V2 much worse than v1
I “upgraded” to v2 and it has not been a great experience. It’s many more clicks to use my scenes, and on two separate occasions, I’ve had to sign up again because it decided I wasn’t logged in. This feels like a perfect example of a product manager getting rewarded for shipping, something new, without having any thought to the usability of the product. Extremely disappointing.
Update: the developer responded that I should contact support. The problem is not support, or me not knowing how to use the app, the problem is the user interface. I can turn my lights on in my office with only three clicks now (it used to be one). Turning them off requires going to a completely different screen. I mean, come on. The developer should be required to use this app to turn their own office lights off and on - they might actually think about what users need then.
Please listen to all of the people on here who are complaining about user interface design. Hire someone who can design a useful experience.

Update to my original review!
Had everything working just fine on the initial app. Automatically migrated to the V2 app and now I cannot control different lights within groups/rooms. I watched the 45 minute WIZ V2 video and the V2 app in their video doesn’t look anything like my V2 app. Went through all of the help center options and nothing worked. Deleting the app and removing approximately 25 WIZ lights and going with a competitor. They took something that worked just fine and ruined it… Wasted my money!
Update: Although I contacted customer service through multiple resources I did not receive a response until much later and the response was “You cannot control separate lights in a group”, with that said, I deleted the app and the reinstalled it. This DID allow me to control different lights in a group. However, I had to reinstall and reconnect every lightbulb in my house. Having about 25 WIZ lights it took a while but everything seems to be working the way it is supposed to and I haven’t had any issues since. Updating my rating to four stars. This should have been considered and addressed prior to the release if the V2 app.

Clunkier and More Connections issues than Original
The 2nd version of the app so far has so many more bugs and overall runs slower with a low more pressing and sliding just to do simple task that only requires one swipe on the first app. Im deleting this app and redownloading the original one cause it’s taken me 30 minutes to connect my bulbs on this version rather than the quick 5 minute set up of the first one. Don’t use this app. Does have a more visually pleasing interface but way worse functionality.

Easier Manual Pairing
I was about ready to throw my WiZ Phillips bulb in the garbage and forget it but at the last moment I upgraded to the new version of the WiZ app and I was able to pair the bulb with my Google mesh network. I think the most frustrating element of the Wiz bulbs is pairing them with your network.
I have been using this one bulb for over a year without any problems. Then I upgraded my network to a Google mesh system. Some routers will not allow you to distinguish the 2.4 from the 5 GHz bands by naming them with separate SiDs. And if you have an iOS device there is no easy way to tell it to connect to only the 2.4 GHz band. What a pain in the rear!
Thank you for making the manual pairing mode better.

Two Wiz Apps?
So are you going to continue to develop two mediocre Wiz apps, or maybe drop one and focus on making one great app? I’d like to just use one app, and would like to know which one I should use.
Edit: The developer informed me in their response that Wiz 2 is still in beta and hasn’t officially launched. For some reason I thought it did, leaving us with two half working lolpppuuiiiiiiapps. So I bumped it to a 3 until it’s just one finished app.
P.S. Would love to see HomeKit integration!! Matter maybe? Thread in the be

It’s fine
I will see if the color change schedule desynchs like it did with the earlier version.
I think the interface is easier to navigate and in dark mode kinda pretty!
I hope at some point we can make our own dynamic patterns. Some I like until they shift to a color that’s incongruous for me. Like I get that the theme encompasses a few different colors but I usually use them for relaxing and changing my brain. But I do like the dynamic ones in general!

Honestly it’s not bad at all
This is my first smart light experience and I only have 8 lights. Needless to say the fact that they all work and I can pair the three lights in the chandelier together is cool enough. I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about but for the price I got the bulbs and the fact that the free app works and the lights work seamlessly…. 5 stars.

Makes smart lights into regular lights.
Slightly more complicated and less intuitive than original Wiz app, but I’m sure I could get used to it. It’s hard to see what they were going for this this app, and forcing us to migrate from the previous. With the original app I had problems occasionally with bulbs not responding to the app, but it was infrequent and would typically correct itself the next time I turned on the light or relaunched the app— with this app I’ve got several lights that haven’t responded for days. This app completely ruined my experience with these light bulbs because it has pretty much made them into regular dumb light bulbs which don’t respond to an app.

bring back color names!!!!
the new wiz app seems to be shifting to a more modern, simplified interface than the original version… it’s not bad, but it also feels unnecessary to have a new app with no new features. my biggest gripe is that the custom color options are now listed as hex codes instead of the cutesy individual color names like “Scarlett” red or “Hollywood Cerise” pink— it sounds silly, but I’ve come to love & remember each of my favorite colors with their names… now I’m gonna have to translate them all to hex codes instead?!?! plz app developers: bring back color names

Terrible V2! Going back to V1!
The original version is way easier to use. V2 makes you go through a bunch of hoops just to get to a nightlight or any other useful setting which were so easy to find in V1. I figure V2 might have a few hiccups being new so I stuck with it for a couple of weeks. However, today I opened the app and all my settings showed up for 2 seconds before disappearing. The app then asks me to create or scan to join a saved house. I closed and reopened the app and this sequence repeated again and again. Frustrated, I deleted V2 and I’m back on V1. So glad I didn’t delete V1 and all it’s saved data. I guess if it’s not broke, why fix it and make something more complex than needed? Automation should help simplify life rather than make it more complicated.
