  • They should be embarrassed to release this

This app is nearly useless. Very few features, confusing, not user friendly. I’m struggling to figure out what it does to benefit me other than it’s the only way to track my distance other than the little lcd screen. $100/yr?! You have to be joking. There is no way I would pay any money for this. If it were free, it would be 2 stars maybe? This app seems like it was randomly generated by AI to look like a functioning app. Very disappointed and my only option for the Deerrun treadmill? I hope not because this thing is getting returned asap.
  • PLS LET ME LISTEN TO MUSIC

I’ve used this app a few times now and overall it’s just okay. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t allow you to listen to your music while using the app. What kind of fitness app would do that?! 😭😤 Secondly, I wish the layout of the app were more organized. It’s sort of messy and not very pleasing to the eye. I do like the concept of the app and I think it has a lot of potential but definitely needs some work!
  • The worst app ever

This app CONSTANTLY popped up with wanting to connect to Bluetooth. I would usually just dismiss it and ignore it. But then one day the notification to use my Bluetooth popped up and would not go away. It froze my phone. I could not power my phone down. I could not access any other apps I could not unlock my phone the notification to connect to Bluetooth just sat there forever until my phone died. I have never been more furious in my life. Do not under any circumstances download this app.
  • Downgrading to 1 Star, About to Delete the App

Update: the app rarely captures data from the walking pad at all. So far, out of 9 workouts totaling more than 15 hours, the app has only recorded two workouts, and the PitPat app has only writes data to my Apple Health app for one of those workouts. The app simply does not work. I’m about to delete it (again).

Downgrading. 1) the app takes an extremely long time to record data from the walking pad even though they are connected by bluetooth and WiFi. Like hours long. It should be minutes, if not in real time. 2) Even though I have the Apple Health app set to read and write data from the PitPat app to the Health app, the data does not sync. In fact, the Apple Health app shows “no data” in the PitPat app.
  • Unhappy with update

Before the update I had no issues with data synching to my Apple health. Since the update it has been nothing but issues and can no longer sync without uninstalling and reinstalling also no have issues with connecting to the same wifi that I had no issues with before. The visual display prior to update was basic and cartoonish but was easy to navigate the updated version is unappealing and cluttered.
  • Irritated

I was forced to update my app (not the source of my irritation) and when I did I lost all my progress (I think I was a level 4). I’m not an avid runner and I don’t use the app beyond tracking my daily walking sessions (I use it while working from home). I was enjoying seeing the levels progress. What good is tracking my levels in an unpaid membership if it resets every time the app updates? If the only way to keep the levels from resetting is to have a paid membership then don’t offer it unless the person has a paid membership. Doing what you’re doing feels predatory.
  • Can’t use other apps

I need to be able to listen to my own music or audio books while walking but it doesn’t let you do so. It’s way too boring just watching the walking. If I could use the app control the treadmill and track but while simultaneously switching to another app for music that would be great. It disconnects and stops tracking when I try to do so.
  • Downgrading to 1 Star

Downgrading to 1-star since the app doesn’t actually do anything useful. Specifically, when you complete a walk or run on your walking pad, the app displays a message that correctly tells you the distance recorded by your walking pad, BUT the main screen of the app does NOT update the number of steps or distance walked. Additionally, even though the app settings to read/write to the Apple Health app are set to “on” for each metric, the PitPat app does not actually send any data to the Apple Health app.

The app has an interesting feature where you can participate in virtual races and workouts. The app has a walkie-talkie feature that presumably lets you talk with other PitPat users, which is kind of creepy. It also allows random people to follow you unless you deactivate that feature. Literally 10 seconds after setting up my account, I had a “follower,” which seems kind of phony. Maybe it was real. The app bombards you with product promotions - buy this, get a coupon for that, earn cash rewards, etc. a bit too much cross promotional selling for my liking.

Bottom line, the app doesn’t work.
  • Update 5 to 2 stars

Thank you so much for this app it has boosted my confidence!! It makes me sweat and want to push myself. I wish it came with a way to hook your music to the app. I wish we could host private rooms to walk with friends only. UPDATE: app does not accurately record progress. You can compete in matches for rewards and prizes but will never get them. Also customer support is not good and takes very long to respond. Also I found out most of the activities available do not work with the pad. It says you need a specific type.
  • Kind of an odd little app

I was hoping that I could share data from the app with the Apple Health app, but it doesn’t appear that PitPat allows you to share data like other fitness apps do. It also does not appear to work with Apple Watch, so basically, your fitness data that PitPat tracks stays in PitPat and cannot be shared across other apps or mainstream fitness devices.

So if you have no mainstream fitness tracker (Apple Watch, FitBit, etc) and you want to buy one of the PitPat ones, I guess the app would be interesting no and useful.
