lack of diversity

There isn’t a single POC working as an instructor on your app. Everyone is skinny minnie, only one body type… NO diversity it’s sad. Every photo for “aesthetic” is of a white woman. do better

Glitchy

I really enjoy this app, but it keeps logging me out and it’s always a hassle to get logged back in.

28 loves women!!

Everything about the design and structure of this app was intentional and made to embrace your feminine. Highly recommend!

Keeps logging me out

Rly pretty and aesthetic with nice tips and advice for each phase. I like how it’s set up but I only really open it every month to log my period. Between each start date the app logs me out which is kind of annoying. Also powered by ai which kinda contradicts the connecting with nature energy that they’re going for.

Glitchy

I really love the app. There’s nothing out there like it with the messaging like this. It’s really glitchy sometimes though and that’s a bit frustrating for an everyday user.

New update is amazing!!

The new update is incredible!! I’m blown away. I was frustrated with the bugs for the past year but all of them seem to be resolved! also, the new functionality and design are just wow. GET THE NEW UPDATE!

Recipe Glitches

Can’t access any recipes only one recipe with instructions is available under all meals. Every meal is the same recipe. Tried to do a 3 day free trial and immediately got charged for a whole year $39.99. I want a refund

updates = bugs

I appreciate the new features but the weight loss/gain section does not work unless you are under 110 pounds apparently. I cannot properly set my weight loss goals and macros without them staying at 2500 calories. Please fix this.

Why so many photos of women in swimsuits? It’s unnecessary and this is constantly repeated in reviews but not listened to.

If I already have a premium subscription, why does my husband have to pay $7 a month to see my insights and symptoms? Make it make sense.

New update-disappointing

I have been using the app for several years and absolutely loved it, bc it was by women for women and really helped me understand my body. But this latest update is not it. I hate the integration of AI (completely unnecessary and adds a huge level of distrust for me bc I now feel that I have to fact check everything), and the calorie counting is just an ED trigger. Also, the fact that an app that has been based around helping women understand what's unique about their bodies is integrating the BMI system, which is entirely based around male physicality and has been proven to be bogus on multiple fronts is straight up unacceptable. There are so many ways that nutritional tracking could have been implemented that would have been great. This isn't it. I don't think I can justify continuing to pay for the app with this.

Login issues

I’m starting to get really irritated with this app. I’ve had this app for about 3 years now. it used to be a great app!! Now, every time I try to check the app I’m logged out and I have to log back in. Not only to I have to enter all my login information back in, but now I have to remember exactly when my cycle began/ended and enter that in (which is pointless if you’re checking the app to see when your next cycle will begin). It’s the 4th time I’ve had to deal with this issue in the last month and a half.

Women Sexualizing App

I only tried the free features. The content is mostly basic information about the menstrual cycle.
What really put me off was the design. It's full of images of half-naked women in revealing swimwear and overly suggestive poses. I don't like the sexualization of women, and it doesn't feel like a supportive app for women. It feels more like an app designed for the male gaze than one created to help women.

Used to workout for free.

I’ve been using this app for years to do the workouts. There used to be many that were free and many that were behind the paywall. Now every single workout is behind the paywall.

ALMOST Complete Perfection!

❗️Makers Please Read❗️I’ve been using 28 for a few years now, and it’s been one of the most accurate cycle apps I’ve ever used. I love how detailed the tracking is, it helped me notice patterns I never would’ve thought to log myself. The science based insights into my mood and physical symptoms are incredibly helpful, and I love the food and activity recommendations. The aesthetic is honestly unmatched. 🤎🌿 Most period apps feel cold and sterile, but 28 has such a beautiful Mother Earth vibe. The different colors for each phase, the imagery, and the overall functional flow make it a joy to use.

My only two requests would be:
• A customizable food log so I can track which meals work best for MY cycle.
• A way to log missed periods instead of the app continuing as if I never skipped a cycle. This is a big one for me. As someone with irregular periods, this would be incredibly helpful when talking to my doctor.

