It’s an app on an iPhone!

Hello! Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to write us. We apologize for any confusion caused by the error message you encountered while signing in. We'd like to provide some clarification regarding the sign in process. Our app utilizes a web-based sign in system which follows a widely-used standard found in other popular apps including Google (Maps, Photos, Assistant), Yahoo!, IKEA, and even OpenAI’s official ChatGPT app. This approach allows us to provide seamless and secure access to your account and ensure a consistent user experience for signing in across different platforms. For this web-based sign in to work in the Air Canada app, cookies need to be enabled on your device. While it may seem unusual for an app on an iPhone to require cookies, this normal and expected for apps that use a web-based sign in. To enable cookies on your iPhone, please follow these steps: 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Scroll down and select 'Safari'. 3. Scroll down and find ‘Block All Cookies’. 4. Make sure the 'Block All Cookies' option is ‘Off’. After making these changes, we recommend restarting your device before attempting to sign in again. We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide a secure and user friendly experience within our app. If you encounter any further issues or have additional questions, please don't hesitate to write us back.
Terrible.

Thank you for taking the time to write us. We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble modifying your booking search dates. At any time after doing a search for a flight, you can press the edit button to change your search, including your travel dates. The edit button appears as a pencil icon in the top-right corner of the booking search results. Alternatively, you can press the ‘Book’ tab again from the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. This will reset your booking search, so that you can enter new search dates. When you’re on the calendar, you can keep selecting dates until you’re satisfied with your entry. Your first press will select your departure date. Stop there if you are looking for one-way fares. Your second press will select your return date. Your third press will clear the previous selection, and select a new departure date. We hope this explains how to modify your travel dates and perform a new search. Please don’t hesitate to write us back if you have any questions or feedback.
Easy & Informative
A national embarrassment
The app keeps logging me out for no reason, it took ten attempts to validate my phone number for multi-factor authentication (no advanced MFA options based on either authenticator apps or hardware keys); when trying to access travel requirements for a specific booking, it keeps asking me for the details of my flight, which is where we started from after all. Even providing again the booking reference the app doesn’t work.
Complete disaster for basic functionality and now they want to store advanced facial recognition data… I can only imagine the mess.
Time to hire a serious development team and restart from scratch.
