  • 100% worth the money

By far the most tasteful and polished mahjong game in the App Store, and certainly worth the minimal price charged.
  • I love this game

I have played Mahjong a few times over the years and everytime I played the game I was addicted. It's one of the best games I have ever played, good for the memory, keeps you sharp, keeps the brain active. I played a game this morning at 07:25 and finished in just over 12 minutes. Not bad for 07:25 in the morning.

The whole point if Mahjong is about stratagy, memory and luck, it does not matter what colour the background is, its about specifically moving the right tiles in an order that does not require a shuffle. Bearing in mind a shuffle is the removal of points. Think before you move, you can always undo your last move. Mahjong should be part of everyday education in school, it's fun to play good for brain training, easy to learn the method of the game.

  • Mahjong App.

Best yet, so many layouts, spoilt for choice. Odd Hidden Tiles availablity from the underneath layers can be 'worked-out' suprisingly become available - seems too easy, sometimes, not always logical. It still makes for v. good, relaxing and 'fun to complete, app.'
  • Excellent

This is the first review I've ever felt compelled to write. I've always like mahjong, it's a good game to play when you've got some spare time to relax. It's hard finding a decent version though. Up until now that's been the one that comes with windows 7.

Mahjong is almost begging to be made into a touch version though, and this is it. Fantastic graphics, lovely game play, it's almost like playing the real thing. I'm not a fan of the weird and wonderful tile sets. I'll just stick with the traditional ones, but it's a bonus for people who want to try them out.

The are more layouts than I've ever seen in any mahjong app, and a strange wind mode that alters the matching rules based on which way the "Wind" is blowing.

Bit small on the iPhone I imagine. But perfect on iPad. For £0.59 you cant got wrong. Buy it.

  • Greatly improved

Wow, although it took a long time to release, the latest update solved a lot of the problems/issues I and others were having. Much much much better!!
  • Vastly Improved

Having played version 1.2 for a few days now, I can say that every major complaint I had about this app has been addressed. It's gone from a barely tolerable experience to just about what I could wish for. I've gone from playing in "how few shuffles to finish" mode to winning a reasonable number of layouts without shuffling (about what I can do on other similar programs).

Kudos, and thanks for the update!

  • Shanghai Mahjong

This is a brilliant game that never gets boring
  • I'm addicted

I can't stop playing this it's not hard to solve the puzzles and it's great that it has a hint option I've been stuck a few times and it's helped me can't wait to see what the updated version brings for us players hope it's something cool. Ok just a little add on for the update I like the new tilesets but why did u have to take out some of the sets in version 1.1 would've liked the mahjong tilesets from version 1.1 to stay with the update still fun though I love the toxic pink tilesets in the update

  • Shanghai Mahjong

There are numerous possibilities for tile layout. Unfortunately the program frequently shutsdown when you attempt to change the tile layout. The shuffle function on the tile layout does not work. The sayings when you finish a set are cute and amusing.
  • Visually nice, but needs better programming

Additional tilesets are awesome, but it all falls apart when the game fails at doing what it is supposed to. The whole point is to create a pile of tiles that you can remove until they are all gone, not have to shuffle the tiles to try and get a usable pair again. Some might say that I didn't make the right move, but how do you explain having 6 tiles left and having to shuffle twice to get a usable move and then having to shuffle again to get the final move? Hope to see an update that uses better calculations. At least you aren't really penalised for shuffling.
