Server side needs improvement
Importing from suggested receipe sites is poor - too many inaccuracies, particularly with the ingredients lists, making for too many manual corrections and erasing of duplicate ingredients. Successfully syncing to backup to server is sporadic. Inputting directly to the server account via PC rarely works and results in error message "failed to update database as menu planner read only". Frequent crashing particularly when using the import recipe feature. There is no tutorial for the template function. However the overall concept is good and the application looks good on the ipad and works logically. I like that it doesn't come with a database full of useless USA ingredients or recipes in cup measurements - there are just a couple of example recipes to give you an idea.

FINALLY!
I have been searching for something to replace the recipe app that I have used for years (PDA Cookbook) and FINALLY with the new update this is it!!! Still has a few little bugs but I feel confident the developer will work these out. Definitely the ultimate recipe/menu/grocery app. I love it! Very versatile.
UPDATE (December 2011): The developer just keeps making this app better and better! I can't even imagine anything that could be done to improve it. This is an exceptional app that is perfect for meal planning, recipe storage, and shopping list. WONDERFUL!!! Thank you for the recent enhancements of adding items to the shopping list directly from the recipe. This app is PERFECT!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Every time I try and write in the note's section of the app I can't get out of it and have to delete the app and re-download to be able to use it.

What a great app. Just what I needed to get organized. It is just so easy to use and I have put in new recipes that I wanted to try and making the shopping list couldn't be quicker. Thanks.
Good app
I like this app - simple and intuitive - I really like that I can select meals from a list of typical/favouite things that I make, tap it, and then it appears on my menu for that day. Two missing things would give it five stars - the ability to put a note for the source of the recipe when I am setting up my food list. Some of the commonly used recipes in my list are from various magazines, some from cookbooks, some from the internet, some from a shoebox full of recipes I ripped out from newspapers or people have given me over the years. But this app doesn't let me make a note of that, so if I can't remember off the top of my head where the actual recipes is, I still have to go back to my paperlist that I've kept for years where I've written the source. There is a place to make a note for the day, but not for an actual recipe - this is needed. Also, I would like to be able to keep past menu plans rather than have them disappear after the week is over. A simple calendar to go back and choose a week's meals in the past to look at would be great.
