I really despise app developers who insist on forcing the subscription at launch. Yes, it’s free for 7 days… and easy to cancel… but all this method says to me is “sign up now and we really hope you forget to cancel”. Earn my subscription don’t force it. Semi new to the electric car world. This app is a LIFE SAVER. Worth every penny!!! I love that I can control what charge I want to be at when getting to chargers. Also love that I can see amenities close by!electriccarman

Their developer response person can claim the annual subscription is optional all day long, but you cannot interact with this app without agreeing to it. Thankfully you can cancel immediately and not be out any money to learn that this app doesn’t seem to do anything useful. I’m glad Apple makes it easy.
This app came up as the top option when I was searching for the app that works with a charger that had a non-functional card reader. I stupidly assumed this app would be able to help me.Show lessFarmikev

The App mimics the local power company App for FPL. If you are reading this, beware this is NOT the authorized FPL Evolution App. FPL does NOT charge a service fee or annual subscription. They are very much aware of the scam and are working on getting this resolved, but the Apple Store is still allowing the App for reasons unknown.Show lessDaniel Lake

It’s a good start for the app when it comes to its look, listing charging stations and being able to filter by make and model of your EV. Issues that need to be addressed is to have the option to filter only available stations. Also there’s no instructions on how to pay from the app when at a pay station either by loading funds or by using Apple Pay. With those features lacking I’m left scratching my head why the monthly/annual premium subscription fee is significantly higher than apps like Plug Share that include these features. 🤔Show lessImagine Engine
Extremely misleading
They pay to come up first for various apps that represent charging networks. You can’t even get into app until you agree to a subscription (that they’re hoping you forget to cancel).
The app does nothing but give you info on chargers around you. You can’t use it to pay for the network you probably intended to download the app for.
It’s intentionally misleading and they lock you into a sub booted you can even get in to see what it’s really about.

Where we shine is providing detailed, accurate information for any location or trip you might have in mind, so you can always rest assured that you're where you want to be. Our app does offer you an optional 7-day trial of our Premium service upon sign up. This can be easily canceled in-app or in your phone's Settings if you aren't inclined to use the several great features that come with Premium. Canceling Premium does not inhibit your use of EV Companion at all, and much of the app still makes for a great companion without Premium! Again, I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience. I realllllly don’t like when developers con users into subscriptions. It makes it an unusable app if I can’t even try the free version at all before deciding if I want to test out premium features. Deleting immediately. Make it so I can use the app at all without having to try a “one free week” subscription, maybe I’ll give you another chance. Otherwise… scam. Be sure to note, that despite the fact this app will pop-up whenever you search for any vendors charge payment app, it does not perform anything other than allow for charging station searching and their details. A tad frustrating, especially when it immediately prompts for subscription fee and all you want is to pay for a charge.Show lessMe6473729293
