Nothing Mobile about Wireless Go
Prior to purchase please consider that as of this moment, and for the many months before this moment after the Wireless Go II’s release, there is nothing mobile about this set up. There is no support for truly mobile creators, whether it be via iPad or iPhone. You will need additional cables only to interface with an app that doesn’t allow you to even download your files (that must be done on a traditional computer).

Seriously??
I bought it because I DON’T HAVE LAPTOP and now for use this app I need laptops?
Ugh, Røde Proprietary Cable Required
So, I just got an Apple USB-C to Lightning cable in my xmas stocking. I figured I'd see if Røde Central iOS would function with my WGo2 devices. Nope! Røde wants to sell cables, so punters will be required to purchase the Røde proprietary cable...So, I haven't actually tried the Røde Central iOS app. I do use Røde Central desktop app often, and IMO, this software is so limited that it can be frustratingly anger inducing...especially for advanced users. There is just so very little that can be done in Røde Central and firmware has to be updated or lose your recordings...
so move the recordings off your WGo units immediately, folks.

SC 15
I was extremely excited about getting my new rode II mic’s until I downloaded and updated the mobile app to find out that it is extremely hard to find the correct SC 15 cord to use with the mobile app. I don’t want to spend that kind of money on it to find out that it is not compatible or the corresponding C type to use with the app. Heart breaking that I can’t use the app on my phone. Like a bad dream that you never wake up from or constantly have being that I keep trying to see if it will eventually work. NOT!! I should have gone with the Dji mic’s.

Good cable, devices updated to latest firmware, connects fine to pc and mac…. ipad pro nope needs latest firmware… which it has. How good is the software.. no idea.
Do this to get it working
I have the app working on my iPhone SE 2020 and my iPad Air 4. It's value is that it lets you change the mic settings with a mobile device; there is no access to the recordings. Hopefully that's coming soon. (Attention Rode: many of us do our editing on the iPad, having to use a computer to access the audio files is right up there with iTunes/iPod circa 2005.)
iPad Air 4 and Pro - You need the Rode USB cable that came with Mics and a USB C hub with a USB A port (common and inexpensive). Plug the Rode cable's USB-A connector into the hub and the USB-C end into the Receiver. Then plug the hub's into the iPad. Done.
iPhone - iPhone to receiver via SC-15 cable. The app is not optimized for a phone so it's very hard to read on a small screen.
And crucially... I downloaded the RODE Central app for Mac again just to be sure I had the latest version. I didn't, even though I had downloaded the app only 10 days prior. Once I did that it updated my firmware again and i could access the mobile app.

What’s the point?
I read the reviews but decided to download the app anyway. Like everyone says, it won’t work unless you ALSO buy Rode’s $25 sc15 cable. The app has zero functionality until it recognizes a rode mic attached to your phone and that only happens if you’re using Rode’s special cable. What a waste!
Now it works
I am sflsgd & gave this a 2 star rating as my iPhone would not connect but was considering a 3 stars when my iPad just worked but chose not to as the iPhone uses filmic pro & has a much better camera BUT after purchasing the rode sc15 cable. It connected straight away informing me of another update via my Mac & voila it now works & Filmic saw it straight away. Now I’m happy ish but it should have worked with an OFFICIAL Apple cable in the 1st place

What an utterly crappy move, Rode!
***UPDATE** Finally seeing that a “standard” USB-USB C cable isn’t compatible in Rode’s website after I spent good money on a cable I now have zero need for! I’ll do without this useless app! Thanks for nothing, Rode!🤬
I’ve updated all firmwares to the most current. Spent fifteen bucks on a beautiful new data USB-C to Lightning cable… NOTHING! This is a total Apple move, Rode! The only possible problem with this working is that you’ve made the dammed cable proprietary! You can’t back out of this by saying “Well, we told you you needed a RODE SC15 or SC19” because you said “you must use a lightning to USB-C cable LIKE the RODE…”. This kind of rip-off is what I expect from Apple, NOT RODE! I love my RODE products, but now I have to worry about your integrity when considering buying anything new from you.
