Close to Being a Great App - Could Use More Tech Troubleshooting and Program Refinement

I followed the app program for about eight weeks. Some things I liked:
- good warm ups, about ten minutes with an emphasis on the connection breath
- good content on the resources page
- I liked the two lower body days and two upper body day focus
- the workout content was there in terms of how to do the exercise and the description of it and the exercises were conducive to things needed in pregnancy.
- modifications for body weight and for a growing belly

Some things that could be improved:
- I felt like the week to week changes were random. There was no explanation on how things would change for one week or the next, such as a mesocycle format with a rest week.
- Some things were glitchy in the app.
- couldn’t move days around. It would have been switch to switch Day 3 and make that my Day 2, etc.
- wish you could switch just one day to body weight rather than the whole week for days when you don’t have access to a gym.

Overall, I’m at a point where I have some other issues, and I need to tailor my workouts differently to fit some of my existing injuries. I still prefer three full body workouts 3 days a week instead. I might consider renewing my membership again as there’s definitely some value there, but for now it’s not a good fit for me.

Nice programming but really glitchy

I really like the app for the programming! Nice structure and alternatives. However, half the time, the app is glitchy and won’t open. There’s a message saying « slow or no internet connection »… but my internet connection is good and all my other apps are working. So I’m doing maybe half the trainings on the app because of this. Disapointing.

App doesn’t work once payment starts

I used the app on the free 7 day trial and it was great. As soon as that ended and my payment went through, the app wouldn’t open, saying “no internet was found”. Not matter how many times I tried with different internet sources, the app wouldn’t open - even with wifi and cellular data which others in my area were using with no problem. Not impressed.

The best program to get your core back!

I’ve been following the postpartum course now (9 weeks PP with my 2nd), and I feel so much stronger and more stable at this point postpartum than I did with my first - truly a world of difference. And this was even with seeing and working with a pelvic floor PT after my first. I’m itching to start doing more, but the is program is amazing at making sure you don’t push yourself too soon and stay disciplined to rebuilding. I know I’ll thank myself in the long run!

Love this app!

The app itself is amazing. Love the way each workout week is broke down by trimester and the postpartum workouts are great as well. My favorite party is how many options there are for workout substitutes my only complaint would be that there seem to be a lot of bugs with different things within the app and sometimes I couldn’t even open the app without turning my phone off and back on again or completely redownloading the app. But other than those technical issues from time to time, I highly recommend this app to any and every pregnant/postpartum mama!!

Buggy

A bit buggy, won’t save workouts sometimes. Otherwise very good.

So lucky I found it

I came across this app coming out of my first trimester and hoped it would give me some structure for going back to the gym as my nausea wore off. I’d previously been going to group classes exclusively and didn’t want to push myself too hard keeping up with them. This app not only kept me strong and moving from weeks 13-34, it made me comfortable lifting solo in the gym for the first time in my life. I’m slowing down now but can’t wait to start Stronger by the Day when I get through the postpartum period. I was lucky to have a pregnancy that allowed me to keep moving, if you are also so lucky this program is an incredible resource. Thank you!

Everything I needed

I am so grateful for this program and how easy the app is to use. I recently gave birth to a fussy baby and have been desperate to get back to fitness. These workouts really ease you back into it and take about 15 minutes to complete (which is all the spare time I have at the moment). The exercises are easy to swap out if necessary and still get the job done. 10/10

Enjoyable but too much for me

I really enjoy weightlifting and though this app was fun for the duration I could do it. I’ll start off by saying that I was NOT regularly lifting weights before I got pregnant. I had in the past but before pregnancy it was more of a here or there type of exercise I did. The rep ranges and weight in this app were too much for me and I did end up experiencing some vaginal bleeding after doing deadlifts. Like it’s typically recommended, if you’re already doing these types of exercises before pregnancy you can prob still do them. If you’re like me and didn’t really do them on a weekly basis, only every now and then, then it may be too much. However, they do have body weight options for the entire workouts which I could totally do and because of the versatility of movement, education and app layout I give this a five star. Totally worth trying and relatively affordable too

Love this Program!

I’ve followed Meg on IG for a while and love her content. I decided to give the Plus+1 app a try when I got pregnant, and it’s been amazing so far. I love the programming, her demo videos are super helpful and lots of substitutions available if needed. Highly recommend!
