Very good and very useful.

I have been using this quite a bit - excellent OTA synchronising, and can keep computers in sync as well. However, I was disappointed to see the support for landscape mode go with the most recent update. The ability to work off-line now is brilliant. If landcape support returned and the viewing space maximised, this would be 5 stars all the way. Keep up the good work!

Encryted online synched storage

The product isn't new, just the iphone app. 45 days to try the service that can store and synch your important information you want visible on your phone. Someone said once you log out, you will need to redownload your files? Why when they are synched online? I haven't logged in for a few days and all of my files are still intact! When you log back in the data is still there. I use this all the time. Your data is stored online/not your iphone. When you log in, your logging into SugarSynch's website for your encypted account. I have 2 home laptops, a work computer and my daughters laptop who is in college on one account. All files are shareable including photos. Yes, this isn't free. But you are paying for encrypted storage space that allows your data to be backed up and available anytime. I can't count how many times I had to delete apps because they were no longer worked or had to restore my phone only to lose my information. It doesn't phase me anymore since my data files are synched with SugarSynch, my contacts and calendar is synched with an exchange email address, my passwords are synched with Memengo Wallet and my lists are synched with Zenbe Lists. Best choice if you don't have or want to use WIFI.

Needs a lot of work....

I use this service (paid for 1 yr 10 gig subscription) mainly to view and email documents. Another reviewer stated that documents are not stored or cached on the device. This is not true. As long as you stay logged in to the appication, documents downloaded to the device are available for viewing even if the device is in airplane mode. If you log out, you will need to re-download the documents you want to view. Here are my suggestions for improvement: 1. Allow the user to add comments when sending documents / files via email. The web app allows this; but strangely, the native app does not. 2. The FAQ / help documents state the app searches your contact list when addiding email recipients; however, this is untrue. The native app will only list contacts that have been uploaded to the SugarSync service (by import or manually entered). This is inconvenient. Why do customers have to upload their contact list to the service when they are already on the device? The iPhone SDK / API allows contact list access for apps.

Works really well

It took a while for me to be able to get the desktop version of this as it's so popular but I think this is a good sign as they're not overloading the system and it only took me 24hrs before I was able to sign up. Now I've finally got it all up and working it's great although it does take quite a bit of time to initially upload all my files. The magic briefcase idea is fantastic - I was able to access files instantly. It's not perfect at the moment, for example, it doesn't support Outlook at the moment, but it is listed as one of the things they are going to add and some documents don't open first time. The price plans are pretty good as well - I'm certainly going to be signing up for this as I can access any of my files from anywhere! I've not tried MobileMe, but I'm sure this app could give it a real run for its money.

IT WORKS...EZY SETUP & "A LA CART"!!! THANK U!!

i was going to wait longer then a week before writing a review, but proof is in usage. i have sent software, files & pictures on the go that could not wait until i got to my usb drive or destop. i dont think they meantioned this, but it upload your contact list with EASE!! i sent file & things while sitting in traffic. PRICING SYSTEM IS GREAT: its designed for power users and folks that just need a little space (not a flat rate & fixed amount of space) MOBILEME...(hope apple doent pull this) INTERFACE SU*KS! pictures, files & software upload TOOOO MANY STEP & im still working with it.. setting up the calender sync was glitchy. look, i dropped a folder on my pc & laptop then sync'd. went to sugarsync website upload contacts & i was sending files from my iphone in 20! (most of the time was picking what files i wanted to sync) great work sugarsync! _____________________________ GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

Excellent for files, but lacks photo albums

This is a very elegant interface to Sugarsync. Yes, Sugarsync is a subscription based service, and they forget to mention that. My guess is that they want people to try this out and then get them to subscribe. And that I can strongly recommend. I have been using Sugarsync for some months now, and it just works great. It syncs files between my Mac, PC, iPhone, and it does so almost instantaneously. It is very comforting to know that as soon as I make a change to a file on my laptop, it's backed up online and to my PC. It also automatically organizes photos into photo albums. For the iPhone app, there are two missing features 1. It seems there is no way to view photo albums. The previous web app had that feature. 2. It seems there is no way to download a local copy to the iPhone that you can view when offline. For this reason (in particular 1) I only give it 4 stars.
