Pretty much pay to play

As much as I enjoy the game, noticed that from level 3 you pretty much have to purchase hero’s to be able to progress 😮‍💨😬😬

All about $$$

If you plan to spend money to progress in game. This one is for you. Spend $$$ to progress otherwise get stuck is what this game is all about.
Stupid game…..

Fun for like 2 days

It’s a fun game, don’t get me wrong. At least for the first day or so. Over time, it just becomes very apparent to be a pay-to-progress game. Not in a literal sense, but to a very distinct point. You get to a point where you’re required to have a hero in order to have people work in a building that produces a very essential item to progress, so until you get lucky and get the hero from the free cards every 8 hours, or you buy it, you best be okay with producing your materials at a painfully slow rate. I would understand if it involved prioritizing where you work your survivors in order to progress to the next step, but then you fall back into the restriction of needing a certain hero to have more than one person working in a shop. I get that you don’t want to advance through the villages/levels super rapidly, as that would take away the feeling of achievement, but if I have to feel like it’s easier to pay $5.99 to get the 2 hero’s i need just for ONE village than it is to check back every 2 hours for 3 days, then I see no enjoyment in this game. Rant review over.

Bottleneck City (Unless you pay)

Glad to come on here and read that everyone else has had the same experience with freemium on this game.

First couple of cities were great, you have various buildings to run and you have a ‘hero’ that speeds up output and unlocks more workers for that building. You’re given these by completing quests for these first two cities. When you get to the third city they introduce new buildings that you need new heroes to run.

You’re given the opportunity when you first start the level to purchase these 3 missing heroes for £5.99(?!). That deal lasts a day or so and after that your fate of getting those heroes is left up to the Gods of fate, either by randomly unlocking them for free, or purchasing loot boxes to randomly unlock them.

I’ve left it up to randomly unlocking for free, and after 3 days of this one level I’ve unlocked one of the three. If I don’t end up unlocking the other two within the next few days I’ll probably delete as it looks as though there’s around 5 other heroes this happens with as you progress further.

It’s a shame because this game is actually very well structured and a cute artistic style, 10/10 for a time management game, but it’s let down by a pretty compulsory pay to progress structure.

Progress is slow

The game is just slow enough to make you frustrated enough to want to spend money to speed things along but not slow enough that it makes you quit altogether. The events are pointless because they make you wait 2-3 days for a new event to start but the events only last from what I’ve seen so far, 8 hours to 15 hours to maybe a day and a half. But people want to be first so badly that they spend a lot of real money to essentially get nothing real in return. Heroes are hard to get and upgrade, which you need to be able to make enough resources to keep playing or to make them strong enough for the random adventure/battle aspect. It was a fun time waster but now progress is so slow that I open the app, maybe play for less then 5 minutes and then move onto something else.

Greed ruins actual fun strategy and gameplay

The strategy of villager, building, and resource management is fun. The hero monetization makes it less fun as when you get to level 3, the game makes it extremely hard to acquire the necessary heroes to keep progressing at a reasonable pace.

The “Last Austimn” limited time mode should be more or less how the main game functions where instead of hoping to acquire heroes via loot boxes, you have all the buildings and heroes available, with a limited amount of heroes which requires you to be more strategic in what you have your villagers work on and the order in which you upgrade your buildings and production.

I was initially writing a whole essay of a review with a lot of detail, but me switching from game to App Store multiple times deleted my whole review. So this review is a lot more brief and I am not giving examples as to why I’m making these claims.

I have some issues with this game

I love this game very much but i have some issues with it, like survivors are always hungry or lacking sleep when i’m not online, i have to physically log on and keep the game playing until they eat and sleep for it to actually count. Sometimes i don’t even get some resources when i’m not online even though the game time keeps passing, it’s like (some) factories, kitchen and dorms are on pause. Sometimes when i log on they start walking from doorms to factories even though it’s already the middle of working time and they should already be there when i open the app instead of wasting my time. I also don’t like that i’m always lacking raw materials for the kitchen. If you’re gonna force me to get 40+ survivers then you’re gonna have to give me more chef cards or let me be able to upgrade the kitchen and hunter’s cabin more! Also regarding events, i love events where i collect money rather than resources, because the main game is already about that, I don’t wanna play an event where it’s literally the same game but another map, there’s no fun in that.

Feature request

The hospital info should have a log of patients served and their outcomes over time, just like a hospital normally would. This is important, so I can see if anyone died while I was away and why. This would improve the medical profession contributions to the growth of humanity, by continuing the learning process, which should inform player tactics. This should still be normal in the future. This is a common human method for learning, continuous improvement, innovation, and advancements. It’s why we’re using these devices right now... Humans continued living and thriving.

Learning. You’re welcome.

Loved this game until Plain City

I love how fast this game seems to move, so far I’ve been having a lot of fun. I normally get really bored of games like this but I think I ran into a little bit of a bug and it’s kind of driving me crazy. So, for reference on this, I have 3.16m iron block, 500k cylinders, and 10,000 iron. Now I should have been able to upgrade my iron LONG ago, but I can’t get Arthur (the hero for the iron mine) no matter what I do. I’m not spending $7 to unlock a basic function of the game, and it’s gotten to the point now where I cant upgrade anything because I need iron to make iron blocks, and my block production is SO MUCH faster than the iron that I just stay around 5,000 iron at all times. I kinda want to delete the game but I’m hoping I open a chest one of the days and get Arthur.
I guess the point of this is,
I want Arthur.
The end!

Good game ruined by greed

It’s a great time passer until it gets to the point you can’t really progress unless you buy packages. There are events that last 3 days, these also offer purchases. I wrongly assumed if you bought the packages in the event you would keep the cards for the next time the event rolls round but no, complete flat reset meaning you have to purchase the same packages again. If these were only to speed up the event then that would be fine but no they are the only way to complete the event. I spent maybe 4-5 hours a day on the game as well as checking in throughout the day and only got to around 60% of the way through. Another thing is, you can’t permanently get rid of ads but instead you will have to pay a weekly or monthly subscription. I’m happy to pay for packages if you don’t lose everything after 3 days. Seems like a greedy way to run a game and definitely burns you out from the game a lot faster. It’s a shame because at first the game is pretty enjoyable.
