchase the passes. Now however it doesn’t give you that option. Now the only the option to just load money onto your app which only allows set amounts and basically just forces you to leave the left over money not used for fares to just sit in the app. Very frustrating because then it’s a whole process to have the money refunded which takes a few days….

  • Dangerous

App works fine, the problem is when I was on the bus there were people arguing with the bus driver because there weren’t any places to buy bus passes nearby and didn’t have a smart phone either. They had cash, but because of the way the system works an argument ensued. The driver just let the people on the bus. This update created a dangerous/hostile environment both on the bus and at the stops. I hope 3.0 doesn’t stay the way it is, makes me want to just Uber places from now on even if it costs a leg.

  • Cost

The app itself is fine. I dislike how it use to be $4 for all day passes through the app to get me to and from work now I’m having to pay $2 for every bus I take because now they are only one way rides I’m spending $10 a day and nothing has changed for the prices to be that high. The buses are still late homeless people that soiled themselves still ride the bus drivers are still rude couple more dollars and you can get an Uber and get to your designation faster. I understand taking away the paper bus passes, but taking away the all day bus passes in the app was wrong

  • What are we doing here?

Insane update. I don’t know why “adding funds” is important to the user experience, where is the option to buy a 1-day pass (hint: it’s nowhere)? Why do I need to add $5 increments to my account before I can buy passes? Why can’t I pre pay for passes on the app anymore? Why aren’t my passes showing up after I scan? And they’re transitioning away from paper tickets, what if someone doesn’t have a smartphone? They just can’t ride? I know there’s multiple people working on this app, someone has to know this is a terrible update. What are we doing here?

  • Ok app.

I would have rated this app five stars prior to the new smart fair system. Bus times are generally accurate or stay up to date with the bus- it does its job in that regard.
The “new” smart fair system the app uses isn’t as intuitive as the old pass system. Its confusing and puts an extra degree of separation between fare users and their ticket which I do not think is useful, and makes the process more complicated than it needs to be.

  • Good app bad company

I really like the potential that this app has. So far the companies that make up valley metro (or whatever) make it so the app is trash. 1 out of 3 trips are cancelled and the app just says “delayed 5 min” until the next bus comes or “scheduled, no live vehicle data” until after the time the bus is supposed to be there then it will suddenly say cancelled. If there was a way these companies could communicate that a route trip is cancelled earlier through the app it would really help otherwise just standing at a bus stop while two buses that were supposed to be there never come in 115 degree heat is killer while the app keeps telling you. If I actually knew when the buses were coming I could plan accordingly.. any updates to address this would be flipping awesome! </end rant>

  • Alright

Good app with a few flaws. The location of a bus can be refreshed manually by retapping the stop and time. This gives a more accurate location versus waiting for the gps of a bus to track by itself on a certain interval, which takes longer to happen. There should be a refresh button added for the route.
Second: There is a rare bug which relocates the location of a bus to the equator, and it's already happened a few times on Scottsdale route. This does not disappear after restarting the app. It goes away by itself but it's weird that it happens and should be checked.

  • Useless App

I find this app to be useless in the early morning hours especially on the weekends. It doesn't show the buses that are supposed to be running I. The early morning hours of 5 am. I have been using google to track the buses but even now Google Maps has become just as useless. Considering I spend exorbitant amounts of money just to take public transportation one would think that the app that’s developed for that specific task would work better.

    Developer Response

We're sorry you weren't able to track the location of your bus. If the issue continues, we encourage you to email us at csr@valleymetro.org with details about the route and time so we can investigate the issue.
  • Thank you

    Your bus driver was awesome
My family kind of left for their flight with out any help or a plan for my later flight. I think the driver’s name is Geraldine but gave me all the information I needed and a ride to Panera. It’s surprising how friendly a complete stranger is compared to your own siblings. Thanks again and please consider giving her a raise. She is route 184 and picked me up at the airport at about 8:30
