No more vacation mode!?!?
I migrated to the new app and initially the interface looks nicer and seems easier to use. My main problem is I happened to migrate while I had my lights in vacation mode. And there is no longer a vacation mode option in the new app. So my lights continued to turn on and off in vacation mode because I couldn’t turn that feature off. The other issue I had is I couldn’t make any changes to my migrated schedule. I kept getting an error message. Once migrated the old app doesn’t work. Luckily my spouse had not migrated and I used their app to turn off vacation mode and delete all old schedules. Then I had to reset new schedules in the new app.
All in all it was a frustrating process. The new interface looks nice and seems easier but it seems to take more clicks to do something that used to be so simple, like choosing a specific light mode- it used to be in one list and now it’s split into different categories so you have to search the categories for the one light mode you want.

Two hours later, it works
This is an update to my earlier review. After two hours of trying all the options I could find, I finally have the A19 bulb, my phone, and the WizRemote working. The user instructions for V2 are terrible! Turn sout I was going into paring mode (on and off five times) to try to connect the remote after my phone was paired with the light. Turns out you only turn the light off, then on, and it picked up the remote as soon as I pressed the power button 3 times. In an app developer class, the UI would rate a D, and the instructions a D-. This revision needs a revision!

Extremely disappointed with horrible upgrade
The version 2 of this app is total junk compared to V1 and should never have been allowed in the apple store until thoroughly tested. Don’t install this if upgrading from version 1. The migration process does not function and oh by the way if you install v2, it disables your version 1. When I clicked my version 1 icon it shut off seconds after startup.
The new app can not find any of my bulbs. And what is the deal with Broadcast UDP errors? That error comes up when trying to connect with my home network. It never came up in v1. V1 was hard to set up but at least I was able to get it running. It is clear that Philips only wants to sell bulbs and does not care about including app upgrades that are capable of migrating data.
The only good thing about V2 is that if u uninstall it, v1 functions again - so at least all my original settings are still there. Thank you for that at least.
This app needs a lot of further development work - the developers were clearly using users as beta testers and that’s wrong.

Still clunky, but finally reset everything
So, this is an update to an earlier review. This app is still buggy, and many features are just buried deep. Click click click select click click, you get the point. Fading a group for instance require you to select each bulb, then settings, then fading, and you are there. Could just have fading for the entire group, but I couldn’t find it. Alexa instructions would be better. Delete old app, remove those skill you may already have setup. Re-link the new app and skills. One more thing that I see needs improvement. It doesn’t remember that I am connected to my WiFi, looks like it does, but you have to re-enter your WiFi password for every device. The App should just catch this and connect your product. Still just two stars as I think it needs more work.

Great Potential
Without going too much into detail.. I wasn’t a fan of this new Wiz app so I deleted all the connected devices and set them up (again) using the V2 app (lovely setup process!) and that eased me into the UI of the new app and I realized it does everything the old app used to do! The “Welcome Home…” banner at the top is definitely too big & the Library tab is wasted potential/space but over all the app is solid! Keep up the great work! - Ismael

Worse experience
I don’t understand how they made this app and experience worse, but they did. Forced to migrate to the new app and spent, no joke, over an hour trying to pair my remaining three Wiz bulbs (gave up). The app is unintuitive and the pairing options would not allow all three bulbs to pair independently. The amount of hassle to get these to pair and work does not justify the price. Maybe that is the point, create a frustrating experience that steers a user to spend more (a lot more) for the better experience their Hue line has to offer. I’ve had two wiz bulbs burn out in the first two months and my remaining 7 bulbs are going to be replaced by Hue. I guess in a twisted way that’s a win-win for everyone.

Needs improvement
This version is still way clunkier than the original WiZ app even after the update. The top “welcome, user” section takes up way too much space given that it’s non-functional, and it means I have to scroll to see all my rooms. Like another user said, you have to do a lot more clicking to change lights now than the original app. The automation tab (schedules) is my biggest annoyance currently because I have a lot of schedules set up in multiple rooms, but there is no way for me to look at the schedules for a single room at a time like I could in the original app. My schedules are also all out of order (not sorted by time or even alphabetically by label), which is so frustrating. Really hoping the next update will at least add all the features that were in the original app.
Once this app is more stable and functional, it would also be really nice if you could add more than 4 light modes to a rhythm (I’d like to be able to add at least 6, but more would be better).

Has promise, but falls short
The old app had much to be wanted for. While the new one has a better aesthetic and decent new features like in app automation, I find the UI somehow worse, or at least no more intuitive. At least I got used to the old one and it’s quirks. The quick actions is also nice.
One major nuisance is every time I open the app with Bluetooth turned off (which is most of the time) it has some prompt telling me to turn it on to connect to accessories. They’re wifi enabled lights, no reason that should come up every time. Additionally, Siri shortcut capability no longer exists which I really liked using. I was hoping maybe for some new light modes too.
There wasn’t enough new and better with this update for me to like it more than the app I got used to using. Especially end of Shortcuts.

Better than the old one, but still very buggy
I randomly discovered this version of the app had no clue this was even out to replace the old one. Good thing cause I was able to actually pair lights this time, although the process kept crashing. Need to just wait for the lights to pop up on Bluetooth to pair and that worked.
Other thing that is really frustrating is that the widget is just a link that opens the app. Literally no point to it. Just takes up more space and once you’re in the app you still have to select the action.
Just started using this version but guessing I’ll find more bugs.
