Love this app, it's quick to search surrounding areas for possible locations, I also use it for finding out what else I can do / see while in the area which is cool :)
Brilliant!
Words cannot explain how frequently and heavily I use this app. It gets me out and about far more successfully than my regular technique of self-motivation.
Loads of fun and useful too
I like competing with friends to be mayor or get points but the best feature is getting info on places you are near like special deals and restaurant reviews.
Worth getting
If you like social media apps then this is definitely worth a try. You will want some friends to use it too, as you can compete to see who gets the most check in points and coolest badges and see when they are near you. Make sure you make your checkins friends only though as otherwise you will be announcing to the world when your house is empty!
The only problem is sometimes my phone gps places me a short distance from where I actually am and foursquare refuses to acknowledge my checkin as legit.

This version average, previous version better
This version keeps logging out for some reason, meaning when I want to check in I have to log in. Very annoying. Radar kind of cool, except for the fact that if you check in somewhere, all at once you'll get several notifications of nearby places to check in to. That's annoying too.
Add a bug reporter feature into any new versions, so 'reviews' aren't a complaint forum. All it does now is FAQs, which can be useless.

Foursquare = fun!
I love the concept of this app & have recommended it to many of my friends who use Facebook Places, as it's more fun with features such as earning badges and becoming the mayor of a certain place! It's also a great way to discover new places around you as any individual can contribute to the community! It could be better if the app allowed you to tag your FB & Twitter friends easier, as well as the ability to manage your check-in history, but otherwise a very cool app which I use on an almost daily basis!

Excellent applcation
Lot's of fun finding new places, and also returning to places you have been - even more rewarding when I unlocked my first check in bonus recently!

Was a fun app to use,
BUT,
recently noticed something weird about my phone, even when I have turned the app off properly, turned push notification off too...
but for some reason, my battery has been draining very fast, after a full charge before going to bed, 5 hours after I wake up, the battery only has 65% juice left...
tried many solutions, searched all over online.....
Found the SOURCE OF PROBLEM - FOURSQUARE....
Arrrr, phone was as healthy as ever AFTER I DELETED Foursquare.... SAD.....
please update and fix the problem so that the phone won't constantly linking with satalite and drain power EVEN WHEN THE APP IS NOT IN USE!!!

Fun and addictive
I really like this app, not many users in NZ, but it is kinda cool being an early adopter of the system. Sometimes a little inaccurate but on the whole pretty good. I have a business and we use it to promote specials, I use it to see where I have been over a week on the chop Probably not advisable if you are in the witness protection program or some other risk but hey it's no more intrusive than facebook or twitter, if you are that worried about privacy don't use it :-)
