Not much fun on your own
Feel like I'm one of only a handful playing Foursquare in my city. So no businesses offering specials or mayor offers. Shame, hope it catches on before Facebook Places is launched in our country, but don't hold much hope there. Great concept, great app.
Good potential
I've only got one mate on it at the moment so it's use as a means to hook up with friends is limited until my other mates catch on. It also seems a little limited until nz businesses catch on but that's just a matter of time. Good tool, with the only glitches being that it sometimes doesn't allow you to check in as it mistakes you for being to far away, it also thinks some businesses are 500m away from where they really are.

Great travelling tool
I find Foursquare is most useful for when I'm visiting other regions/countries - I can use it to find out what others think is worth doing/seeing nearby.
It's a little irritating how it gets confused from time to time and won't let me checkin to a location I'm standing right outside of.

Good app. Recommended
A good application. I can't really find much fault with it. It would be nice to have a more interactive service to see who is nearby. Like an indication of seeing how far away each friend is in km or the map should show my friends on it even if the enters are old. Could even show a map of all the places I have been or all the places other people have been. This would be great to see how my checkins are spread out.

Amusing
Fun to play with, but as the other reviewer said, rather buggy. Sometimes it will exit in the middle of something, othertimes certain parts will just not work at all. Also this kind of app is only good if lots of your friends are using it (like Facebook) -otherwise it's a bit dull.
Bit buggy but still awesome
Foursquare is awesome, great fun, and quite addictive. I find myself going to a business to buy something just as an excuse to add a new venue to foursquare, and I return repeatedly just to maintain mayorship. It humours me to think most business owners here have no idea why they gained a new customer! Anyway, you need this app, but be warned it is a bit buggy—crashes fairly frequently. Nonetheless it works most of the time, and is all pretty intuitive. Highly recommended—I'm sure it'll get better & better as foursquare gets more popular & it is updated.
