Nifty

Found this app through Reddit- the developer commented about looking for ways to advertise on social media, and linked the app. He described it as “duo lingo for food” and I would say that’s pretty accurate. I’ve only completed one lesson but I learned so much I didn’t know. They start with walking through how to buy the right ingredients and what to look for, and how to prep. Then after you go through all the steps you unlock the recipe!
Loving it so far, and surprised by how much I didn’t know.

Response from developer

We're so glad you found us in the end and could learn a thing or two. Thanks so much for your review :)

Learning made fun!

It truly is like duolingo, which I thought was a big claim but it kept me hooked through an entire lesson without realizing! I already had the fundamentals of cooking but now I’m picking up even more in an interesting way. Great app!

Informative at any level!

I’ve been a home cook for a few years now so am pretty comfortable in the kitchen, but even with the first recipe set I did, I learned things that I will use! Really looking forward to learning ALL the recipes!

Love this!!

As a college student who wants to eat and make flavorful food at the dorms this is the perfect app. I love it!!

Duolingo but for cooking

I think your personal 3GB background data splurge was the best social media marketing lol

Heard about this app on Reddit

Great little app for learning how to cook new recipes. Learning new skills and knowledge. No ads. They made it feel a little like a game. And I like it a lot. Great app and recommend it to both new cooks and seasoned cooks.

Learning to cook

I am learning so much about the ingredients in my chosen recipe, as well as learning cooking methods. And here I was thinking I know how to cook!!

Great app

Very educational. Teaches you about the ingredients and cooking techniques on top of the recipes.

Professional cook with years of experience

Learning new things is something we all think we are above. This app is great for teaching us and reminding us about tips and tricks and is a great resource for young people who NEED to cook at home to feed themselves!

Really fun way to learn more

Pick a food you’d like to make, then complete a series of quizzes over time to check your instincts and refine your process. After scoring enough points, you unlock the recipe! This covers tips and basic knowledge about shopping for ingredients, using kitchen tools, safety, etc. Really clever and enjoyable, and makes cooking less intimidating!
