So snappy and complete. I cannot comprehend how they search is so fast. A wonderful app. If you’re still using IMDB, do yourself a favour and subscribe to Callsheet.

a lean, mean movie machine

at last, a replacement for imdb that strips away all the commercial horse manure that comes along unbidden with that product. as jack webb once famously said, the facts, ma’am, nothing but the facts.

Great app with a clean interface

This is a great app with a clean iOS interface that is much better to use than the very frustrating IMDB app which gets in the way of the information I am looking for. Highly recommended.

Bravo, Callsheet! R.I.P., IMDb!

The first edition of The Verge’s Installer newsletter suggested this app, which was a home-run recommendation for a brand new publication.

Everything about Callsheet is great. I use it every day. It doesn’t have a lock-screen widget, so to open it faster, I made a Shortcut myself.

The generous trial meant I used it many times while checking it out. It grew on me so much, I wanted to pay for it long before I had to. It’s that good.

Great design. Bad data.

I want to love this app, because I can’t overstate how much better it feels to use than IMDB. But on multiple occasions it’s given me credits for an actor that are egregiously wrong (as one example, showing that someone appeared in shows/movies produced years before his birth). The same lookups on IMDB—while painfully slow and user-hostile—contain no such errors. If I have to double check IMDB, there is sadly no point to Callsheet. In a perfect world, we’d have IMDB’s back end with Callsheet’s front end. In the real world, I have to go with the app that is more correct more often.

This is the app I did not I needed.

I insta-purchased the app and sub to support indie app development thinking it would be there opened once or twice a year. OH HOW I WAS WRONG. This app is now my trusty companion when watching content at home and away. Indicators for mid and after credit scenes, check. Awareness of Plex content being played, check. Clean design that stays out of the way, check. This app is amazing and worth every single penny!

Respectful entertainment information

I have used the IMDb for years, however that application has become more about serving the needs of advertisers over the needs of the people who use the app.

Callsheet is a breath of fresh air. It gives you relevant information and does not throw non-stop advertisements in your face.

It is still in the early stages of development and there is room to grow but this well-designed app helps you focus on what you’re interested in: information about the entertainment you enjoy.

A love letter to users, not advertisers

Callsheet is so obviously made for the person sitting on the couch, and not the advertiser trying to sit on the couch next to them. Something as simple as "what time will this movie end if I start it now", is just such a chefs kiss. Or checking an actors age at the time the film was made - truly thoughtful touches. It's a no brainer. Ditch the yellow app.

Such a joy to use especially compared to IMDB

All to stuff you might want to know about who was in your TV and movies - without all the clutter of other apps. The annual subscription is peanuts really and I'm happy to pay it.

Now if it could only figure out what I would like to watch and/or let me submit reviews/ratings from the App to the DB.

What I’ve been looking for

Love this app, clean interface the feature set seems to get better and better. Love the no spoilers and identifying what streaming services in Canada offer what I’m looking for.

Would love to be able to sort my pinned items by service to make it easier to identify what I watch as I swap services every few months
