  • Forced to install

    I was coerced to install the app to activate a physical SIM card after paying public mobile. This is not right.
  • Find another provider

    The app opens in the browser and then onto a blank page. There are no contact details for customer support. The chat box doesn’t connect you to either a bot or a person for help to set up an account. To initiate set up PM charges first, then leaves left me hanging without a number or activation. The website also does not have any option to cancel the payment, and after reading other reviews, as advised I called my credit card company to cancel the card to avoid recurring charges; and lodged a dispute to have the initial charge reversed for service not provided.
  • Absolutely useless can’t post a payment

    For over a month I’ve been trying to pay a Canadian public mobile number with a American credit card. Which, according to their terms of service is perfectly acceptable. In fact, I had one on file with them which they discontinued as the year rolled over now they want you to enter the matching postal code for your US credit card but of course they don’t accept ZIP Codes. I guess they hired people that I’ve never traveled outside of whatever little two bit village they’re in
  • Dead loop

    Payment for subscription was successful. Activation failed. Then this company locked me out of my account out of no reason. Every sign in failed with message “forbidden”. Resetting password won’t solve the issue. Try to get help but I need to sign in to be able to submit a ticket. Now I’m in the dead end. Tell me how can I cancel my subscription! This company is just a scam.
  • Intentionally hard to get service for.

    If you have activation issues you must talk to chat, then create a ticket and log in 5 times.

    If you want to cancel you must submit tickets through their awful “community” system.

    Better to use Lucky Mobile instead for an eSIM rather than deal with the pain of this garbage.
  • Can’t even sign up

    Neither the app nor the website accepts payments with my credit card.

    Public Mobile currently accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), Visa debit, and MasterCard debit cards issued by Canadian or American financial institutions that are associated with addresses in Canada or the U.S. For more help, please submit a ticket to a Customer Support Agent on our website.

  • Terrible When Unsubscribing

    Unsubscribing from PublicMobile is an actual nightmare. The option is not even available on their website; you need to download the app to do so to access the menu options their AI chat suggests. Then when you download the app, there is no clear option to remove your card from the account or stop the subscription. When you try to get ahold of proper customer service, the app and website both redirect to a broken website error page. The AI chatbot very unhelpfully asks you to delete your cookies then try again with no alternative methods to submit a ticket, unsubscribe, or even view and remove payment methods. I had to restrict my card and get a new one just to get rid of the monthly charges from PM. Absolutely ridiculous!
  • Doesn’t work in Lockdown Mode

    All my other apps work just fine with if Lockdown Mode is turned ON, but Public Mobile App will refuse to load the My Account tab. The spinner keeps spinning but nothing loads. Works fine if that is disabled.

    Easier to uninstall the app and use the website
