  • Good game but AI needs update

Great chess game! The only issue is that sometimes the opponent won’t make the optimal move. For example, puzzle 64 after you move the Knight to be bottom left, the King moves 1 space to the left, allowing us to check mate him. The King should’ve moved to the right, and we couldn’t have mated him then.

  • App fits a nice niche for me

I am trying to learn to calculate positions without seeing the board and this helps a lot! Since it’s a smaller board it is a stepping stone where I can gain some skills that transfer to the big one, while still being doable without experience
  • Excellent Puzzle App

I’ve played chess for a few years and this app has just over 1000 unique mating puzzles. You can learn patterns with this app and when you’re stumped, use coins you’ve worked to earn. Daily puzzles are unique. Not to mention the events with nearly 50 more unique, usually harder, puzzles. Well designed. Amazing app.

  • Genuinely fun game

This game is really fun because it makes you actually use your brain or pay money. People were saying the hints weren’t good and that they aren’t even hints, but the whole point of the game is to solve the situation with your own brain power. Instead of using hints, try to figure it out on your own without these “dumb” hints. Aside from that, overall this game is really fun even with the ads and it’s a switch up from most games in the app store today.

  • Great game for short or long sessions

I love getting stuck on a level and coming back to it the next day and figuring it out in seconds.

One suggestion: after completing a level, I’d like a way to recap the moves to see how it worked. Sometimes I’ll solve one accidentally or not see why it could have been stopped if I did it another way. Otherwise, it’s a great time sink, and I’m getting better at endgame!

  • Love, but one mystery

I love this game so much. My chest came has already improved tenfold. It is challenging, fun, and there are plenty of opportunities for hints if I get stumped. There is one mystery though: I can’t figure out why my text notification sounds won’t go off when I’m playing this game. I’ve tried to fix it in my settings and looked to see if there was a way to fix it in game. Thus far I’ve had no success. I have an iPhone XS. Any thoughts?

  • Elegant little app

A very nicely designed app, very smooth playing experience. The only things that I would add is a slightly less clumsy ability to review problems that you have just solved, and may be a feature to add a star to a problem that you would like to return to
  • Still ads after IAP

There’s a glitch that means I’m getting random full screen video ads even though I paid to remove them. I’ve tried restore purchase but it still happens. They’re just very short clips advertising discovery plus. Also I don’t like that there are still offers for more coins if I watch an ad. Remove ads should mean NO ads.

  • Flawless

Ive never really enjoyed chess or LEARNING chess until now. These mini strategy plays really helped me with overall chess plays in a few moves as possible. The app design and UI was extremely friendly for being free. They also have a friendly ad removal feature by paying to support the creator.
  • Fun little brain exercise

Honestly just a lil fun exercise for chess moves and a good start to the day. Start small in the morning to get your brain thinkin’, then do some more arduous things after. Also helps for end game plays in chess instead of constantly chasing around a king or missing all your opportunities.

Only problem is once I rated the game, ads started to pop up after every one or two games which got a bit annoying. Play on airplane mode if possible.
