Not really an upgrade
The app does not flow very well. It’s very clunky and cumbersome to do anything other than arm and disarm. At first glance it seems like it will be loaded with features and extras but unfortunately not if you have cove security. Those features only work if your using the alarm from the company that actually makes the device.
Maybe they will add features down the line but as of now it is a bloated app with less features than their previous app.Pazzo81

Personal Experience
Recently bought a house and my homie is building his own house. We determined the best DIY home security was Cove based on the remote control and touch screen panel capability. After using Cove for 3 or 4 weeks and ironing out a few kinks, I don't have any complaints to be honest. I almost gave up, but with a little patience everything was able to be configured and streamlined. I have not ordered video cameras yet and I [do not] expect that to work with the panel when I do-- I don't think the capability is even there at this time. I'll be connecting those to my Alexa Echos 😊 Each company has their plusses/minuses, but I decided Cove was right for me. Terrible
You should expect more from a company and an app that you use to project your home. The fact that it is a complete maze to figure out where to add a new device/security component, is laughable. Your stuff has QR codes - use them. It is cool seeing smaller companies take on the big boys in this market, but the way this company operates doesn't give one a whole lot of hope for the future of home security.theDGH

I'm thoroughly impressed with the app's design and layout. I love how quickly I can arm the security system quickly from the app. I also love that I can quickly see my cameras as I open the app. I like using the Groups which allows you to create custom views of different things in a single view. I do like the trigger feature too, where I can create actions like turning on my lights and lock the door at sunset. By thinking through these triggers it practically automates the security for me. I find the app to be exceptionally well-crafted and user-friendly. Great app!nathanddennis
Intuitive and convenient
