Earn cash rewards for reaching your financial freedom goals.
Debbie is the first app that pays you for paying off credit card balances, building up savings, paying down debt, and learning about your money psychology.
At the core of Debbie is a psychology-based money goals program, where we help you understand your mindset, set financial goals, track your progress, and earn rewards when you reach milestones! Each part of the Debbie program will help you gain the knowledge and tools to upgrade your habits, stay out of debt forever, and build wealth.
Here are the features you can expect from the Debbie app:
- Streaks: personalized monthly credit card payment and savings goals
- Quick Wins: weekly short financial challenges, like checking your balance or credit score
- Pathway: weekly courses that uncover the truth of your money psychology
- Cash rewards for completing all of the above
The app is currently 100% free and sponsored by our partner financial institutions, who are primarily not-for-profit, community-based credit unions.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
1. Download the app and complete your onboarding quiz
The quiz will help us personalize your experience, content, and money challenges
2. Accept your sponsor partner
We are able to offer Debbie for free through our sponsor partners. You will need to open a free checking or savings account with your match in order to redeem your rewards, but you will be able to use Debbie for free without setting up any new accounts. We will eventually offer the ability to bring your own bank, for a small monthly fee.
3. Connect your debt and savings accounts
In order to help you track your progress and reward you for hitting your goals, you will need to hook up any relevant accounts via Plaid. All of your data is encrypted, and never sold to 3rd parties.
4. Get started on your Debbie course
We will walk you through your Debbie course which teach your about your money mindset.
5. Hit your goals and get paid
Complete your debt payoff and savings goals for the month, as well as your weekly Pathway to earn points. Once you reach $50, you can cash out. We offer unlimited cash-outs.
6. Access lower rates on your debt and refinance*
Level up in the Debbie program and gain access to our Rate Crusher, where we help find you a lower interest rate on your debt with our banking partners..

Good app especially for beginners to personal finance
I only gave it 4 stars because I’m not a beginner to personal finance so at times the app’s language seems a bit condescending to me, but I’m not gonna complain about free money for learning about personal finance and setting financial goals for myself! You do either need to be part of a participating credit union or join one, which can either be free to join if you’re an eligible community member or a small one time fee of $10 to be part of a homeowner’s community, which I joined. It’ll be a good resource for the future when I begin seriously home shopping and find where I want to settle down!
