Very dodgy

I’ve got the latest App Store version (1.4.6) and it won’t run until I download a new version (1.4.9) which is not available on the App Store and only available via a direct download from the developer. This by-passes apple’s verification and validation process and could be anything. I will not (knowingly) run anything that hasn’t been validated by apple.

If you want people to use your app, issue it through the App Store.

I’m reduced to relying on the web interface, which will probably become unsupported soon as I have to stick with the 32bit OS (mojave) in order to use photoshop. When this happens, there will be no point continuing my membership as I won’t be able to view availability and book any sites.

Hi and thank you for your feedback. Our latest version is 1.4.6, there is no 1.4.9 yet. A recent release should pop up if you go onto the app now and will ask you to update and restart. If this is still not happening please email us at the appfeedback@camc.com with details of your device and other other details and we will be able to look further into this.

Very bad

I used to love the previous CL site app where you could put a location and select within x amount of miles. Since changing over this search facility is dreadful and not as easy to navigate. A step backwards as can no longer find my favourite sites . Please bring back the old app or do something better with this one. Caravan and camping has a high ratings app so maybe this is saying it all really as it’s very poorly rated and more expensive to join. Time to leave and join them if this is not better by my next subscription

Why is the latest app far worse than the previous one, is this what the club progress?

This latest version is appalling, trying to find sites is so long winded especially CLs and where has My Favourites gone ? The fact that when you try to search for sites and have to keep returning to the home page/ search page without being able to save anything is very very frustrating.
Why have you made a not too brilliant app even worse?

Adding ‘My Favourites’ is currently under review and we would suggest always looking out for updated and new releases when they are made available.

Living in the past

This is not an app - it’s a clone of the mobile site (the mobile site seems to work better). You would think from the reviews alarm bells would ring. I have this image of the developer churning out generic replies to the poor reviews and the camc committee sat there none the wiser. Either that or they are just feeding of elderly who have the time in their lives to go through this laborious process. You have a core loyal base who see themselves as members not customers but you won’t be able to drink on that liquor for too much longer. Get this sorted as the sites are lovely!

Terrible - but only when you can access it!

Couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer in terms of this being app being a massive backward step. Previous app was not perfect but definitely adequate - particularly the previous ability to save favourite sites which saved a huge amount of time when planning a trip. The Club makes millions in profit every year but it's IT is unremittingly awful. Given that the Club seems to be increasingly run for retired people - those of us who still work and value our precious annual leave would like the ability to arrive on site before 1pm, especially when the site is only half full! - one would think it would try to make it's website and app as easy as possible to use.

Appalling AP

How can a company this big and well established have such a useless AP? The site search is so user unfriendly and clunky. Just give me a map that shows availability on the dates I’ve asked for, not a list of sites, half of which are closed anyway or don’t have availability. Then when you do pick a site to look at there’s no back button to go back to the search list so you have to enter all your search criteria again, infuriating. I would have given it 0 stars if I could as it’s simply not fit for purpose. Other APs manage to get this sort of thing to work perfectly well. I’ve booked independent sites instead simply because I’ve given up trying to find a club site. Sort it out caravan club, you’re losing business and you’re better than this.

Won’t let me log on (with update )

I have no problem accessing the website and logging in there, but using the same details the app refuses to let me log in at all, saying I have the wrong id/ password. What am I doing wrong? Do the log-on details differ between website and app? I cannot comment on whether the app is any good because I’ve never been able to log in. There’s no point in trying to push us all into having an electronic membership card instead of a physical one if we can’t get the app open to display it.

Update: I have been contacted and it was suggested that my password be changed so as to only include letters and numbers. I changed the password accordingly and this worked. However I have not as yet been able to use the app so cannot comment on its functionality

Please be aware that if you have a joint membership, only the lead member's login will work on the App but you can still have separate log ins when using the website. Awful - changed from good to appalling

Team, I absolutely hate the new app : the previous one worked perfectly and I loved it. Now I don’t get offered a map to find sites, I’m pushed straight into a booking process, long before I’m ready to do so. I want to be able to put in a town and be presented with a map, long before I start thinking dates. Now in the next update of the phone app, I’m now told IMMEDIATELY I press the looking glass for search that unbelievably I’m in a queue and I must wait!!!! What the heck is this? I’m not booking, I’m researching. Any site should be available without delay so I can read about it, and neighbouring sites so I can come to a decision about whether to book… it is unbelievably frustrating to be put in a queue when of course there is no delay whatsoever in being able to view sites on a map. Who designed this latest version? It’s awful.
And yes I know a tiny option to view a map is shown eventually at bottom of screen - but you’ve got to fill fields in to get there.
Please do go back to the simple helpful app it originally was a few months ago. This is awful.

Dreadful

I agree with the previous review this is an appalling and badly tested update. Having just been forced to download this new app to make a booking it is unworkable and provides inconsistent and incomplete search results unless you search for a specific site. It fails to allow filtering for many key factors such as hard standing pitches on CLs. It also only shows CLs in searches if a small box is ticked each time despite that being the prime reason for many members taking out their membership. Finally I came across several instances in searches where no back button appeared meaning that I had to go back to the beginning of a search to reenter search parameters from scratch. This needs very urgent action or a reversion to the old app which at least worked smoothly.

Searching CLs can be done in many ways in the app: by ticking the "include Certificated Locations" box on the search panel, by selecting the "Certificated Locations" panel in the filters, or by selecting the "Show Certificated Locations" button on the map view. Terrible. Bring back the old app

I spent hours on the app and the website trying to book 2 club sites over the summer half term. It is absolutely appalling. The old app you could see what the individual charges were before you booked. Now you just get a fee for a particular day. How do you know it is correct? In the old app it was so easy to find sites to compare charges and availability. Now for some reason it needs dates of birth for everyone booking. Why? On the app I finally got through to payment. I was requested to verify my card. I did and was confronted by a page saying I had authorised the card but there was no way back to complete the booking on the app. I eventually did it via the website. I then wanted to amend my booking as I had picked grass instead of hard standing. I tried changing this on the app but then found I had acquired an extra adult guest and added £100 to my bill. Where did that come from? Please sort it out Caravan club otherwise I shall not be renewing my membership

Hi JAYD2010 thank you for your comment. If you have entered dates, campsites that are available will return a prices, campsites that are full will show as FULL. If no dates are entered, the prices displayed will be the cheapest pitch price. Please can you contact enquiries@camc.com to look into this extra charge and they will be able to assist you further.
