I just finished my first Level 4 story series and it was so rewarding and motivating!!! I bit the bullet and bought a year subscription at the discounted promotion rate. I am so glad I made this purchase! This is exactly the type of material I needed to help me see and understand grammar in context. The stories and articles reflect everyday life and situations, making the vocabulary and dialogues instantly useful. Seriously a game-changer for me, as I have been “stuck” at level 4-ish for years - learning the same grammar points over and over again, but not really being able to insert them into my own conversation patterns. This is helping me grasp how grammar is really used…. and helping me build useful new vocabulary, too. Thank you for this app!!!!

This app is exactly what I was looking for to improve listening and reading…. BUT I won’t be subscribing unless the price comes way down. I don’t even spend this much for Netflix! I’ve been a Premium subscriber to TTMIK for a long time. I agree with another reviewer that there should be a heavily discounted option for people already committed to a Premium subscription. The app is slightly geared more for learners who are not absolute beginners but more intermediate or at least have been learning for a year. But this isn’t a bad thing. The more time you have been learning the more likely you will appreciate the app.
The real magic though is that the stories start to get addictive and you can read them again and again once you have read them once and gone through the quiz.
Having access to different difficulty levels is a bonus too if you want to stretch yourself. On the other hand even if your level is beyond beginner you can go through the basic level stories and articles and practice reading and speaking speeds.
If you think about it another way it is like having a one to one lesson with a tutor that you recorded and can play back again and again. Which is why the price point of the app will make sense for more committed people. Tutors often cost more per month.
Is it different than the TTMIK subscription courses online? Yes to some extent. There is something special at least for me in being able to read stories and articles because this is what I do in English. And the stories don’t baby the reader. They can get very nuanced.

I understand you have your reasons but this app is very overpriced, especially if your level is too high or too low to be able to read everything. Also dark mode would be extremely helpful.

Handy pocket learning for on the go or over your morning coffee! I enjoy having a choice between a story or a news article. A nice choice to use different parts of the brain cells! I love TTMIK Stories! This is the app I have been waiting for to immerse myself in Korean at the perfect level. I actually love that English translations are not provided because it forces me to be actively immersed in the language. I have to use what I learned in the grammar courses to understand and begin thinking in Korean. The questions help me demonstrate understanding in the language. While I am on Level 4 of the TTMIK, I actually started from level 1 on Stories to review and practice. At level 1, I was still learning new words and loved that I got to practice my listening and speaking skills. I like to echo read with the audio to practice pronunciation and phrasing. There are also so many things to read at each level, both fiction and nonfiction and on various topics. The price point for some may be steep, but to me this is considerably less than a tutor for a year or a classes that I have taken for 10 weeks on other sites. I appreciate the time and effort the creation of this app must have taken.Show lessDewdrop1013

I was a bit apprehensive about buying the app because of the cost, but I’ve found it to be worth it when it comes to improving my reading skills. It’s easy to use and after a few weeks I can already see my improvement!브리1995

It is a well thought out app, but the price is quite high with the competition in language learning apps. If this was around $10 a month I imagine more customers would demand the app.
Also, sometimes the play button and other UI feels not responsive but it is still well designed.Kyle Greyshock

Very engaging content and well choreographed progression through levels. Please fix these bugs - level 5, “My Dream Farm”, chapter 10, question 2 is verbatim repeat of question 1 and answer for #2 is incorrectly graded (his father is NOT still angry with him - Occasionally text of a question is cut off/ needs formatting (iPhone 14) - Must repeat quiz of last finished level and select “continue reading” each time I want to dive back in and open up the story I’m currently reading. Otherwise it is greyed out for selection. - Wish that my reading level in the stories would sync up with my level in TTMIK web site subscriptionShow lessShimanchew

I have been learning Korean for 3 years and and getting stuck trying to move up to intermediate. My main issue is listening comprehension and whilst it is improving it has been slow going. I stumbled across this app just last week and it is brilliant. The stories and articles are great and the audio just what I need. Unfortunately my free trial ran out today and now I need to decide on a subscription. Yesterday as I was contemplating taking out the subscription it was $19.99 per month however today ,now that my free trial is finished, it is now $29.99 per month! And I assume that is $US not $aud. At $19.99 I was tempted but $29.99 is unfortunately too steep for me. Over the past 3 years I have purchased $1,000’s worth of material through TTMIK and have a premium membership and whilst I appreciate the immense effort gone into the app I think $30 every month is way too expensive. I actually think TTMIK is doing itself a disservice by charging so much as a lower price is likely to generate far more income via 1,000’s of subscribers as a opposed to a few hundred at the current price. It actually reminds me of a family holiday I had to Lapland with my kids. at the resort we were staying at there were dozens of brand new skidoos that remained un rented for our entire stay because the asking price of €90 per 90 mins was way too excessive. In talking to others on the tour nearly all of them said that had the rental fee been half that much they would have hired one for sure. So rather than make €1,800 that day i.e. 40 tourists x €45 they made €0 i.e. 0 tourists at €90.
Obviously TTMIK can charge what they like however in recent times, save for the much cheaper shipping costs (although much, much longer delivery times) they seem to be gouging far more money from their customers than when I first started purchasing its resource materials which is a shame. For me, unless there is a rethink on the subscription cost, I will concentrate on the Iyagi lessons instead despite, not being as user friendly.Show lessIamgeelong
