OMG

How has this been allowed to happen! Fortunately there is another ‘Caravan and Motorhome’ organisation who have a working website. It’s the actual CAMC sites I feel sorry for, as their bookings and business will rapidly dry up. It seems incredible that such incompetence can be permitted. Who are the head honchos who have allowed this fiasco? In my world, heads would be rolling very quickly… 18 Nov 2022. Still this app is virtually unusable. I went to the CAMC stand at the recent NEC show to complain and was assured that ‘things were in hand’. But no they are not! Someone needs to get a grip of this - fire your developers and hire a competent team - NOW!26 Jun 2024 just thought I’d try it once more for old times sake - still a complete mess…words fail me.

Dear Developer,

Do you not think that the fact this app has only ONE star from thousands of users says it all?
Have you ever tried to use it in the backend of a field when trying to find another site? Even on 5G IT KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN. THE MAP DISAPPEARS AND YOU HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN - and so it goes on.
Please don’t bother responding to this. Just admit you can’t fix it and close it all down.

Awful app

Awful app that makes the process of searching for sites frustrating and very stressful. Definitely not user friendly - you MUST use it on their terms or it becomes unusable
Eg use their location text or get no results; know the exact name of the camp site or get no results. No back button so any mistakes mean you need to start your search from scratch again. Click into sites to get availability and more info and you are greeted with a blank white page with no other option than to start your search all over again. Whoever developed this app should be sacked! Only been members for a month and only managed to book one CL site for one night - and that was because we were required to phone them direct. If this doesn’t improve we won’t be renewing our membership next year.

Hi Unimpressedsue thank you for your feedback. When you click on a site from the list of searches there should be a 'back' button which is located in the left corner of the screen. If this isn't displaying, please can you email appfeedback@camc.com with a screenshot so we can look into this.

Dreadful App

I don’t think I’ve ever used this app and it hasn’t crashed. iPhone, iPad or PC, it is dreadful.

The information is often contradictory e.g. some sites say that there IS a toilet block yet further down the information listing it says Number of Toilet Blocks - 0.

The filter functionality appears to have no logic to it giving results which make no sense at all.

There are so many ‘dead ends’ where you can only return to where you started by repeatedly using the browser ‘back’ button. This indicates a massive lack of effective software testing before implementation.

The whole experience is incredibly disappointing giving the impression that the organisation doesn’t care about its credibility or it would not allow its developers to release such a poor system.

Still totally unfit for purpose

I reviewed this app some time ago. When I did I was told that after spending millions on it, there was still work to be done.

Seems like a lot of work has been done. Amazingly, they’ve managed to make a terrible app even worse.

My previous review: “According to the boss of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, this app is brilliant. If that’s the case why so many negative reviews here? Basically the search functioning is a joke. Try searching for Yorkshire sites and you could get anything. Despite lots of negative comments on the CMC Facebook Group the club has done nothing about this terrible app. As the club used my money (along with other members) to pay for this app, I’d like to know what it costs, why it doesn’t work and who is taking responsibility for this monumental blunder.”

A shambles

When I turned up at a CAMC site with my physical plastic membership card in my hand and was told that this was not acceptable because my membership validation now has to be done with the new app, I faffed about with almost no signal to try to download the “CAMC app” to display my membership number to check in. Then I noticed that the old CAMC app was still on my iPhone. I was confused. So I removed the old app. And now the new one turns out to be a complete shambles! I have a few booking in northern Scotland over the next couple of weeks but the app doesn’t seem to know about them! I click on “My Bookings” and the app seems to throw me to the iPhone desktop. The developers really screwed it up good and proper.

How difficult can it be!

I’ve been a cc member for years. You’d think in this day and age someone would be able to write an app programme that works. Every single time I log in there’s an issue. The current problem, I go to log in and it says the app needs an update. I have tried everything, even deleted the app and reinstated it, done the update and still the same screen asking me to update the app! One of so many issues. A truly rubbish service!!

Doing yourselves out of business

I used the filtering option to find sites that offered storage. I know Ashridge has storage as we’ve stayed there and seen it. Yet the app doesn’t show there as an option. This isn’t an isolated case though as we are now using a CL to store our unit yet when I searched for them it didn’t show as offering storage. I only found them by using the UKcampsite and PitchedUp websites. And if I’m using those sites to search for campsites ultimately the Club is commercially shooting the selves in the foot. Please please get your filtering correct!

Just appalling.

Sadly the app isn’t fit for purpose. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to constantly type in my password (8 times tonight) when searching for a pitch. If that isn't bad enough, once the box pops up with no internet connection, you then have to re-enter your search criteria to try another site.

As a new member I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried to enter my outfit details, for the app, and website, to immediately lose them.

Too many other gripes to mention, but who can i pass them on to.

Absolutely appalling app

It’s just scraping the website. The old app allowed me to download the membership card to my apple wallet. Not any more. In fact when I click on membership card in the app it displays a message saying you can download the app to display your card. Which I am already in. Not sure how much of our subs went in this app development but whoever was in charge deserves a rocket. I had to take a screenshot of my membership page to help when there’s no local mobile signal.

We have already made a number of key enhancements including removing the queuing system, improving payments, viewing digital membership cards, providing more accurate search results and searching Certificated Locations. We will continue to make further improvements.

Awful !

Please bring back the previous app which allowed you to search sites within a certain mileage area This worked really well for years so it seems to be changed for changes sake and definitely a retrograde step.
Not all elderly people have all the time in the world to sit and go through what is now a laborious task to find and book a site, despite what some feedback seems to suggest……..Time is precious.
Get your act together otherwise your membership is really going to suffer Certainly not impressed and as our membership is due soon we may well have a rethink unless things change dramatically

The old app is no longer supported unfortunately, new updates are being worked on very regularly for the app. Please make sure to update and restart when you see ‘pop ups' to make sure you see the most recent version.
