  • Best of the music streaming apps

    I’m not sure what all of the negative reviews are about? I have a paid account and pay annual which is cheaper than most streaming services by comparison.
    I’ve tried all other streaming apps and by far I like Deezer best. For me the app itself is more user friendly, the Favorites tab is easier to use and has multiple view types and allows sorting in various formats, curated sessions are good, Flow is unique to Deezer and allows you to play music automatically based on mood or genre and based on your favorites or what appears to be AI, there are music games if you like that, you can connect with other people who are not on Deezer and have a group playlist as well as see and play their playlist as well which is unique to Deezer, and lastly there is light and dark mode as well as the option to change the player to monochrome.
    The app focuses more on music, which I prefer; However, There are some popular comedians you can listen to, some radio, and what I call podiobooks.
    There is no Xbox or PlayStation app. Hopefully that will be added in the future. Not sure about smart tv apps though. The web browser app is pretty decent as well.
    Hopefully this helps with making an informed decision on which service to go with.

    P.S. Hi-Fi options are included with a paid subscription. I find this to be mostly hype, unless your young, have a good DAC, and high end cans then maybe just maybe you could hear some additional detail.

  • security issue / auto switch to flow / our agents are currently offline ALWAYS

    I’m using for more than 10 years, but support and app have become bad. Time to switch ?! Since 2 months, I’m trying to change my email address on Deezer. I was informed by my identity protection that some personal information was stolen via my Deezer account (and discovered on the dark web). Support is never reachable by chat : agents are currently offline, like ALWAYS. Instead you’ve to send a message. As a answer, they send you an email without doing anything and asking you to rate their support. To authenticate me, they want me to send a bank statement using a non secured email? No authentication by SMS or an authentication app …. I can understand now how I got a security alert about Deezer from my identity protection. I’m using PayPal, it’s to send them my card number by email. Seriously ?! Last time, I got such issue 7 years ago with Deezer support , it was easier to close the account and to reopen a new one. Those days, I’m also fed up for Deezer flow. I have a playlist with some downloaded music. However everyday, instead of my playlist, Deezer stops playing my music and auto switches to the flow. So, I read other reviews and a lot of old Deezer users seems to have the same feeling about the Deezer support/app. Not as good as it was

  • Premium price for uneven experience

    I’ve been paying for the Hifi plan for 2 years now and the experience is a mixed bag. The good is that the sound quality of the Hifi stream is fantastic. The bad is that the iPad app constantly resets my stream setting to the standard quality after an app update. This is frustrating and feels like a cheap move to downgrade my Hifi plan on a regular basis while charging me full price for the Hifi tier. The really bad is the experience using Deezer on Windows, but that’s a whole different review I’ve already left elsewhere. The moment a competitor offers a Hifi experience on multiple platforms for a competitive price I’m jumping ship… or Deezer can just stop downgrading my stream and offer a consistant experience that reflects the high subscription price.

  • Broken in many ways

    EDIT2: I cannot believe my eyes. EDIT: Wow, the developer response says enough, no one at this company even bothers to read what their users say. Bravo! Incredibly buggy, just navigating your library in certain ways can get you stuck to the point of having to restart the app. Then, after getting frustrated with the above, I tried to delete my account. That did not work because your system fails to deliver verification emails to Apple ID—backed accounts. If you try to unlink Apple ID, you are asked to set an email first, but you cannot do that since verification emails don’t work as mentioned. In the end I had to contact support and open two different tickets, taking almost 24 hours for my account to be gone. Why? The first agent completely ignored my deletion request and gave me instructions on how to cancel my subscription, which I had cancelled before even opening the ticket. The agent never responded, so I had to open another ticket, only for the same agent that was ignoring me to actually respond there. This must be some sort of a cruel joke on your users. I won’t even mention the redesign.

  • Love Deezer but weird Car issues

    I love Deezer. Great for my HIFI set up and the app is relatively intuitive and I enjoy it. The only interface issue I’ve run into is that when trying to que up songs and whatnot, the interface is all a little small.

    My biggest issue with Deezer is that when I’m driving and my car is hooked up to Bluetooth or via lightning cable - when I skip songs using my cars interface it also for whatever reason hits the repeat button? So like I’ll
    Skip a song and then the next track turns on to repeat playlist and then I’ll skip a song and then it goes to repeat song and then finally it turns back off. Strange but a pain I’m living to have for HiFi at this price point

  • Below average

    You cannot continue to listen to your favorites and the sound quality is way below average. The features are great but they purposely play music that they know you will not like to force you too skip out . This company needs to forget the premium service and offer free version until they improve enough to charge for subscription. I will never pay for any music services with technology the way it is now a $10 usb stick can allow you to put hours of music plugged into a high end receiver and with cloud services for 100gb free up can use a drive to play mobile . Also when you service will not allow you to skip to bad songs Deez keeps shoving at you then we just log in to another service ! I have accounts at all of them and I would pay if they were reasonable but everyone want to get rich !

  • Terrible

    I signed up for the free trial of premium to listen to a specific piece of music, and have nothing but regrets. First, my password wouldn’t work, so I tried using the option to sign in without a password. The app is supposed to send an email sign in link. It took several tries and a couple hours to get it. Then, when I finally got in, the music I signed up to listen to was gone. When I searched for it on the internet, I found the free teaser clips that encouraged me to sign up for premium, but when I logged in, the full recording was nowhere to be found. So then I tried to cancel my subscription. When I tried, I was offered the option of subscribing to premium, but not canceling it. The app told me it would send me an email before my free trial was over, so I thought maybe I had to opt in to continue instead of canceling. I was very unhappy when a week later I was charged for a month of premium. I deleted my account and complained to Deezer. Imagine my surprise when they told me I had another payment coming due even after deleting my account. Apparently, deleting an account does not cancel your subscription, which is crazy. I finally got that straightened out and asked for a refund. They said I didn’t qualify because I didn’t cancel before my “free” trial ran out. Horrible customer service and I paid to listen to music that wasn’t even available a few days after I signed up, except as a teaser.

  • Fine product, Bad business

    I started a free trial with Deezer late last year. I quickly lost interest in using the service but I forgot about the terms of the trial. Well a few months passed and now I’ve been charged for two months of service with no usage on my account.

    I thought for certain that when I explained the situation to a representative, they would consider at least a partial refund. After all, they can see that I haven’t used the service at all for the past few months and that I made a simple mistake in forgetting to cancel the trail. But their customer service is basically designed to screw people like me I guess. I suppose this is technically legal and fine. But it’s also unfair and greedy in that I was charged for something that I didn’t use and that costs Deezer literally nothing to provide. If this is how they do business, by ripping off decent people who just made a simple mistake, then I don’t think they deserve my business or anyone else’s.

    They don’t even care about music - only money. Otherwise they would just focus on delivering music so well that most people won’t cancel and they would give back money that they didn’t earn in a fair exchange of goods and services. Instead they prey upon people who try their service and don’t like it. What a disgusting, trashy business.

  • Almost great

    The flow playlist and option to pick your mood is why I use this app. The quality of the music is great and the skips given are generous. What I don’t like is the watch functions. When I play music I should see what I would usually see on my lock screen but on my watch. What I get instead is a useless menu to tap on. Often if I pick flow on my watch then later pick up the flow on my phone both will be out if sync with the watch showing the previous song and the phone showing the current correct song. Please fix the watch portion of this app!