Add those two features, and this app would be perfect. I hope the makers of this app see’s this to make what I feel are basic necessities for a woman who tracks. ✨🤎🌿

Would be the perfect app

I really love this app—the aesthetics, the femininity, the advice with what food to eat during each phase, what workouts to do… It does more than just track, and I really love that. However, as you log your period when it starts, it doesn’t “learn” your cycle—it just assumes that you have a 28-day cycle (hence the name of the app, which took me a while to realize). I have a longer cycle, so I always have to adjust the dates, which means the predictions are always off. So, if you have a 28-day cycle like clockwork, this app is perfect for you. I have used this app for several years and it still hasn’t learned that I have a longer cycle, about 30 days. I have heard that the two or three leading competing apps are great at “learning” and adapting to your logs, and that’s valuable to me.

Buggy New Update

I was using the app to workout every day but now the new update doesn’t allow you to play the workout videos full screen/horizontal which has made it a pain to use. No longer recommend.

Was great but…

I loved this period tracker. I’ve been using it since it was launched. I loved the ease of use and the look of everything and the focus on hormonal health… BUT. Why has everything aside from nutrition always been accessible and now I have to pay a subscription to get insights?! I don’t understand and I’m thinking about uninstalling. I don’t want to deal with the hassle of getting bugged to pay money and it doesn’t seem right that certain components were free and now they aren’t.

Good when it works

UPDATE: So after writing this review and putting in multiple tickets with their support I just now get an email stating the issue was fixed. What about paying for a year of a service I lost out on several months of? I’m so fuming I refuse to use the app even though I paid.

I mistakenly purchased a year subscription. I couldn’t get my money back and that’s fine I came to terms with it because I like the app. However, the app hasn’t worked for months now. The loading bar won’t move unless I uninstall the app and reinstall it. I have contacted support twice and gotten no response. I’m very frustrated because I want to like the app

changed my life - ruined by a paywall

EDIT: the message below was my honest review of this app a few years ago… i found it during the height of my PCOS which we know is now called PMOS and it helped me get in tune with my cycle so i could start feeling more comfortable in my body. after years of using the app, they have decided to put almost every feature, now including the insights, behind a nasty greedy paywall. this was done before a while ago and i remember being so disappointed then and i continue to be disappointed. it is almost impossible for women to have access to effective and validating healthcare and while i am completely aware that this app is not a substitute for medical advice, it is still instrumental in helpful women understand their cycle and heal their cycle through information, nutrition, and exercise. i am several disgusted by how greedy and money hungry this platform would be to exploit women who are hoping to understand themselves a little more. shame on you.

original review: being someone with a uterus and menstrual cycle can be a very confusing and lonely experience even though most of it is quite universal. this app has changed my life. i’ve wanted an app where i can track which phase of my cycle i’m in beyond just menstruation and ovulation. besides that wonderful feature, i find the best part of the app are the daily insights. it’s always reassuring to read into why im feeling a particular way every morning i wake up. this morning i just felt incredibly sad and couldn't stop crying and my insights today were so enlightening in explaining my body, my hormones, and how that manifests in my energy, mood, etc. i love this app so much.

Disappointed

Update: I have now deleted this app. When you first look at the app it looks like it’s going to have a lot of features that are customizable. But it’s not. If you set your cycle to 28 days and your period starts a day early so you adjust the calendar, all historical data. Why would anyone want to do that? If you’re trying to get pregnant or going through perimenopause you don’t want your history changed. You’re trying to TRACK it.

Further, now all of the insights to mood, your body etc. are behind a lock and require a paid subscription.

The people running this app think they’re being smart by giving full access for free and slowly reducing the free inclusions. For some reason they think you’re going to now pay for the app. Wrong. It’s market manipulation and I won’t have it. There are better apps that are free and actually work better

Original review:

I have had a free membership to this app since its inception. Recently, the nutrition section is completely behind membership permissions and is no longer viewable. There have always been parts of the app that a paid membership was required to use. That’s to be expected. But it’s very disappointing when features that were once free are no longer. That pretty much reduces this app to keeping track of your cycle and a bit of peptalk. Hardly worth logging in.

Very frustrated with new updates

I have been using this for years now, and have been paying for the premium subscription for most of that time as well. With recent updates, my calendar got messed up somehow and changed the dates of my period recently. I am now for some reason locked out of viewing recipes, workouts and even the tabs that tell you about your body, mood, path etc. despite paying for a yearly premium subscription that is set to renew in December. I emailed support a week ago and have not gotten any response so here I am writing a review. If this doesn’t get fixed I will most certainly be canceling my subscription because what’s the point if the calendar isn’t accurate and I can’t access anything else despite paying for it. Very disappointed with this new AI, as it seems to have made this app worse, not better.
