Great!
Great App, challenging and fun!’
Good intentions but falls short (1 month use)
The app has many downsides and flaws that make it not a good option. The worst I found is that if you cannot complete a workout, the schedule sometimes will go crazy the following day and you schedule will move days around. When this happens the only option is to toggle off/on the schedule and that recreates all your sessions and you end up losing any progressions you might be working on.
Alongside this, you cannot view the upcoming workouts as the app creates each session on the fly every day. You can only see a line or two with the main movement patterns involved. Also, checking previous sessions is not an easy experience and since it takes into account every other workout you complete in you Apple Watch, checking the history is a mess.
The app is designed with good intentions but falls short in a few very important points. It has a built-in clock that is tiny and is positioned at the bottom and you cannot see this unless very close to the phone.
You are supposed to enter your results and RPE after every set but the buttons are tiny and when sweaty and under a high heart rate, it becomes almost impossible.
I also have blocked some movements like kipping stuff and handstand but they keep showing in my training days… not sure why?
The last and probably the most disappointing feature is the fact that it looks as if the workouts are copy pasted. There’s no way to understand if you are in a progression or what the future is going to look like. Some people might find great to hit the gym, hit a button and get a random workout plan but I do believe some kind of plan or progression has to be taken into consideration and the app seems to fail to show this in a way that the user understand what he/she is working towards.
I am experiencing that even thought I customised my training program to have the most progression and less variance but still looks very random.
Overall 2 starts makes for the great effort they have put into the app design and the overall cool idea of AI taking care of your training but I’d rather go ask ChatGPT to create a session for me and not having to pay a monthly fee… I truly don’t believe this but just wanted to throw some humour after all the gloom and doom.
I am pretty sure most won’t read all this review but I hope the app designers do and take into consideration some changes as, as of today, it is not worth the cost.
