Love the coffee, not the app

This new ordering app loses some key functionality from the old app. I cannot use Apple pay to order (which means I have to setup a CC - not convenient when I am already on the road), there is no place to enter special order requests for each item (like adding honey to a latte), and the app doesn’t send a message with an ETA or that the order is actually ready. Come on Summer Moon! This is the first thing I have seen you guys get wrong!!

Not the same

When the location in Conroe opened it was great. Drinks made correctly, no long wait times for drinks.
Now….drink time is long. Order off the app and they don’t even realize they have drink orders waiting?? Associates not friendly, barely crack a smile. In addition you order a drink it’s not what you ordered? Ex. Sugar cookie latte you get a chestnut latte instead?
This review has been a long time coming as the service and product have gone down hill.
Starbucks has no issues making correct coffee.

Low functionality

Not able to add special instructions for coffee and not able to connect to Apple Pay or PayPal for payment

Decent app but missing features

Need to be able to add sweetener for iced tea orders! When I asked in the store they told me “there’s sugar over by the door”. Yes and I passed high school chemistry and sugar doesn’t dissolve well in cold liquids. Just add the option to include simple syrup for iced tea.

Tip

This is a way to get customers to pay more because it has the default set to 20% tip. Already get charged extra for the service fee and why is everything asking for tips!!!

Works Beautifully!

The Summermoon app was definitely professionally done. Everything worked seamlessly and very easy to use!

Missing Old App

Love the Cinnamoon but can’t modify the oat milk in the app and there’s no place to leave a note. I need to be able to place app orders as I don’t have time to drive, order, and wait. I don’t think the staff enjoys the phone call to edit the order either. :-/. Please update the app so the oat milk can be substituted, not just the moon milk. Thanks!

Noticeable improvements made on new app

**updated** apparently ChowNow has officially removed all SummerMoon locations so I was forced to return to the new app. However, they have made significant and noticeable improvements. Most importantly they changed the service fee back to $.50- THANK YOU. Other changes I noticed was in the ordering process. I think I used Apple pay today and didn’t even realize it (maybe it was my saved CC haha) but I remember the last time I used the app how clunky checking out was. This was reminiscent of the old SM app. Thanks for listening, guys.

Original post on 1-star review: I, like previous reviewer, made the mistake of deleting the old app. Now one of my locations nearby (Avery ranch) no longer shows up for order ahead. I called and they said to order it on the old app’s platform website - now today, a few weeks later, I can’t remember the old platform name and I guess I’m going without my SM today. Also no Apple Pay which is annoying as well. Made it a lot more difficult in more ways than one.

Can’t even check out

When I first downloaded the app, it wouldn’t even load the check out page. I was hoping the bugs would be fixed by the time the old app was out of service. Iced updated it and no luck. I’ve found that I can still order online but it would be more convenient to have an functioning app.

No Apple Pay, no estimated pick up time

Apple Pay which made checkout quick and easy is not an option. The app would rather you save your CC information in an account. There is also no follow-up to let you know when your order will be ready. There is a fee to use the app which at this point Summer Moon should be large enough to roll that into the total cost. You don’t see other coffee chains or retailers charging a “technology fee”.
