The best dictionary app!

It has everything, from the basic dictionary, to details on its classification, stroke order, breakdown of kanji/radicals and more, all for free and no ads!

Still the best

I’m an early user of this app and I’ve tried a free others out there. If you’re ever wondering if it will be worth buying it, it will!

If you have more than just a casual interest in Japanese, then this app will be all you need.

Best App for Japanese Learning!

This app is single handedly the reason I can read Japanese! It’s a dictionary app with flashcards, customizable lists and kanji categorized into different levels! And all for free?? I’ve been using this app for years and will probably use it for the rest of my life! If I could I’d give it 10/5 stars! Couldn't recommend more!

AMAZING BUT PLS HELP

I downloaded this app, and it is amazing. It is very helpful for studying, however, I do have one problem.
I can’t get the speech tool to work, so when I am trying to study or speak, I won’t know how to do it.
I can’t speak with any of the words that I have learnt here, as the speech tool won’t work, so I can only write.
Please help me out, over than that, this app is amazing.
Thank you!

Best of all

It literally has everything you need to study/practice Japanese and it’s completely free. I’ve never seen anything better than that

Excellent!

And as of Feb 2024, it still works on an iPhone 6 with iOS 12.5.7

Make sure to get this app onto your old devices before it's not compatible anymore.

The beginner learner’s best friend!

As someone relatively new to learning Japanese with a short attention span and a ton of self doubt, I found myself wanting to dip my toes into immersion by using a dictionary to search vocabulary. This app was my hero. It’s intuitive and easy to read, with a built in list system that lets you keep track of how many words you’ve searched for any given media or topic. Great for building study decks or reviewing vocab before a re-read attempt. Drawing kanji is very forgiving for beginners who aren’t experienced with stroke order, and even if that fails, the radical search is very easy to read and much easier to parse than a website like Jisho. Even as someone still very inexperienced, it’s made reading material relatively easy to get into. The motivation and patience to do so must come from within, im afraid, but if you have the fuel this app will be your engine.

I’ve been having a wonderful time playing games in japanese with the assistance of this app, and I don’t doubt that i’ll be deferring to it time and time again for many months as I continue my little journey.

Won’t work in voice

This looks like a good app. Unfortunately it hasn’t been updated since ios13 or 3 years ago so no the app won’t function properly specially the speaking part. Thumbs down.

Perfect?

This app works as a beautiful dictionary and has added features for learning, including from the JLPT. It doesn’t even seem to have any adverts. There are some added features that could be nice, but as it stands this app is completely polished.

My main app for Japanese

The ability to look anything up on the fly by writing with your finger or by knowing the reading is amazing. The example sentences give a good grasp on the usage of certain words or verbs. Being able to add anything into a flash card deck for study later, and all this being ad free and not needing internet to use is a god send. Thank you for making this app.
