Excellent Metronome
I work as a bassoonist and bass guitar player and find this metronome to be invaluable. There are so many options to create the help you need to play accurately and precisely, and the GUI has only grown better with each update. If you are looking for an alternative to buying an expensive and cumbersome Dr Beat, this is not only that, but an improvement. With sound options and the ability to save beat creations, you will always find what you need. Excellent app. Not a single thing bad about it!

well done!
this version is a HUGE improvement from what it used to be. the new UI does a much better job of highlighting the essentials while still keeping extra functions in close reach. visually, the addition of the blinking red accent/beat lights at the top is a subtle but useful along with the pendulum. the landscape orientation does a perfect job of eliminating clutter and giving me a large and clear view of what I want to see/adjust.
however there are a few small bugs/quirks I noticed. the biggest of which is how the playlist works... currently I have to enter the number of measures for each playlist entry and I don't count out the number of measures in my music. it would be helpfull to have a timer and also the ability to keep one entry on my playlist going until I stop it or select the next entry. also the pendulum sometimes goes in the reverse direction, and it seems like the visual beat counter switches a little late to each count.
thanks for fixing the old UI in a timely manner!

Fixed!
Very happy about most recent update. I can see again! I still much preferred the old interface (not sure why that can't be an option in settings) but at least I can see what I'm doing now. The ui is a bit messy with everything thrown together but still easy enough to use.
Lot of functionality
This gives you a much more economical dr. Beat. On looping playlists, some times the beat sounds on the downbeat of the following entry rather than at the beginning. Adding reference tones and measured tone playlist for rhythmis tuning to a changing harmonic drone would be cool, especially if layered along with metronome.

Essential Metronome
One of a kind metronome that has features not available in any other metronome app! For anyone who loves dr. beat, this is a great replacement/addition...thanks to Dr. Betotte i just replaced 4 hardware metronomes, including some costing over $150.. Dr. Betotte for mac is even better, but it's great having the ipod version... Countdown timer, incremental tempos, easily mixable subdivisions, selectable swing percent- awesome! Sounds are really good also;

Great app, but we need a update with louder volumes
This app is very convenient and close to the original Dr. Beat I've had for years. The biggest drawback is that the volume even at max is hardly loud enough to be heard while playing wind instruments. Please give us an update with more dynamic range and it will be perfect!
FINALLY AN EXCELLENT METRONOME APPLICATION
I teach percussion at 3 local high schools, and I've been anxious for a GOOD metronome app. Until finding this, the other ones I had tried had all been pretty bad, but I couldn't be more satisfied with this app. Great UI, excellent features and performance, A CONSISTENT TEMPO (seemed to be hard to find until now). For all you guys who are holding off on metronome apps until there's one worth it, I believe this is that one.

Great Programmable Metronome!
Suggestion: better visual features. Perhaps allow a feature that can be turned on and off that allows the (blueish) screen to flash one color on beat one and another color on the other beats. This would give drummers the ability to place this metronome away from the drum kit and watch--the beat number is tiny and not useful for this purpose. This would be awesome at concerts where a click isn't practical.
Great app.

What a waste of $10
This may be the right tool for band directors and percussion instructors, but what a horribly cluttered interface! It's software, guy. Hide the lesser-used functions behind a swipe, and make the more commonly used buttons larger. And while you're at it, the TV and film industry uses a UREI click. Think you could find room for a simple pulse wave sample amongst all the drum machine beeps and boops?
If all you need is a simple, rock-solid tempo reference for stage or studio, save $8 and get Visual Metronome instead. Also useful and nicely designed is Metronome TS. I own all three programs as well as the Dr. Beat on which this was based, and am very sorry I wasted my money on Dr. Betotte.
By the way, note the developer's liberal return policy: "you cannot cancel a purchase or receive a refund for a purchase under any reason." Nice.

Great Metonome
This is the metronome application that I have been looking for. I am a drummer and it has the features that I need. I have used this in a live situation to kick off songs and it worked perfectly. I am more than happy with what this application can do. I have two requests for future updates.
1) I use the list feature as a song list. Please make the list so it can be ordered. Currently I am only able to add or delete from the list. This way I can add a new song title and move it up or down in the set list.
2) I leave the metronome in silent mode and use the visual numbered count as my count off. If a simulated flash could be added, it would be easier to see the tempo with the sound off.
Thanks again for a terrific application.
