I have been using this app from shortly after it came out and it remains a favourite. Now that the unlock function in the pitch pipes has been restored (hooray! - I have been asking for this for years) it is once again my go to app for nailing troublesome room resonances as well.

i have used this while practising for almost 10 years. exceptional app. if you're expecting to tune onstage like some people here seem to any mic-based phone app won't cut it... get a pedal tuner like a TU-3 or something. for rehearsal / practise occasions this is great though x
The best tuner I've ever used
Over the past few decades of tuning guitars: during gigs, all my students's guitars, in my studio for myself and clients, I've used a range of tuners. Clear Tune made a noticeable difference in my recordings as well - the green OK "good enough" signal in many tuning apps ignores the 5% either side of zero, so when I got Clear Tune, the extra percentage meter made a big difference. I've been holding off from updating my phone, knowing Clear Tune and another fave app will stop working with the latest iOS updates. I wish the app makers would update it. Interestingly, since getting an iPhone 6S Plus, the performance of Clear Tune has reduced slightly. Could just be part of the manufacturer's deliberate software throttling of older phones.

Please add Apple Watch app. More than worth it!
Please please please add Apple Watch support, it would be amazing to have a tuner on my wrist at all times.
I bought this app mostly to tune my guitar and mando, but I now use it for everything. This can seriously find the note for any sound. Any instrument (or even not) with a resonating frequency and this thing can tell you which note it is. I am very proud of this purchase, great tool for any musician!

Best tuner for string instruments
I’m a classical cellist and teacher.
This tuner is awesome and accurate.
I teach my students with this app because it has a great display of both the pitch wheel and a left/right display for flat/sharp. Ive found they get the hang of tuning their own instruments and improve their sense of pitch fairly quickly.
I also like that I can adjust the temperament depending on repertoire.

Ain’t broke, don’t fix it
As a guitar teacher, I have referred so many students to download Cleartune. The update a couple years ago made a great app considerably more frustrating. The green arrow pointing to the exact pitch you’re on used to only turn green when you were perfectly in tune, staying yellow when you were not. Now it’s just always green, which is confusing for my students. I avoided updating the app on my iPad for that reason, but recently was forced to update it finally. I also don’t know why the updated version has a more zoomed in version of the pitch wheel. It was great the way it was, please go back.

Good tuner but one major problem
This is a good tuner, but one major problem, plugging in my acoustic/electric guitar on my iphone using Peterson’s adaptor cable absolutely does nothing, Cleartune app still picks up background noises, never have this problem on my iStroboSoft, PolyTune, FenderTune, GuitarToolkit, these app completely isolates background noise when my guitar is plugged in, bypassing iPhone’s built in mic (as it supposed to be) which is the main reason why I use the adaptor cable in the first place to accurately tune my guitar without worrying about background noises, if the developer is reading this, can you please fix this problem, it’s a shame that this is one of the highest rated tuner app and comes highly recommended by a lot of reviewers and guitarists but no one seems to notice this simple but major problem.

Fix or refund, please?
I just purchased this on a recommendation from a fellow violinist. I’m on iOS 12 on my iPhone 5s. The pitch pipe feature does not work at all. I checked settings, restarted my phone, and even removed the app and reloaded it. Nothing. Can you please tell me how to remedy this problem or give me a refund?
Follow up: After 3 days of waiting for a response here in the App Store, I decided to try to contact the developer via their website, but all I got after typing in my message and hitting "send" was an "internal server error" message. so I called Apple support, and Apple issued a refund. Thank you Apple for rectifying the issue.
