So many crashes
I have a love / hate thing going on with this app. The game itself is fantastic, and I’m totally addicted to solving the puzzles. Sadly, the implementation is super buggy, with frequent crashes (at least once a day) and stuttering animations that completely lock up the UI for multiple seconds, which is especially galling for a timed game. At this point all of my “best times” are due to the game crashing after I’ve finished the puzzle but before it saves the state, forcing me to do it over a second time.
If the devs could please stop doing I/O on the UI thread and tighten up their error handling, this would be an easy five stars. As it is, the frustration is nearly outweighing the enjoyment, and I don’t know how much longer I can put up with it.Show lesssefnap
Hasn’t been responsive since v1.0
I lost a streak because the app just sat there as I was tapping on the damned button to load and finally gave up and killed it. It often stops mid animation. I thought it would get back to reasonable, but it’s really terrible at responding to taps in a timely manner. Sometimes my first or second word. I keep tapping a letter until it finally registers at least two of that letter when I wanted one.
The dictionary is terrible. So many bad definitions and word forms that make no sense. It says AMIDS is a word. The definition is “Plural of AMID”—a preposition. Look up DATUM in a real dictionary, the plural form is DATA, not DATUMS. It hurts the game when you have to try nonsense “words” because the dictionary is garbage. Maybe a button to report bogus words so you can build an exclusion list. In addition to being slow, the UI is overloaded. How do you select a word to solve? Slapping the cell might choose across when you want down. You’re supposed to drag down. But large puzzles make for small cells, dragging as you select tends to drag the whole grid and/or select the wrong cell. Look at crossword puzzle apps, they all have a button on or above the keyboard.
Desperately needs a way to cancel the share process. It takes a very long time to render the gif and I have only ever tapped that by accident.Show lessDaryl Zero

It’s hard to know how to rate this game - the game itself is wonderful, an obvious 5 stars. However, the app itself is surprisingly unstable, hanging and crashing frequently. Also, the method of filling out the puzzle is poorly executed, and it takes a lot of fiddling to make it work. I guess I expected a lot more from a Zach Gage game, as I’ve found his previous apps to be a lot more stable and well-designed. Especially since this game has been out for a while I would think the instability would have been fixed by now. I guess he decided he was going to make a lot more money with Puzzmo and decided this game wasn’t worth doing right. It’s definitely disappointing, but it’s still a great game.Show lessjy?
Good game, but abandoned and broken
I fully paid unlocked this game and originally loved it, but it seems they’ve abandoned it. The game is now super laggy, and it often completely freezes. (I’ve emailed them about it, but no response). It’s basically impossible to access any archived puzzles before it freezes, despite that being what I paid for.
Also, the way the game chooses the next square to input characters is bonkers. Some completely asinine choices. Like there might be one square remaining, and it still chooses a square I’ve already entered. There might be some basic rules they’ve implemented, but they’re not discernible and definitely the wrong choice half the time.
Overall, I’d say it’s fine to play this for free if you want, but don’t bother paying for it anymore, because you’re not getting anything for it.Show lessipd?
Great game, if a little buggy
I love this game, I’m addicted. I subscribed and I play every day. I just wish it didn’t have quite so many delays and crashes. Hoping an update will fix these issues soon. I’m actually surprised that this got through Apple’s testing. As much as I enjoy this game, it has serious quality issues. Update: Sadly, the crashes are getting worse. It crashes almost every time a complete a game now, often before it records that the game is finished. Very frustrating. Hasn’t stopped me playing it though.

Could be 5 stars if not for glitches
I really love this game. It is calming but also satisfying. And I do highly recommend the paid version.
Except for one thing.
My 3 star rating is because there’s a glitch in the program that causes massive delays from between clicking on something and that something actually loading. It even happens sometimes after the game has loaded and I’m tapping letters and nothing happens.
It also happens when I get a text or other notification. The whole game lags.
It used to be a minor annoyance but it’s been getting progressively worse so it’s become quite aggravating. I’ve been playing this game for over 1 year. Wish they would just fix it already.Show lessjayne0876
Great game, needs a few adjustments!
I love this game so much, I usually only use my phone for puzzle games, and this has definitely become my favourite one.
I only have two small suggestions that would greatly improve my enjoyment of the app!!
1. Currently, the only options for stats at the end of the game are on/off. But, there is no way to speed up the display of data. There should be an option for this, as it can be frustrating finishing a puzzle just to be forced to wait through each line of stats at the end appearing one at a time!!
2. Sometimes, there will be a word that is not part of my vocabulary that has ended up the final solution, and I'd really like to learn it's definition. The app has a function for that, but it is not always helpful!! Oftentimes, I've tried to get the definition of a word only to get "plural of _____" or similar as a response!
If there is some way to fix the definitions so they give more information on the word, or maybe even a quick link to the Merriam-Webster site for their definition, that would be amazing!!
As I said, I love this game, and currently have a 400+ streak on the daily puzzles. I'd love to give it five stars, but at this point, with these two little things that bug me, I don't feel like I can.Show lessJDDrum
Good game with faults…
The game itself is okay but;
Very laggy on an iPhone 13 Pro- the only app I have that is laggy. Is it written badly or is it constantly trying to connect to a suboptimal server?
Rarely, but annoyingly, an answer will appear in a puzzle that, though correct, is deemed to be rude or inappropriate. When that happens, you can’t complete the puzzle. I guess all the puzzles must be computer generated but not properly checked for that to happen.Show lessoOCaptain BeefheartOo
Glitch is frustrating
Every few weeks, sometimes twice a week a daily puzzle is not credited as being completed so your ‘streak’ ends and you need to complete seven more games to restore your streak. I complete the daily game, click back to the beginning to ensure it has been credited as completed with the date and time I completed it, and still receive notifications the next day, I did not complete that game.
